The process starts by building Pastures. From there, you build Rat's Nests and Croa Coops, then populate them with Captured Dire Rats and Croa. Your animals will breed new animals and you can specify how many animals you wish to be Automatically hunted.
We also included balance changes, quality of life improvements, and some bug fixes, particularly for Relics.
This is our first release that hits bullets on our roadmap! We continue to work on the rest of the development roadmap as well. Thanks so much for all the support and feedback.
Update Changelog
Ranching
- Dire Rats and Croa can now be Captured by Mages with Air Skill 1 and kept in Pastures.
- Research the necessary items on the Sizzling Flames section of the Research tree.
- To create a Pasture, you first create the land area with Pasture Construction Blocks. Then you build Rat's Nests and Croa Coops to hold animals and Feed Troughs to feed them.
- Captive Baby animals must be fed in order to grow.
- Captive Adult animals must be fed in order to create new babies.
- Pairs of animals in Pastures spawn baby animals periodically. Baby animals grow up into adults over time.
- Adult animals are automatically marked for Hunt, but you can set how many Adults should be preserved so that breeding still occurs.
- Hunted Captive animals drop 2x the reagents of animals in the wild.
Founder Casting Changes
- The Founder can now cast spells while floating in the air.
- This means that the Founder can now construct those hard to reach blocks that required temporary stairs in the past.
- The Founder no longer disappears if the Founder's Grave is broken, shrunk, or covered by Fog.
Gameplay Changes
- Swapped Elevated and Interior on Lair of Dark Arts and Windy Pinnacle. Only affects new Balanced games. Saved games on Balanced will still have the original keywords.
- Gnosis Shards from Gnosis Veins and Battle Crystals increased to match the increased Gnosis Shard costs in the prior release.
- Changed how many Gnosis Shards are gained from Pulverizing Relics from 2x Relic Level to Relic Level ^ 1.7. This makes Relics higher than Level 4 give substantially more.
- Scarecroa take Eyeball instead of Meat to build. Moving Scarecroa/Snaptrap/Pathstone tech to off Second Sight (Eyeball recipe) on tech tree.
- Sleeping in a Medical Bed now uses water power for faster healing.
- Croa without a Nest will now run into the trees and disappear.
Quality of Life
- Mage Portrait UI at the top of the screen has been overhauled to take up less space and expand more gracefully as you gain more Mages.
- Architecture Style can now be changed during games. If you switch between Shuffled styles, they do not re-roll.
- Recipe tooltips now show where the Recipe can be used.
- Added Skill Requirement number to alerts and action buttons when an errand requires a Magic Skill higher than 1. (Runewood Chop, etc.)
