Greetings Captains, we bring good news!
Today we’re releasing our next free update which adds two brand new maps to free play mode. Both maps were designed to have a different gameplay focus to mix up the free play experience, and feature new geography, starting island conditions, and challenges to overcome.
Bandit’s crossing - Rich pickings, at a price
Overview: The first of the new maps reduces the archipelago’s island count to just seven but offsets the lack of buildable land by arranging the islands in a ring around three intersecting trading routes. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to attack merchants and roving pirates as we’ve upped the spawn rate of shipping along these routes, just be careful when timing your attacks as battles may quickly get out of hand! Your starting island also has access to many rare resources, considering its modest size, with a variety of production condition bonuses that should help you quickly establish the foundations of your republic.
Starting island size: Medium
Starting island beaches: 2
Mar de Ladrones - Turbulent seas
Overview: In complete contrast to Bandit’s Crossing, this map features a huge rain-lashed archipelago consisting of twelve islands. You’ll discover that each island has limited building space so you’ll need to be extra careful with how you manage and grow your local workforces. Your starting island’s production conditions unfortunately leave a lot to be desired so you’ll need to start thinking about expansion sooner rather than later. Finally, we’ve added some new environmental features and stormy weather effects to really get you in the mood for the challenge that lies ahead!
Starting island size: Medium
Starting island beaches: 2
Both maps are available in free play mode now, so why not put your pirate utopia-building skills to the test once again?
What’s coming next? - New free play map generator system inbound!
As outlined in our last post, we’ll be looking to add more content including a new free play map generator system to Republic of Pirates in early 2025. We’ll have more details to share on this additional content in the coming months so stay tuned!
As always if you have any feedback or suggestions, please do add these to the relevant thread. We review everything and will do our best to respond if we can.
Until next time,
PQube and Crazy Goat Games.
