What is Battalion 1944?
Battalion 1944 is an ode to classic FPS titles of yesteryear, a true test of skill, teamwork and impactful plays in a World War 2 setting. During Battalion’s time in early access we developed features, functionality and plenty of content updates in collaboration with our community. As a result, Battalion taken on its own identity with its own classic competitive edge. Front and center we have Wartide - a highly competitive, single-life, round-based mode that requires just as much tactical and strategic knowhow as it does skill. After that we have fan favouirtes such as Rifles Only, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Headquarters and more -Players can expect to have their reflexes and ability tested to their full potential as they work their way through Season 6 of our BattleRank system where they can accumulate FREE War Chests and skins for all their aesthetic needs!
Wartide!
Once you’re done running, gunning and fighting your way up the scoreboard, how about turning up the heat? Battalion 1944 features its very own competitive game mode called Wartide! In Wartide, 2 teams of 5 will face off against each other in a grueling 24 round showdown of attack and defence. As the attacking team tries to plant the bomb, destroying 1 of 2 enemy objectives, the defending side will use communication, aim and impactful plays to stop the opposing side.Wartide also plays home to its own economy system, as teams dispatch their foes, win rounds and complete the objective, they’ll earn tokens to spend on an array of weaponry to aid them in combat to take home the victory. Though be mindful to not overspend, as a poor economy can mean the difference between triumph and being punished. Those of you that do suffer a loss of tokens, fear not! A helpful ‘Donate Token’ option can be found on the Buy Menu (B) meaning teammates can lift each other out of perils grasp!
With Competitive Wartide comes a full ELO led environment with FACEIT integration for you to climb ladders and earn prizes in your journey to the top of your chosen region. For those of you looking to play our competitive mode without the pressure it can sometimes bring, Unranked Wartide is but a few clicks away for you to learn weapons, maps, nades and strats. Play at your own pace, solo or with friends, the choice is yours!

Rifles Only has played a big part in Battalion’s journey thus far. A perfect way to warmup and improve your aim, this fast paced arena will have you well on your way to becoming Battalion 1944’s number one sharpshooter. Now on its own queue for instant access!Where to Begin?
Every experienced, new, and returning FPS gamer has a preference when it comes to their ingame settings. We here at Bulkhead Interactive understand the joy in fine tuning our in game environment to cater both to our aesthetic and technical needs. Via the Settings you can change a multitude of options to have your game better represent the player you are. Whether you’re looking you’re keen on atmospherics or a minimalistic competitive gamer, Battalion’s ingame Tune has you covered for the first few steps with our Beauty and Performance options. Below you will be granted the versatility to create a game with a look and feel you adore. Stuck for frames? Try enabling Forward Renderer and kick your game into gear for those on the lower side of the performance spectrum. Not a fan of the lense flare or head bob? Turn it off! Your game, your rules.
On top of this we also include the appropriate options for you to bind your weapons how you like, guns and player model position can be changed as you see fit as well as having recently added the game’s melee option as its very own entity, meaning you can now delegate between the 3 weapon slots in any manner you like. Play around with it and see what fits you best!
We suggest doing all of the above and getting a real feel for your new weaponry on our training map Upottery! You’ll find a selection of every weapon featured in the game, alongside targets to fire at to get a feel for recoil and a helpful obstacle course to improve your movement.
