Demo confirmed. Awaiting orders.
Hey everyone! A new Demo for Tempest Rising is playable NOW during TactiCon from July 18-22. We’re very excited to be featured alongside so many other great RTS games in this Steam event.
This new demo gives players the opportunity to play through two new missions – GDF Mission #2: Hornets’ Nest and Dynasty Mission #2: The Informant. Below, you can find detailed breakdowns of both missions and the featured units and abilities you’ll be using to complete them.
Feedback Survey
Once you’ve played through the demo, we’d love to hear your thoughts about your gameplay experience. Feedback from our players is very valuable to us and will play a crucial role in helping us improve the game during development.

Demo Missions
GDF Mission - Hornets’ Nest
A GDF base is under attack. You will be commanding the reinforcements. Reach and recapture the base before it falls. Once harvesting operations are back online, protect your Harvesters as they gather the remaining Tempest. The Dynasty are establishing bases in GDF-held zones to take our Tempest. They are to be denied.
This mission introduces the Riot Van vehicle, the Engineer infantry unit, and the Support Beacon (a GDF Support Power).
Riot Van
Anti-infantry APC (Armored Personnel Carrier)
GDF Riot Vans can carry up to six infantry at a time. They are also outfitted with a top-mounted anti-personnel autocannon and a potent sonic deterrent system nicknamed the “Sonic Shockwave.”
Ability: Infantry Suppression System
The GDF Riot Van contains a backup support system designed to incapacitate enemy personnel. This painful “sonic shockwave” disorients and disarms enemy infantry caught in its area of effect for a short time.
Engineer
High utility noncombatant support unit
With a hearty ‘Affirmative!’, these hard-working techies can repair nearby vehicles, disarm mines, construct emplacements for units to garrison inside, and can capture enemy structures. Carefully deployed, a single engineer can turn the tide of a battle.
Ability: Guard Tower
Engineers can call in self-assembling Guard Towers which, once deployed, can be garrisoned by other infantry as defensive structures.
Support Beacon
GDF Support Power
The Support Beacon is an invaluable tool in the GDF arsenal. It can be used to build structures in distant locations, to mark large groups of enemies during combat, and to buff the move and attack speed of your troops.
Dynasty Mission - The Informant
A GDF naval sortie have captured one of our bases by the Black Sea. A VIP stationed at this base guarantees he possesses information worth mounting a rescue mission. Reclaim the base and the Tempest, and secure the VIP. We will deny GDF intel at least, but if it is of no value to the Dynasty, you are authorized to deal with our VIP yourself.
This mission introduces the Boar Tank vehicle, the Technician infantry unit, and the Distribution Mode for the Power Plant structure.
Boar Tank
Heavy main battle tank
The Boar Tank is the pride of the Dynasty’s armored divisions. Derived from early World War 3 designs, the Boar is incredibly sturdy for its cost and cheap to produce and maintain. It takes reduced damage from all sources and is immune to Tempest Overflow.
Technician
High utility noncombatant support unit
Technicians are entrusted with a back-mounted engineering harness, which provides them with a plethora of useful tools for repairing allied vehicles and structures, detecting and removing land mines, and taking control of enemy structures. Additionally, Technicians carry their own stock of mines, making them flexible in defensive or offensive combat operations.
Ability: Minelaying
Technicians carry with them a small stockpile of pressure-triggered landmines. Harmless until armed, these mines are yet another way that Technicians support the Dynasty’s war effort.
Distribution Mode
Overclocked Power Plant
Creative modifications of Dynasty Power Plant maintenance and containment protocols allow for an intense and ongoing release of Tempest energy, which has a remarkable effect on the electrical systems of nearby factories and weapons emplacements.
They are effectively ‘overclocked’ with Tempest energy, allowing for a 20% boost to the production and attack speed of nearby structures. However, extended production above normal operating parameters also damages the Power Plant over time.
