The sixth of the seven deadly sins: Pride
How can Pride be a sin, a deadly one even? Are you not proud of your retro collection, reaching level 100 in your favorite RPG or beating that super hard souls-like boss? Are we gamers especially guilty of Pride? Certainly not! And why should one not be proud of achieving things?
The problem comes when Pride makes you think that you are the superior, better than others, not respecting or even listing to other opinions anymore, when it transforms into arrogance.
The definition of Pride
Superbia: Pride is considered the most demonic of the seven deadly sins, an irrational belief that one is superior to others. Humility heals pride.
Waltz with me
Even if it is historically not 100% correct - but hey, we are inside of people’s minds - the stage for Pride is an opera house gone ballistic, including a nice ¾ Waltz song to roll with.
Mirrors and giant chandeliers play an important role in this one and a peacock is the signature enemy. And have you ever asked yourself, what lies behind the reflections you see in a mirror?
Below are the concepts for the “Ballroom” and the bottomless “Chandelier Attic” two of the three sections we came up with for this deadly sin.
To be honest we really put a lot of effort into these levels and we are certainly proud of how they turned out… proud in a good way, that is ;)
We hope you enjoyed our dev diary. Just one more deadly sin to go!
