Today's Season 19 update features improvements and optimizations to the game engine, in addition to balance changes and beach-themed Battle Pass content, just in time for summer!

We have also included the Season 17 and Season 18 patch notes below the current season's notes, for your perusal.

Season 19 Battle Pass


We're going to the beach in this season's Battle Pass, with items like a new surfboard for Anarki; a fishing hat for BJ and a sun hat for Nyx; new watergun skins for the Lightning Gun and Tri-bolt; and your own little slice of the sandy shore with a new Summer Beach Podium!

Engine Updates


  • Set a max fps cap at 300, to address gameplay issues we have identified occur when your opponents are running higher framerates than their max packet rates
  • Increased max packet rate from 200 to 300
  • Reduced max Lag Compensation period and history size from 300 ms to 200 ms
  • Engine optimizations, improvements for CPU bound users
  • Reintegrated Nvidia Reflex

Video Updates


We added a new advanced video options mention, which contains the following new options:
  • Fog Volumes - Disable fog volumes
  • Transparent Particles - Disables all transparent particle fx
  • Cubemap Reflections - Disables cubemap reflections
  • Screenspace Reflections - Disables screenspace reflections
  • Light Shaft FX - Disables light shaft fx, such as god rays from the sun
  • Water Simulations - Disables water simulations when shooting or moving through liquids
  • Water Caustic FX - Disabled caustics fx
  • Scorchmarks Effects - Disable weapon scorchmark decals
  • Weapon Effects - Disable all weapon end effects, such as explosions and sparks.

We also added a new game option:
  • Champion Blood FX - Disable blood on hit and death

Map Updates


  • Awoken: Fixed orb collision exploit above power-up hallway
  • Crucible: Simplified stone textures, removing lava sub materials
  • Corrupted Keep: Fixed an FX issue which may have been hindering map performance

    • Fixed wall collision left of the HA jumppad
    • Fixed two collision issues where players could get stuck, one in the narrow foggy tunnel, one next to the HA jumppad

    Weapon Updates


    • Starting Shotgun:[list]
    • Reduced damage falloff range from 386 u to 256 u (9.65 m to 6.4 m)

    • Increased damage from 10 to 12
    [*]Super Shotgun:
    • Reduced damage falloff range from 386 u to 320 u (9.65 m to 8 m)
    • Increased knockback from 1.0 to 1.25 on ground and to 1.5 in air
    [*]Super Nailgun:
    • Increased projectile speed from 1800 ups to 2000 ups (45 m/s to 50 m/s)

      ased the splash damage trace reversal from 10 u to 16 u

    Bot Updates


    • Added support to play Timelimit Duel alone or vs a bot in Custom Game
    • Added support to play Duel Rounds vs a bot in Custom Game
    • Improved Tri-bolt aim targeting
    • Improved respawn times
    • Increased the "Human Teammate Defer Powerup Distance" from 768 to 1024u
    • Increased the priority of hitscan weapons

    Sound Updates


    • Fixed reverb voices not being managed by the Champion VO volume slider
    • Spectators no longer hear "You Win", "You Lose", or "Round Draw" announcer sounds

    Game Updates


    • Fixed the third person beam muzzle size for every lightning gun.
    • Sort champions on CTF endgame podium by Score instead of XP
    • Fixed totem health (issue which required Peeker to need more shots than necessary to destroy the totem)
    • Fixed Loveless LG texture quality
    • Updated Loveless LG beam fx
    • Fixed main menu/customization/profile podium rotation (we haven't yet had a podium where this issue was noticeable, but this had to be fixed for the new seasonal podiums)
    • UI - Updates to Battle Report skipping logic
    • Fixed a texture quality issue for scorch marks, trails, and explosions causing lower quality than desired at Low, Medium, & High.
    • Moved Gore Details & Blood Enabled from Advance Video to Game Settings
    • Moved FPS Display and Performance Icon settings options from Game to HUD Settings
    • No longer save max fps in the backend config, as this is a hardware dependent value
    • Updated Russian "Bug Report" localization
    • Reduced ranked mode XP
    • Reduced TDM 2v2 minimum respawn time from 3 to 2 seconds (previously deployed to live)
    • Reduced TDM 2v2 maximum respawn time from 10 to 5 seconds (previously deployed to live)

    • Fixed the self-podium highlighting behavior in the Lobby, when attempting to move another player to your podium position
    • Adjusted LOVE SHAFT LG sounds - made the hum slightly quieter and the shot slightly louder
    • Fixed a crash in the Game Pass build after dismissing a system level error message when the 'You can join multiplayer games' privilege is set to 'Block'
    • Removed the nvidia Reflex code, while working on fixes for AMD cards
    • Profile Page UI - Viewing other player's profile pages will now properly show what Podium they have enabled
    • Default damage summation ALL RECENT DMG
    • Default teammate health and armor indicators to ON and visibility to XRAY

    • Updated backend settings storage to properly track settings between computers

    • Fixed the dynamic shadow casting of the LOVE SHAFT first person model
    • Fixed Galang projectiles appear to come from above and behind the barrel of the weapon
    • Fixed audio config storage for Champion Quips, Soundtrack, Heavy Breathing, Hit Beep, Kill Beep, Low Health Warning, and Taking Damage Indicator which was preventing default values to be stored in the configs for new users
    • Removed lava footstep code that was causing CPU performance issues on Crucible

    • Promoted the secret overstack health bubble in Duel into a new 50hp overstack health item with new visuals of its own, and a 25 second respawn time
    • Moved Power-up to center low, made the 50hp in all modes on the lava pool column
    • Fixed a large number of collision, mesh, and visibility issues reported on PTS

    Game Updates


    • Fixed Player is not blocked from voice, text or invites from non-friend Microsoft Store players when the privilege is set to Friends on Game Pass
    • Fixed Player is still able to hear player after muting them on Game Pass
    • Fixed Microsoft Store player that is in-game friends with Steam player may not hear voice chat with the setting set to in-game friends onGame Pass
    • Updated CPU & GPU autodetect settings database to have knowledge of all currently available hardware
    • Fixed the missing icon for the Stroyent pickup item
    • Fixed Keel's ability description grenade count
    • Updated the "yellow shield" status effect icon, shown for Clutch & Scalebearer's which denotes their damage reduction during ability, to be protection-green.
    • Fixed an issue with the Inverted Mouse option storage
    • Fixed an issue with the Damage Indicator option
    • Fixed multiple engine issues, mostly related to synchronization between the game scripts & the engine code. These are minor errors & warnings, just some maintenance.
