Greetings, Pilots!
Beyond the borders of Colonial space lay mysterious dangers, alien wormholes, extreme radiation, battlefield debris, ancient ruins, and other exciting challenges for space pilots willing to venture deep into uncharted territory.
Let’s take a look at some of the new locations you’ll be exploring in EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients.

Is that new music? Why yes, it is!
Let’s go a little deeper.

Aethon
For years, EVERSPACE pilots have been asking when they’ll be able to explore this star system in full. The answer is soon™.
Aethon is a dangerous system filled with radiation fields and warship hulks drifting in the dark. Scrappers seeking a payday off this wreckage put their lives on the line against Outlaw bandits and hazards left from the Colonial War.

Humankind no longer maintains any organized presence here. The system's aging, unstable red star casts a hellish light over the wreckage of research stations and old Freelancer bases—even before the war, previous attempts to establish settlements were difficult due to the dangerous environment. Years under hostile conditions have clawed away at structures, but they may still hold some secrets.
The events that point Adam towards this system involve an old friend. You’ll have to wait to find out more.

Khaït Dominion
The closest Okkar rim system to the Colonial border is also one of the most sacred to the Okkar. Years ago, when Humankind expansion encroached into this system, the Okkar retaliated in force.

Planets, once desert-haven cradles to the Okkar civilization, are now loosely populated by few, dotted with ancient structures and mysterious ruins. Historical records say this system was a home to the Ancients as they nurtured the Okkar into a starfaring species, but their monuments are now dormant tombstones.

Strange as it sounds, a natural wormhole bridges this system with the Khaït Nebula. Due to this anomaly, possibly connected to the Ancients, the fabric between dimensions is especially thin here, leading to the growth of Viridium in large fields.

Rhak Homeworlds
This system is the beating heart of this sector of modern Okkar civilization. Much of their population lives on gigantic orbital stations and sprawling mega-structures covering the planets below them. The advanced technology of the Okkar can clearly be seen in these structures and the gigantic wormhole generator arrays that lead to Ushak Sanctuary and the Khaït Dominion.

Though it has been more than a decade since the end of the war, some structures still bear the scars of Human attacks—wreck fields with the remains of Okkar and Colonial warships have yet to be cleared due to their massive scale. The hardline anti-Human faction, Okkar Prime, point to these remnants of conflict as they push to reclaim territory they feel had been wrongly ceded to the colonists.
This system is also home to two stars: one white, the other yellow. Billions of years ago, the second ejected its corona as plasma when it became a white dwarf, leaving ghostly plasma fields that exist to this day. Human astronomers are unsure how planets in the system survived this event, though the influence of the Ancients may be the cause. Even now, the system remains rich in the resources that corporations such as G&B covet.

????????????????????
Be prepared when venturing into the "Forbidden System". This most ancient of the Okkar worlds is a religious center holy to the Okkar, home to few—even Outlaws and Redeemers know to keep well away.

The welcome presence of a non-Okkar is unprecedented. How will you be visiting this system? Will you be welcome at all?
If you haven’t already, make sure to watch our most recent devstream as our Community Manager, Garry, tours through seven different locations that will be explorable in Wrath of the Ancients. When the expansion releases later this year, you’ll be able to play through these and more.
Stay tuned for more news, our next update on these channels will be a deep dive into our new ship, The Wraith.
