The Hotel Architect Steam Next Fest demo has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible experience it has been!
We were thrilled to see such an overwhelmingly positive response from players around the world. Your insightful feedback, creative hotel designs, and engagement with the demo have been truly inspiring. Last week, we highlighted some of the best builds from Steam Next Fest, and now that we’ve had some time to review and digest your feedback, we’re excited to share some key takeaways and our next steps for development.

Your Most Requested Features
Throughout the demo, we noticed a few highly requested features that could enhance the building experience and overall gameplay. Here are some of the top suggestions we’re looking into:
Copy Room / Template Rooms – Many of you wanted an easier way to duplicate room layouts, saving time and effort when designing large hotels. We hear you, and we’re are working on a copy/paste function! This means you can either choose to design each room or if you want to skip the design part, you can use copy in a design for those who would like to speed build! (Who's ready to speed run a hotel build? ????)
Eye-Dropper Tool – We also noted the requests for an eye-dropper style tool that is able to select an item/wallpaper/flooring that has already been placed in game. We happy to say we're working on this feature and it will allow you to quickly select any item, wall material, or flooring, and instantly jump to it's location in the menu. This should make designing and decorating your hotel even smoother, less tedious and more intuitive!
Fixes & Improvements
We also identified a few key areas that need refinement, thanks to your bug reports and feedback. Here are two critical fixes we’ve worked on:
Restocking Issue in the Combo Fridge – Some players noticed that the combo fridge wasn't restocking properly. We’ve investigated the issue and can confirm we have a fix!
Builders Not Fetching Materials at Highest Game Speed – When playing at the fastest speed, some builders failed to retrieve materials, causing delays in construction during the Steam Next Fest Demo. We’re addressing this to keep your hotel development running efficiently at all speeds, no need to watch like a hawk for builders getting stuck during your high speed gaming now!
Notables:
Sunbathers - We noted that a few of the community struggled with the sunbathing goal on Santorini, As the term sunbathing and sunbathers is quite similar and all the guest types look the same when sunbathing in their swimsuits! The team have been discussing a way to make this easier to understand.
Icon labels - For accessibility reasons, we're definitely taking the feedback we saw about UI and some icons needing labels or explanations on board. We can't confirm how this will take place yet, but it has been noted!

What’s Next?
The feedback we’ve gathered from Steam Next Fest is invaluable in helping us refine and enhance Hotel Architect. Our team is now hard at work integrating some of your most-requested features, addressing key bugs, and fine-tuning the gameplay experience to ensure Hotel Architect is the best it can be.
We'd also love it if you left your thoughts on our marketing survey here if you haven't done so already. This link was in the email we sent out yesterday!
Thank you to everyone who played, shared their thoughts, and helped shape the future of the game. Your passion and creativity continue to inspire us, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next!
Stay tuned for more updates, and happy hotel building!
