They say “When there is no more room in hell the Dead will walk the earth” and it appears there's no room in the inn, off to the barns with you. An infection has reanimated fallen Axis soldiers in our undead game for this week's runup to Halloween with only survival at stake. War can be gruesome, but a swarm of our nightmares finest going bump in the night can be much much worse.
Infection!
Introducing Infection, Battalion 1944's new eerie, Halloween game mode set to launch this afternoon. The infected have risen, still craving the remnants of war. There is no solace to be found in the eyes of the reanimated and those strong few will have a tough time on the battlefield.
No trick, all treat, darkness falls upon our Manorhouse map which has been reimagined for those brave enough to go toe to toe with the Infected. Featuring a number of aesthetically haunting changes you and your squad must act fast to hold off the unrelenting swarm being careful not to fall victim to your pursuers. If you’re unfortunate enough to join the undead horde then don’t worry, increased speed awaits you in the ‘not so’ afterlife making for a fun, frantic and frightful game mode! Though the event runs in its own queue till October 31st, our Infection game mode will still be accessible via the community server browser for all those that choose to host their own frightful servers with access to ALL maps!

As we look to constantly address and revitalise how XP is distributed in Battalion 1944, we have made some small changes to better accommodate our Arcade audience. More often than not players will be rewarded for how good they are rather than the time they invest which can force a divide that we wouldn’t like to support. Time not ability will be rewarded as we look to move away from the often hard felt grind of players with only limited play time. In spite of this, we have increased all Arcade win and loss by 500% and 400% respectively. This change will make for better pacing of our 2 month seasons without overly punishing those for missing out.
Trick or Treat Warchest!
Halloween wouldn't be the same without a few spooky cosmetics to see you through. For the entirety of our special event, Level Ups will now drop 'Trick or Treat' Warchests featuring up to 9 themed skins, including a new slasher themed knife!Looking Towards Mid Season
With our Autumn MSU on the horizon we're still working towards our goal of improving the overall feel and quality of Battalion 1944.
