Step Right Up! The Circus Comes to Town!
Subjects,
Roll up, roll up! The Circus has come to town, and it brings with it a host of nightmares. With Update 4.2, chaos abounds as Morgus, the deranged clown unleashes his twisted revelry. Brace yourself for the madness of the Clown Pack and venture into the circus ring of our brand new map, Cirque du Solara.
Unleash Morgus
Once the bright star of an 18th-century travelling circus, Morgus was renowned and adored for his antics. But when the cultists came, they dragged the circus into darkness and cast Morgus into the Inbetween. His mind, once full of playful tricks, was shattered and warped by the realm's corruption. What remains is a twisted reflection: yearning for the joyous laughter he once brought, but only finding screams and horror.
The Game Master has granted Morgus a new home — where terror is the name of the game, and Morgus’s longing for laughter will haunt your nightmares.
Morgus’s Abilities
Banana Bar: Track Morgus’s emotional state with the Banana Bar, which influences his behaviour and speed:
- 0% to 33%: Sad and slow (90% of the Experiment's speed).
- 33% to 66%: Neutral and steady (100% speed).
- 66% to 100%: Playful and fast (110% speed).
Morgus starts off despondent but becomes more playful as he collects bananas around the Ritual Site. Being dazed will reset the Banana Bar, but once it hits 100%, he reaches his peak of wild unpredictability, amplifying his erratic nature and desire to interact with subjects.
Go Bananas: When the Banana Bar hits 100%, unleash Go Bananas for 15 seconds of chaos:
- Speed: Moves at a speed equal to the Experiment’s sprint speed.
- Strength: Gains immunity to light damage.
- Wall Destruction: Can smash through barriers with ease.
When this state ends, the Banana Bar resets to 0%.
Hysterical: Grip your victim and unleash a relentless laugh that drains their sanity, instilling terror and leading to their eventual demise. Morgus’s obliviousness to his strength makes his playful grip lethal.
Jack-in-the-box: Deploy a Jack-in-the-box trap:
- Activation: Triggers a scare, draining sanity, slowing the victim, and marking them for the Infected.
- Destruction: Can be destroyed by light or will vanish when the Inbetween ends.
Step up and buy Morgus from the in-game shop, but remember, he doesn’t perform for free.
New Curse: The Phantom
The night is far from over! When banished by vote, the Phantom refuses to be silenced. Instead, they return as a Menace, cloaked in shadow and deceit. Armed with a one-shot weapon, they rise to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting. Now available in the in-game shop!
New Item: The Blindfold
Shroud your enemies in darkness with the Blindfold. This sinister item blinds victims, leaving them to stumble in confusion and fear, ripe for your wicked plans. Available exclusively with the DLC!
New Ritual Site: Cirque du Solara
Step right up to the haunting grounds of the infamous Solara sisters’ travelling circus. Once filled with joy, it now stands only as a cursed playground for Morgus, where the line between entertainment and terror blurs. Navigate through eerie tents, evade sinister traps, and uncover the dark secrets lurking in the shadows of this macabre carnival.
Cirque du Solara introduces two new mechanics that will test your wits and resolve:
The Oracle (Suspicion System): The Oracle’s gaze never wavers, her silent scrutiny unnerving. But she offers more than observation—she speaks. Deep within her tent of wonders, you may approach her with burning questions. She can reveal unsettling truths like, “How many are Infected?” or “Which innocent roles are among you?” If you dare, she might even answer, “Is everyone here on the same team?” These are just a few of the questions she can answer… but many more await. Remember, knowledge comes at a price—are you willing to pay it?
Ferris Wheel (Sabotage System): The Infected can sabotage the Ferris Wheel motor, bringing it to a halt. The innocents must gather scattered parts and bring them back to the Ferris Wheel to get it moving again. Will you work together, or will chaos reign while you scramble to restore the Wheel before it’s too late?
*The map is free for all players.
Prepare for Season 5 - The Circus of Secrets
But wait, there’s more to quench your thirst for terror. Season 5 looms on the horizon, set to launch at the end of the month. This chilling chapter will be dedicated to the new map and the Clown Pack, plunging you deeper into the abyss of dread and despair.
Embrace the Madness
The Inbetween has undergone a significant overhaul, transforming from its previously dark atmosphere to a reimagined fog-filled Ritual. Extensive work has gone into making it more immersive and exhilarating, creating a new experience for players.
With these exciting updates comes the Clown Pack. Whether you embrace Morgus, wield the Phantom's power, or plunge your foes into confusion with the Blindfold, this update promises a carnival of horrors like no other. The stakes have never been higher, and the thrills have never been more torturous.
