Starminer Weekly Screenshots #7
Welcome back, Commanders—we know it's been a long minute since we've posted but today, we've got some hot screenshots for you!
As you continue to expand your station and push the boundaries of space, energy management becomes crucial to survival. With power demands rising from both construction and mining, ensuring you have enough energy storage is key to keeping everything running smoothly. Let's dive into how balancing your energy supply and storage can make or break your operations.
Energy Mangement: The Key to Survival ????️

Efficient energy management is crucial when balancing mining and construction in Starminer. Here we're taking a closer look at the UI - the energy bar to the right indicates the power consumption of various systems. Keeping this bar at optimal levels ensures that your station can operate smoothly, avoiding disruptions in both mining and building processes. Proper energy capacity helps power your operations, allowing you to expand and gather resources without running into power shortages.

When energy runs low, the consequences can and will be felt across your station. In this screenshot, you can see how the lack of power impacts your operations, with mining and manufacturing systems slowing down. Without enough energy, construction halts, and resource collection becomes inefficient, making it harder to expand and maintain your station. Balancing energy is critical to keeping everything running smoothly and ensuring progress in space.

Now that we've covered the fact that you won't survive out in space without power— we'll point out the Build Menu! Here you'll see there are several types of energy solutions to keep your station running efficiently. You can start by adding T2 Solar Panels or for more consistent power, the T2 Nuclear Reactor is a great choice, generating a large amount of energy to support your operations around the clock. Don't forget all that excess energy needs to go somewhere! The T2 Energy Storage helps store excess energy for later use, while the T2 Thermal Control system ensures that heat is properly managed to prevent overheating.

Speaking of Energy Storage: As you expand your station, it's important to add energy storage to handle excess power. In this screenshot, you can see how the energy bar shows the need for more storage to keep up with your power generation. Without enough storage, you risk running out of energy when construction or mining requires more power. Building up your storage capacity makes sure your station can handle those energy surges and keep things running smoothly without any interruptions.
