News Liste HELL GALAXY
We’ve reached the final dev diary for November. One of the key areas we’ve been focusing on lately is the overhaul of mining in the game. Since this is also an important aspect of the lore, we wanted to share how mining is being implemented in Hell Galaxy.
Every colony established by the Human Empire across the universe has, as one of its core missions, the search and extraction of valuable resources for the Imperials. The dangerous Galaxy of Neterun serves as a prime example: a small galaxy that contains one of the most coveted resources, the so-called sonic matter, whose collection has led to the rise of raiders. But Neterun is also home to other minerals of varying value, which raiders gather and trade with space stations.
As you progress through the game, you’ll have better chances of finding rare and valuable resources, aligning with the only rule that applies to raiders, the law of the fittest. We’ve tied mining to the core principle of raider survival: the deeper you venture into the dangers of Neterun, the rarer and more valuable the resources you’ll find. The Imperials themselves enforce this mantra of colonization.
Raiders are born to claim the most valuable resources. If you’re strong and ruthless enough to defeat your enemies and survive among the colonies of Neterun, you’ll eventually reach the ultimate prize. That’s why in Limbo, the first area raiders explore after their birth, you won’t find resources of significant value. As you progress as a raider, you’ll unlock access to more lucrative mining opportunities.
In terms of resource distribution, you’ll find both individual mineable resources that you can search for and collect, as well as more valuable and rare resource deposits, which offer raiders an easy way to earn credits. We’re also refining the markers for these deposits to ensure they provide accurate directions without being too intrusive.
We can say that resource gathering has never been easy for the Human Empire, which often sacrificed everything to obtain the resources it needed, resources upon which colony space stations were built, creating a vicious cycle of destruction and rebirth in the form of raiders…
But that’s a story for another time. The team behind Hell Galaxy thanks you for your continued support and looks forward to sharing more in the next dev diary.
Farewell, raiders!
