OK, classes can wait. There's a giant roadmap-shaped elephant in the room - let's talk about it!

First off - yep, we missed our planned roadmap reveal. Our apologies. The original goal was to reveal it about two months ago. In the recent months, we’ve been deep in discussions with a number of publishers, and things are taking longer than expected. A lot is being decided right now, and we'll only be able to make an official announcement once everything is locked in. No guesstimates this time, but your patience is greatly appreciated.
As for the game itself - as you might have noticed, we're taking our sweet time. Did we announce the game too early? In retrospect - yes. That said, if we hadn’t, we wouldn’t have gotten all the amazing feedback from the community that’s helped shape the game into something x10 better. We’ve added a ton of great ideas, many of which came from you - whether on Discord or Steam. We also cut things that didn’t quite resonate (RIP large heads… welcome, slightly smaller heads).
As for updates, our approach has always been to hold off on constant teasers until we’re actually getting close to release. We’re trying to avoid generating needless hype before we're able to announce the launch window. We’ll continue posting devlogs - and a much more exciting one is coming next! This one is mostly meant to address the roadmap delay (because no news is hopefully better than radio silence). The moment we get the green light to share the roadmap, we absolutely will - though this time, we’ll refrain from guesstimating when - we’ve learned our lesson.
With that out of the coffin, we're pumped to talk more about classes. We’ve teased the existence of classes before, but this time, we’re actually going to reveal what they look like and how they play. So grab your goblet (of wine… or otherwise), and let’s sink our teeth into it!

There are six classes to choose from, each offering a completely unique playstyle. Let’s start with the Darkstrider.

If subtlety is your weapon of choice, the Darkstrider is the perfect fit. This class excels in deception, agility, and precise attacks, making them a deadly force both in and out of combat.

- Pickpocketing & Lockpicking – The only class capable of stealing from guests and unlocking their suitcases. A great source of extra income… if you don’t get caught.
- Stealth Expertise – Moves undetected, silences footsteps, and can slip past obstacles unnoticed.
- Skill tree – Focused on stealth, invisibility, counterattacks, poison, speed enhancements, and deceptive tactics to outmaneuver enemies and strike with deadly precision.

- High Dexterity – Quick and precise, the Darkstrider thrives on speed over brute force.
- Weapons of Choice – Specializes in daggers, short swords, and ranged weapons for swift, lethal strikes.
- Ambush Tactics – Excels at attacking from the shadows, dealing extra damage to unsuspecting foes.
- Parrying & Counterattacks – Masters the art of deflecting enemy strikes and swiftly retaliating with deadly precision.

The Nekrocaster is a master of dark magic, feared and misunderstood even among vampires. Their ghoulish, otherworldly form unsettles hotel guests, making subtlety a challenge—but what they lack in charm, they more than make up for with raw supernatural power.

- Necromancy Mastery – The only class capable of reanimating corpses and using them as minions in battle.
- Supernatural Dominance – Excels at combat magic, wielding powerful spells for both offense and defense. Their offensive spells prioritize speed over raw power, dealing moderate damage with fast cooldowns, allowing for a relentless barrage of magical attacks.
- Eerie Presence – Guests are naturally more suspicious of the Nekrocaster, but their fear also makes them less likely to resist feeding attacks.
- Skill Tree - The Nekrocaster's skills revolve around necromancy, magical destruction, defensive wards, and life-draining spells, allowing them to control the battlefield and sustain themselves through supernatural means.

- Spellcaster First – Unlike other vampires, the Nekrocaster relies on magic rather than brute strength in combat.
- Weapons of Choice – Limited to daggers, favoring magic-fueled precision over melee combat.

Graceful, charismatic, and dangerously persuasive, the Bloodcharmer bends minds as easily as they do fate. The only class capable of Persuasion magic, they specialize in controlling others. Unlike their more savage counterparts, they prefer finesse over force, making them masters of deception and psychological warfare.

- Hypnotic Feeding – The only class that can hypnotize guests into willingly donating small amounts of blood, erasing their memory afterward. This allows for safe, low-risk feeding that won’t attract Vampire Hunters.
- Mind Control Mastery – Excels at persuasion, manipulation, and hypnosis, controlling others rather than fighting head-on. Great at detecting guest secrets (covered in this update)
- Unshakable Charisma – Their charm makes them more effective in social encounters. Guests are oddly comfortable around them and are likely to look the other way if they notice anything suspicious. Doesn't always work on the strong-willed.
- Skill Tree - Their skills revolve around hypnosis, mind control, illusion casting, enemy debuffs, and turning foes against each other.

