In today’s development update, we’d like to tell you more about trolley, its possible upgrades, and how it’ll affect your gameplay experience. We’ll cover everything from concept arts, in-game footage, and some animations as well. Concept Art ????
Before we started working on an actual in-game object, we needed to prepare a couple of concepts for our 3D team, so they could have as detailed reference materials as possible. Not gonna lie – our 2D team did a stunning job creating those assets, and we’re more than happy to share them with ya now!
In-Game Look ????
As soon as the concept arts were ready, our 3D team started to work tirelessly, and by putting pieces together, they managed to create an in-game object. Below you can find a screenshot of an in-game look, but remember that it’s still work-in-progress stuff, and additional polish is needed.
Trolley Upgrades ????️
As you progress through the game and find needed resources, you’ll have the chance to upgrade your trolley. By doing so, you’ll be able to improve the durability, carry more logs, or even destroy obstacles that you’ll encounter along your way, but we’ll cover this at the end of this devlog. For now, enjoy this little timelapse that we’ve prepared, and let us know what you think of it ????
Trolley riding ⭕
Okay, now it's high time to proceed to the juicy stuff. In Early Access, we’d like to introduce a couple of different parts of the map that you’ll be able to uncover. In order to travel faster between those places, you’ll have the unique opportunity to use a trolley. Think of it as some kind of a “fast travel” system. Apart from traveling faster, trolley will also aid you with carrying stuff from one place to another or expand your backpack in general. Think of it as a mobile base.
Destroying obstacles ????
As you upgrade your trolley, you’ll also get the possibility to visit some places that you didn’t have access to before. Discovered the cave that was blocked? Use the trolley to break the obstacle and unearth the secrets and treasures that hide within. Oh...Just for the purposes of making this video, we didn't put the character on the trolley.
Trolley-related events ????
If you thought that traveling with your trolley will be only a pleasant journey, then let me tell ya – you're wrong. Along your way you'll encounter a variety of events that will have an impact on your gameplay. Below you can find one of the examples. As always, let us know in the comments what are your thoughts.
