We’re excited to announce that Update v0.7.5 is now live in Ships At Sea! This major update brings a wave of improvements, new features, and fixes to enhance your maritime adventure. Whether you’re exploring the open seas solo or in co-op, there’s plenty to discover.
Highlights of v0.7.5:
Set Sail Together: The Co-op Feature Has Arrived!
Team up with your friends to navigate the seas, take on missions, and collaborate on various tasks. In addition to the cooperative gameplay, each player can command and manage their own vessel in Ships At Sea, introducing a unique element of strategy and teamwork to your maritime adventures!
Build Your Legacy with the Company Feature
Players can collaborate in a team to run a company or operate independently to compete with others in the same session.
Redefining Logistics with the Overhauled Cargo System
Efficient cargo placement and stacking are essential for establishing a foundation for large cargo vessels and container ships.
Experience More Flexibility with the Improved Mission System
Experience a more dynamic and immersive gameplay with randomized pickup and delivery locations uniquely tailored to each cargo mission. Future updates will extend this feature to additional mission types, offering even greater variety and excitement!
Customize Your Experience with Wave Size Adjustment
To enhance player control and immersion, we’ve refined how wave sizes can be adjusted based on varying weather conditions. The game features two primary weather systems: Normal Weather and Storm Weather.
You can fine-tune wave intensity by adjusting its percentage, allowing you to simulate a variety of sea conditions. Ships At Sea uses the Beaufort Scale, a real-world empirical measure that connects wind speed to sea states. Here’s how it corresponds to our simulation:
- 25% = Beaufort scale 1 - 3
- 50% = Beaufort scale 1 - 6
- 75% = Beaufort scale 1 - 8
- 100% = Beaufort scale 1 - 12
It’s important to note that not every rainy or snowy day in Ships At Sea is classified as a storm—some may feature precipitation without heavy winds or rough seas. By adjusting wave sizes, you can fine-tune these conditions to create a more personalized experience. Keep in mind that wave settings apply only to the current session and cannot be modified once the session begins.
Enhance Your Fishing with the Advanced Sonar System
We are excited to introduce the debut of multiple sonar modes in Ships At Sea! This new system enhances your maritime experience by providing greater depth and realism. With improved tools for locating and identifying fish, your fishing expeditions are now more immersive and authentic than ever before. Dive in and explore the possibilities!
Master Your Navigation with the Radar System
Radar is an essential tool for maritime navigation. It enables the detection of nearby ships and land obstacles while providing vital information about the distance and direction of other objects. This is critical for collision avoidance, whether at sea or near the shore. With radar, captains can confidently navigate through low-visibility conditions, such as darkness or adverse weather, ensuring a safe and steady course.
Our radar system comes packed with configurable features designed to enhance your navigation experience. Adjustable sensitivity, sea and weather clutter suppression, and measuring distance and bearing ensure your route remains clear and accurate. You can track the position of your vessel, monitor nearby ships, and utilize NAV lines and markers to stay on course. Additionally, the radar supports Relative Motion (RM) and True Motion (TM) modes, providing greater control and situational awareness of the open water.
Sail to the Rhythm with Our Improved Radio System
Enhance your maritime adventures with Ships At Sea's new radio feature! Now, you can listen to your favorite tracks or online radio stations directly from your boat's cockpit. Whether you are navigating calm waters or facing stormy seas, let the music elevate your journey.

Access to v0.7.2
For those who prefer to continue their current game progress, we created a separate branch for version v0.7.2. Please be aware that this branch will not receive future updates. To take advantage of the new features and improvements in the future, transitioning to v0.7.5 will be required.
Savegames
Ships At Sea is currently in Early Access, and with the release of Update v0.7.5, significant changes have been made to the game’s core architecture. As a result, savefiles from version v0.7.2 are not compatible with the new update, meaning players will need to start a new game.
Additionally, please note that cargo-saving functionality is not yet available. The cargo and mission systems have undergone a complete rework to improve gameplay, and while we’ve made substantial progress, certain features are still in development. We are actively working to enable cargo-saving soon and appreciate your patience as we continue to refine the game.
