SUMMARY
We believe it's very important to communicate often with our community and keep you informed with what is happening in terms of development. There's a lot of work that needs to be done in different areas throughout early access and with limited staff (only 3 right now) we can only focus on a few things at a time. We're not going to give timetables because we are notoriously terrible at predicting how long things take. So instead, we're going to break things up into phases of development.
PHASE 1 : BUG FIXING/SMALL FEATURES/POLISH
Even with less than 24 hours of people playing we realized this needs to be priority #1 right now. So feel free to report bugs and give technical feedback on the steam forums or discord. As developers, we tend to test things with a bias because we know exactly how the systems are designed and supposed to work. So when new people come in and do things we didn't think of, flaws become very obvious.
We've decided to hold off on reaching out to press and Youtubers until we've spent some time in this phase. We are extremely grateful for the players and positive reviews that we currently have and how understanding you've been so far. However, the gaming community as a whole might not be as understanding, even with early access games.
PHASE 2 : STEAM WORKSHOP SUPPORT/MODDING DOCUMENTATION/VIDEO TUTORIALS
As many of you may know, part of our core design is the level editor and mod support. We want people to be able to learn our tools as easy a possible to try and start building the mod community. The work in this phase will also be used to train future employees (maybe some of you?) so we see this as a "two birds one stone" kind of thing and give it high priority.
DISCLAIMER
After this point nothing is set in stone and we will have to evaluate our options in terms of staff size and what we think is the most effective use of our time. Depending on potential team expansion, we may be able to do multiple of these phases at once. There's potential for a lot more options, but we will determine the best course of action after we finish phase 2.