- Psychic Combatant – While not the strongest melee fighter, the Bloodcharmer can control the battlefield through deception and confusion.
- Weapons of Choice – Prefers daggers and short swords, avoiding long swords in favor of speed and precision.

A walking force of destruction, the Neckbreaker is pure, unrelenting power. The only class with brutal combat skills, they rely on overwhelming strength and sheer endurance rather than finesse or strategy. Magic? Too complicated. Stealth? Meh. The Neckbreaker smashes through problems with raw aggression, making them a nightmare in close-quarters combat.

- Unmatched Strength – The only class that can wield every melee weapon, including massive long swords that other vampires struggle to handle.
- Forceful Feeding – Their feeding style is brutal, making it almost impossible for the victims to escape or fight back. It's also loud - making it easy for nearby witnesses to take notice.
- Smithing Expertise – Excels at blacksmithing, allowing them to forge superior weapons and to suit their brute-force playstyle, although they're incapable of enchanting weapons.
- Skill Tree - Their skills revolve around high-damage strikes, multi-target attacks, berserker-style rage boosts, and momentum-based assaults that grow stronger the longer they stay in battle.

- Relentless Warrior – Cannot parry, counterattack, or use ranged weapons, but blocks attacks effectively and shrugs off damage that would cripple others.
- Weapons of Choice – Can use all melee weapons, but masters long swords like no other.

The Youngblood is the closest thing to human a vampire can get—blending in effortlessly, raising little suspicion, and slipping through society unnoticed. Vampire Hunters are far less likely to attack them, making them the safest choice for those who prefer subtlety, social manipulation, and technological prowess over brute force.

- Tech-Savvy Schemer – The only class with advanced technology skills, capable of hacking the review system using the steampunk-y lobby computer. Youngblood is the only class that can mine Crypt-o as they upgrade the computer. What is Crypt-o? It's the vampiric digital currency used to trade rare items (e.g. blood) or services with the Vampiric Council. This is the secondary currency in Bloody Hell Hotel and we have a lot of fun stuff planned for it. To make it perfectly clear: there will never be microtransactions or anything like that - it's for entertainment purposes only and we have really fun features planned that utilize Crypt-o and technology in the game.
- Financial Trickster – Their hacking skills allow them to steal guest credit card information, ensuring payment even if the guest never checks out. Since guests use credit cards to pay for their stay, normally the player makes money only from the guests who survive their stay. This is not the case with Youngbloods.
- Social Chameleon – Excels in persuasion, negotiation, and deception, easily uncovering some of the guest secrets through conversation.
- Skill Tree – Their abilities revolve around hacking, Crypt-o mining, social manipulation, merchant negotiation, and discreet feeding methods that leave no witnesses.

- Cunning Opportunist – Not the strongest fighter, but adept with ranged weapons, daggers, and short swords for quick, strategic strikes.
- Weapons of Choice – Avoids long swords, favoring agility and precision over raw power.

Here’s a sneak peek at the computer updates! While all classes can use a a variety of apps, Youngbloods have exclusive access to features unavailable to others.

The Primortal is more than just an ancient vampire - they are a "living" legend, a relic of power, and a ruler among their kind. Feared by Vampire Hunters and revered by the Vampiric Council, they enjoy privileges no other vampire can claim. Though physically frail and slow in combat, their mastery of Ancient magic makes them an unstoppable force when the time is right.

- Ancient Spellcraft – The only class capable of wielding Ancient magic, a devastating form of combat magic.
- Royal Authority – Gains preferential treatment from the Vampiric Council, offering a variety of perks not available to other classes.
- Intimidating Presence – Vampire Hunters hesitate to confront them, allowing them to get away with far more questionable actions before drawing their wrath.
- Skill Tree – Their abilities revolve around Ancient spells for raw destructive power, temporary weapon enchantments for devastating melee strikes, battlefield control, and protective magic that compensates for their lack of blocking or parrying.

- Regal but Devastating – Their attacks are slow but can be extremely powerful, thanks to the enchantments they apply to their weapons, temporarily granting them immense destructive force.
- Ancient Magic – Their magic is centered on high-damage spells with long cooldowns, requiring them to rely on weapons between casts, making proper timing and resource management crucial.

We'll keep you updated on the roadmap as soon as we can. The next devlog will be one of those with some fun gameplay footage! Thank you all for your patience and support!
