Beyond Contact Version 1.0.3 is now available!
This includes the highly requested mass deconstruction of your shelters, better weapon tooltips, construction time on buildings, and more!
Highlighted Changes:
- Added the ability to mass-deconstruct an entire room of a Shelter / Habitat at once (alt + right-click by default)
- Improved the tooltips of Thermo Bulbs and Oxygenators to help identify invalid Shelters / Habitats
- Added a short construction time to buildings
- Weapon tooltips now show primary and secondary attack key bindings
- Players can now change most settings on their existing save files
- Added new temperature screen effects - colours will now shift towards colder or warmer hues based on the player’s temperature
Other Changes:
- The Void Nexus can now be scanned and inspected
- The Brachylon Trader button now says Buy and Sell instead of Trade
- Renamed Basic Walls and Doors to Basic Fences and Gates to reduce confusion
- Added a new visual effect for when Kangah dies and is revived by his skill, ‘Kangah Cannot Lose’
- Updated building placement sounds to match the new construction behaviour
- Updated sounds for the Plasma Welder
- Added new ‘mission accepted’ sounds
- Added background music when talking to the Admiral near the end of the game
- Added creature alert sounds
- Improved urchin combat music
- Improved weapon sounds
- Made Void Rift audio more menacing
- Updated the smoke and spark textures for the Void Nexus Stabiliser
- Recent players are now displayed on Steam
- Added a visual fuel indicator to the exterior of the Geothermal Generator structure
- The current research is now displayed in the Research HUD button’s tooltip
- Void Seeds now generate a small damage pulse while under construction
Fixes:
- Fixed various spelling and grammatical errors
- Fixed the ‘No Research In Progress’ indicator remaining visible after all research had been completed
- Fixed inconsistent key binding order for the movement and camera options
- Fixed some map inconsistencies in the Wildlands biome
- Tooltips will now refresh their text when changing languages
- The Data Laboratory can no longer accept unscanned items
- The Oven’s output slot size now matches its input slot size
- Fixed Metal Sheeting being able to stack up to 40 in the player’s inventory but only to 20 in a Storage Locker or Storage Vault
- Removed C.A.R.L.’s ‘scan more’ reminders
- Clicking anywhere to close an inventory will no longer cause an attack action to be executed
- The Credits reward text no longer overlaps the XP text when acquired at the same time
- Fixed the Corapod hit sound effect not playing correctly
- Fixed an issue where a death event would be processed when Kangah was revived by his skill, ‘Kangah Cannot Lose’
- Fixed an issue where talking to Clawtooth could incorrectly progress the story and prevent some objectives from being completed
- Fixed the name of the Captured Shock Sprite
- Fixed missing mouse-over audio for the ‘Free the Forge Cores’ objective
- Added a backup claim button for completed Daily Missions
- Fixed an issue where Kangah’s body would contort sideways when taking hazard damage while running
- The Forge Heart no longer points to artefacts stored inside the player’s backpack
- Fixed a crash caused by placing the Forge Heart in a Storage Locker or Storage Vault
- Fixed an issue where raiders sometimes stopped attacking during a raid
- Fixed some textures and pathing issues in the Lava Magma Flow and Lava Steam Vents biomes
- Teleportation now occurs on release of the left mouse button instead of on press to prevent accidental teleports when dragging the map
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to progress objectives involving Cence if another player started and completed earlier parts of the Octomian storyline
- Fixed a few crashes caused by inventory transactions and map updates
- Fixed an issue where the Lush and Bountiful Kepple plants did not display their names on the map
Balance Changes:
- The First Aid Kit now heals 100 instead of 55
- The First Aid Kit now requires ×1 Shock Sprite Gel instead of ×3
- Increased the maximum stack size of Organic Data, Mineral Data and Crystal Data from 100 to 9,999
- Increased the initial Obelisk detection range so that players can more easily find Obelisks earlier in the game
- Increased the incoming Corrupted Defender warning time from 1s to 1.5s. This also applies to the reinforcement waves that defend void structures.
