Welcome back, Time Travellers!
We reached the second update of Chronos Builder: Wishing Well. And with it, we bring the last tool upgrade unlocked via stretch goals: Custome Biomes! Along side new additions and bugfixing. Remember, all this new content is free for all user of Chronos Builder, regardless of whether they own Wishing Well or not.
Read on to see what's coming up!
1.- Custome Biomes
Do you find the current biomes sets restrictives or lacking? Not anymore!
Now, you can create your own custom textures sets! Combine up to four textures from different biomes and redesign the terrain as you like. Your sets will be saved alonside your maps, and you can make as many as you can, up to a maximum of fifty.
2.- Deep Waters
A new liquid joins the team! Deep Waters comes as an alternative to the original water liquid from the Terrain tool. This version comes with a more realistic depth coloring, giving the impresion of a vast mass of water. So, now your seas and oceans will look more authentic on your campaigns. Who knows what lurks beneath that surface...
3.- Linux: Verified Proton Compatibility
Good news for Linux users!
We know that the waiting for a Chronos Builder native version is getting long, as our progress on it is getting quite difficult. Meanwhile, we have verified that both Chronos and Wishing Well work consistently using Steam Proton compatibility tool.
Just go to the game Properties in its Steam page and select Compatibility -> Force the use of a especific Steam Play compatibility tool. Pick the lastest version of Proton et voilá!
We ask you to leave a report in ProtonDB, in order to help other linux users who want to use Chronos in their linux system.
4.- What's coming next?
As it's been mentioned at the beginning of the update, all the core gameplay features promised in the campaign have been released. Leaving only the new assets and biomes as our next goals.
Coming next on our roadmap is the Western setting, coming with +80 new assets, natures props and the Rocky Desert biome.
See you in the next update!
