Fear not, because we compiled a list of questions for you. Let’s discover everything we know so far for GreedFall 2’s early access which is set to release this Summer 2024.
What is GreedFall 2 about?
In GreedFall 2, you will play as a native from the Shining Scales Clan of Teer Fradee who will be taken and forced to go to the Old Continent – Gacane – a vast place marked by war and sickness. You will have to explore its many regions, each of them with their perceptible identity, meet new characters and companions along the way, and uncover the intrigues of the continent’s different factions.
What is the linkage between GreedFall 1 and GreedFall 2? Will I be able to meet some characters from GreedFall 1?
As GreedFall 2’s story unfolds in the same universe as GreedFall 1, you will be able to meet certain common characters (for example Mev who appears in both games) and hear from some events and elements which are happening in the first opus. Although it is not going to be at the heart of the story.
GreedFall 2 will present a brand new story with new characters to meet and new places to discover. Unlike GreedFall 1, where the player is confined to the island of Teer Fradee, in GreedFall 2, your journey will take you to the vast Old Continent and its different regions.
However, we are thinking of adding some potential cameos... but you will have to play the game and see for yourself!
Will there be romances like in GreedFall 1?
Yes, you can expect to meet new companions and be able to romance them, should you take the time to get to know them first of course.
In GreedFall 2, you will also have more options than in GreedFall 1 as there will be more companions to meet. We can’t spoil anything more as it would also spoil the story, but it is something you can look forward to!

Why an early access?
Before going into the production of GreedFall 2, we published a survey on our various platforms, so our community could tell us what they would want and expect for our next game. It helped us a lot with some of our decisions for the game.
As GreedFall 2 is going to be completely new and bigger; there are going to be more regions, more creatures to fight, more quests, more characters to meet, more skills and overall just more content to play. We will also improve on the features like the combat and exploration and offer new ways to experience our game.
Having the feedbacks of the players will be very important and something we will need because we want to deliver a game which will satisfy our community and make sure we are on the right path. As various aspects of the game are going to be new for us, knowing what the players think of them and expect from them will really contribute to balance and develop the best game we can.
What content will be released during the early access?
When the early access launches you will be able to play the first part of the game – the beginning of the game and story. You will have to create your own character and choose from different skill sets. There are going to be different regions to explore, not just Teer Fradee. The new system of regional quest and dungeons will allow you to explore these regions differently and offer you new options to the way you can interact with some characters as well as add elements to the existing story and lore. You will also meet your first companions who are going to be a big part of your team.
As the early access continues, we are planning to have regular new releases to add more content as you can see on the Road Map above, and we will also take into account your feedbacks – be it for fixing potential issues, balancing the current content or adding to it. So, with each update you will have many things to do and discover still.
We also plan to implement more technical content as well as some content often asked by the community, for instance the photomode – that you can expect at a later point during the early access.
The content of the early access you will be able to play will ultimately amount to around 30% of the final game.
Of course, we will regularly keep you informed on the evolution of the game’s development, and we will also update the Road Map during the whole period of the early access.

How will the community help?
Your feedbacks are going to be very important as they will help us greatly to develop GreedFall 2 and make it the best game it can be.
You will have various platforms at your disposal to talk to the team and let them know what you think of the game and would love to see balanced, tweaked, fixed or added in the game. You can find all the links to the platforms at the end of this FAQ.
Of course, we will not necessarily implement every ideas as we still want to keep the game’s core DNA as well as have it make sense in the end. But we will often communicate with you to let you know all about it throughout the entirety of the early access.
We are very curious and eager to hear what you think of GreedFall 2!
How long is GreedFall 2 going to be in early access?
The goal of the early access is to be able to develop the game with the community, to be able to balance and add features with the help of the players. As such, GreedFall 2 will release when the content and polish of the game are satisfying for you and for us. We will keep you updated when we have more information to share about it.
Is my save file from the early access going to be transferred when the full game releases?
Unfortunately, no. Due to compatibility issues, the different saves throughout the early access and in between its major updates, and also when the full game releases, will not be transferred.
Will the price differ from the early access when the full game releases?
During the early access, the price will be lower than when the full game is out. An official announcement will be made about it at a later date.
Will I be able to play the game on consoles?
The early access of GreedFall 2 will only be available on Steam (PC). Though, we do plan to release the game on consoles once the early access is over and the full game releases.
Will I be able to unlock the achievements on Steam?
No, you won’t be able to unlock any achievements during the early access on Steam. However, you will be able to do so when the full game releases.
