We wanted to start off by saying a big thank you to everyone who played the demo this last week! Next Fest has just finished and Steam has told us that we managed to make it into the top 50 most played demos which we couldn’t have achieved without your support and enthusiasm, it really means a lot!
We’ve also been reading all of your feedback in the forums and have been adding your comments and suggestions to our backlog so that we continually improve the game after we launch tomorrow.
To show our appreciation we’ve decided to extend the availability of our demo until 3rd July 2024. We’ll also be rolling out a new demo update tomorrow morning that will contain a number of fixes chief amongst these being:
- More keybinding options including rotate building and space bar pause
- The game no longer gets stuck when the player presses the Esc button just after confirming the change settings in 'Autosave Interval'
- Autosave timer now works after selecting ‘YES’ on warning
- Save data no longer corrupts when saving on a full disk
- Middle mouse button can now be used to scroll back in from the tactical map
- Camera rotation sensitivity has been lowered when using the middle mouse button
- Zoom in and out controls are now smoother
- You can now interact with the notifications bar while viewing the tactical map
- You can now switch between the upgrade and downgrade tools simultaneously in the radial menu
- Improved performance and optimisation
- Various visual and UI fixes
- Various audio fixes
- Various localisation fixes
- Various achievements fixes
- Various controller and input fixes
Most importantly this new demo will also allow players to continue their saves if they choose to purchase the full game. It is important to note however that players who installed the demo BEFORE 11am CEST on 19th June 2024 will need to start a new save as the update will wipe existing saves (apologies for the inconvenience but this is the only way that we can get the demo saves to correctly carry through into the main game!)
Republic of Pirates will launch at 6pm CEST / 5pm BST / 9am PDT / 12 noon EDT and will be priced at $24.99 / €24.99 / £20.99. We’ll also be running a 10% launch discount until 3rd July ????
