Dear Survivors,
You thought we were done improving the game for this week? Hell no!
This time we bring you some essential adjustments requested by you on our Discord. We greatly value your feedback, and the best way for us to show it is by implementing it!
Patch notes:
- Major improvements for reducing "Head Bobbing": The character-camera animations have been smoothed out, significantly reducing "Head Bobbing".
- The turning sway animations for the guns (when you move from left to right) have been smoothed.
- A new setting has been added in the controls "Toggle Aim Head Bob". Turning it off completely removes "Head Bobbing".
- A new setting has been added in the controls "Toggle Weapon Sway". Turning it off removes Weapon Sway.
- Server improvement: The animations of demons were smoothed server-side. The previous code was out of date with the upgrade to Unreal Engine 4.27, causing demons to stutter in certain instances when playing online.
- Replaced various pieces of AI placeholder art with open source alternatives.
- An issue with the Directional Audio during Multiplayer games has been fixed.
For anyone still encountering the infamous black screen issue please remove the HellbreachVegas folder in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local.
TL;DR:
Improved movement animations including head bobbing, less AI art, and more server improvements!
What’s next?
The next thing on the agenda is fixing the frametime issue that is especially prevalent on NASA-grade hardware and causes massive lag spikes. This is likely related to higher than expected vram usage for specific cards. (If you are encountering this problem and want to help resolve it please join the Discord and share your hardware specifications).
