Looking Back
The first part of the past year has been chock-full of new features for WAKFU, so we've taken the opportunity to give you a quick rundown of the content added in our last three updates.
Update 1.82 - Wabbit Island
[previewyoutube=ytYd9zkdA9Q;full][/previewyoutube]
At the end of 2023, we completely overhauled the famous Wabbit Islandwith new families of monsters, redesigned zones, a new storyline, dozens of new pieces of equipment and more. This overhaul enabled us to address a number of issues that the team had identified, particularly the difficulties players were experiencing with the content in the 125-140 and 141-155 level ranges; it also let us artistically freshen up an island that was becoming dated.

Update 1.83 - Tal Kasha
[previewyoutube=qXZSERg_DEY;full][/previewyoutube]
Our March update introduced a new Ultimate Boss – Tal Kasha. Players were invited to take on a sizeable challenge and storm the Queen of the Cursed's pyramid. Continuing on from the Wabbit Island rework, we also added the conclusions to previously introduced quests and the infamous Ivory Dofus.
Meanwhile, Sadidas were overhauled to make dolls more central to their gameplay again, and to make them more fun and dynamic!
We also took advantage of this update to make some Quality of Life improvements, especially regarding how secure crafting and gratuities work.
Update 1.84 - Necroworld
[previewyoutube=qctkYhrGf5Q;full][/previewyoutube]
The most recent update to date was the "Necroworld", a 3-player dungeon added to WAKFU at the beginning of July, with its boss, Toross Mordal!
And he wasn't alone: he brought Necromic Steles along with him. The changes to steles meant we could make a lot of the level ranges more attractive and worthwhile by introducing a new reward system. You can find all the details about this in our devblog on the subject.
As we announced during the KrosmoNote and in our 2024 new year's message, the interface overhaul project was also launched with a makeover for Marketplaces. More user-friendly, better performing, and more attractive, the new Marketplaces are a very encouraging first step toward the interfaces we'll be updating in the future.
Looking Ahead: Update 1.85
Update 1.85 was revealed a few days ago; here's a recap of what you'll be seeing in game soon.
A New Decoration System and Changes to the Trool Fair
As we announced in our recent devblog, the Trool Fair will undergo a few changes to tie in with the DOFUS 20th anniversary celebration. You'll also be able to try out new attractions that will test your memory to the max.
These changes are an opportunity for us to add in some handy new rewards to go along with a brand-new haven bag decoration system.
These will now be able to be consumed to link to both the account and server, just like costumes. Players will then be able to put learned decorations in their characters' haven bags (and haven worlds) as many times as they like! It's a big step forward to let your creativity flow and open up housing customization options.
Enutrof Revamp
The long-awaited revamp of the Enutrof class is now available to be tested in the Beta. We've introduced several major changes to make gameplay more deep and varied:
- The deposit system has been freshened up, with new features and a fourth new sapphire deposit. You can still use them to remove resistances, but they can now also grant bonuses.[/*]
- The Drhellzerker state gets more powerful with every turn an Enutrof remains in this form, and the range you had before using the transformation is offset by a bonus that gives you greater build flexibility for this class.[/*]
- Spells and passives have been reworked and rebalanced to diversify the gameplay. There are more support and damage options to discover.[/*]
Enutrofs are also getting a makeover, with a brand-new look and new alternative animations in which they can fight with their shovels (which will be available in a later update). Here's a work-in-progress preview:
The Interface Revamp
One of the biggest subjects on the WAKFU news front is the interface revamp we mentioned earlier. These changes are going to be implemented gradually, so we'd like to give you a few details of what to expect.
Please note that the images shared below show work-in-progress interfaces or mock-ups, some of which were already presented during the last KrosmoNote.
Purchase Offers Arriving in 1.85
Purchase offers, presented during the KrosmoNote at the start of the year, can also be tested in the Beta. This system complements the initial changes to Marketplaces in July, making trading easier and introducing a fresh approach to managing the game's economy.
You'll be able to issue and reply to bids for fast, precise transactions: see all the details in our devblog about this.
Adjustments
Adjustments are a particularly complex system that can sometimes be hard to control. That's why we're planning to make the interface more intuitive and practical, notably by reducing the time it can take to create a build. We're also adding an overall view to allow you to easily compare statistics between builds.
Faster, simple, easier to read: this is what we're committed to doing with the interfaces in terms of adjustments.
The HUD
The HUD (heads up display) is being improved to offer a wider angle from a higher point of view. Its overall appearance is also more modern, in line with the latest interfaces, which have already been reworked. In combat, the whole timeline no longer moves when a fighter takes their turn. Now, the timeline remains still, and the cursor moves toward the different fighters throughout the turn.
What's Next?
We also want to separate the cosmetics inventory from the character inventory and add new features, such as the ability to save and apply cosmetic sets. This will increase the overall customization options for everyone.
Late 2024: Update 1.86
What better way to introduce our next big expansion than with a new teaser? Sit back and enjoy the show:

New Expansion
A brand-new area will appear at the end of year in the World of Twelve. This mysterious island harbors many secrets that players will have to unravel by exploring a variety of biomes, while keeping an eye out for the five new families of monsters inhabiting them.
This expansion will also raise the level cap; it is destined for players at levels 231-245. It's the perfect opportunity to expand the game with a whole new level band to discover and master.
Noximilian the Clockmaker
Probably one of the most famous antagonists in the Krosmoz, Noximilian the Clockmaker has taken up residence on this misty island to extract as much Wakfu from it as possible. Only the boldest adventurers will have what it takes to confront the dreaded Xelor in what promises to be an epic battle!
WAKFU HD
In late October 2023, we deployed a new client to display WAKFU's interactive elements in high definition: WAKFU HD.
As promised, after months of hard work, the environments* will be updated to WAKFU HD in the upcoming Update 1.85!
*With the exception of the animated pictograms, which will arrive at a later date.
Are you ready to rediscover WAKFU in high definition?
