El Presidente moves New Year’s Eve to his birthday!
The Tropican Ministry of [strike]Mis[/strike]information - delivered with the usual flair by the ever-loyal Penultimo - has announced that our glorious leader El Prez has passed an edict officially making New Year's Eve land on El Presidente's birthday, effective immediately.
Since El Presidente’s birthday is the most important day in Tropico (and, let’s face it, the entire world) anyway, he figured it was about time the calendar caught up with reality.
He would also like to clarify that Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, who recently decreed to move Christmas to October 1st (see here), was NOT the originator of the idea of modernizing the calendar. In fact, Maduro was inspired by unparalleled trendsetter, El Presidente, who, in his infinite generosity, graciously shared his plans with his fellow [strike]dicta[/strike]-nation leaders so they could align their calendars accordingly.
