This is going to be a little bit of a "behind the scenes" post, as we'd like to delve into the adventures we experienced during most likely the biggest gaming industry event of the year - Gamescom 2023, on which we went for it and revealed the release date for House Flipper 2!
At the same time, we'd like to warmly thank everyone who attended the event and send special kudos to those who visited our booth. Being there really showed us how numerous (the number of people was just crazy!), chatty (loved chatting with you guys about some nostalgic retro game vibes... and about HF2 of course!), and stylish (don't even get me started on the crazy cosplays!) the global gaming community is!
But let's start from the beginning, right?
August 21 was officially the first day of the event... but! A special Frozen District team was tasked with appearing in Cologne a couple of days earlier to make sure everything regarding the construction of our booth as well as the technological support of it goes according to the grand plan.
We all started packing, and the very first of our agents arrived in Cologne on August 19. The next morning, they approached the exhibition halls ready to check and report the situation!
Fortunately, everything about the booth itself looked great, and we had some outstanding PCs waiting for us ready to be unpacked and put into action. The preparations got into top gear.
The rest of the "Frozen District + Frozen Way Gamescom crew" arrived in the late evening of August 20. After a pretty long trip, we had a chance to get some proper sleep and prepare ourselves for whatever came the next day.
The action starts!
The first day of the event was the press day, so it was a bit chill!
We had a great time talking with influencers and press from all around the world, and we had a blast streaming for you live from Gamescom to reveal the release date of House Flipper 2!
And then it all started!
With our eyes wide open,
our House Flipper 2 knowledge sharpened,
and our social batteries charged to the maximum,
WE FACED THE GAMERS!
Our booth at a constant maximum capacity, going strong, not giving up!
Our defense strategy? Well, we had to come up with some DIY ideas for some tiny issues, and as always the answer is DUCT TAPE! Optimize the queues!
More and more waves of gamers were arriving at the booth. We had a chance to meet lots of newcomers experiencing flipping for the first time, as well as some really hardcore Flippers with hundreds or even thousands of hours of playtime.
I gotta admit that the excitement and energy from the House Flipper fans queuing up to play the HF2 demo and chat with us was on a completely different level!
For the following days, all our Frozen District and Frozen Way warriors were fighting to their absolute limits!
Some have fallen... but thanks to their efforts, more and more gamers were finding joy amongst the plywood walls of our beloved booth!

In the end, our shifts were not that long and we had enough time to regenerate, so no worries!
As more and more gamers were leaving our booth with a bag of merch goodies and their minds (hopefully) filled with positive emotions, we were getting closer and closer to the last day of Gamescom!
On Sunday, it was time to pack up our things, deconstruct our now field-tested booth, and soon after that say goodbye to Cologne! Luckily, we still had a bit of extra time for some tourism before we flew back to Poland.
Overall, the event was... well... it's no surprise that it's considered to be the biggest one in the world.
We left the place with a strong feeling of accomplishment and our minds full of memorable moments with the fans! Once again, we thank you so much, and hope to bring you a fantastic new gaming experience at the end of this year!
