 • Symphonischer Soundtrack, komponiert durch Inon Zur (Syberia 2, Fallout, Dragon Age, Prince of Persia)
 • Originelle Rätsel, vollkommen in Echtzeit-3D

First the most important points:
+ great soundtracks
+ a beautiful atmosphere
+ cute places

- audio bugs, visual bugs, control bugs, just so many bugs
- the story mismatches to part 1 & 2 of the series (in my opinion)
- the ending was soooo terrible
- Kates representation
- worst game control ever
- camera movement

I played the first two parts of the Syberia Series when they came out, many years ago. I really enjoyed them and when I replayed both parts a few months ago I still loved them. It's so nostalgic and beautiful to come back to this world. After replaying Part 1 and 2 I started playing the 3rd game of the series for the first time and it took me over a months to find the right words for how underwhelming it was. I was just sooo disappointed about literally EVERYTHING. :D
The game was full of bugs (I mean... the first game was released in 2001 or 2002, I guess, but there were less bugs than in the newer part). The game control was sooo bad, too :D
About the story: in my opinion the story could have ended after the second part, but it doesn't. The direction of the story wasn't my favorite option but it was okay. If it would be another game, which has no relationship to the Syberia series it would be better for me. I didn't like Kate in part 3. They represented her like a naive teenager which is the opposite of her behavior in Part 1 &2.
Overall the game was okay but it couldn't match up to Syberia 1 & 2.
After 11 hours I finished it and I just played it again to get the missing achivements :D
The end of the story was soooo poor and way too quick. I was just frustrated and sad.

Before going into this game, pretend it's 10 years older than it really is and you will have an easier time. The controls are incredibly clunky - forget about playing with anything else than a controller (and even then it's sometimes unbearable). I'd say the story for the most part is fine, but the voice acting is all over the place and so bad at times it takes away all immersion. I was glad to hear Sharon Mann back as Kate, but for some reason her voice sounded a bit muffled compared to the other characters. Finally, I'll add that there's a very shallow DLC attached to the game, that should have been included to begin with and free. Play this only if you're into the series.

Grading this game is difficult. As a fan of the series, I can still recommend it for the most part. But also just because of that. Oh boy, does this game have a bunch of wasted potential. Compared to the 1st and 2nd part of the series, Syberia 3 is a significantly worse game. The Controls are partly very bad, since the game is rather designed for controllers, but then sometimes certain hotspots just won't display properly. Only the mouse and keyboard can help here.

The puzzles are quite simple, with one exception. But this one is extra hard. The graphics of the game was okay for me, but is truly no eye-catcher. However, this is also due to the gloomy and partly apocalyptic mood of some places. The German voice actors are terrible, who understands English should better play the game in this language. It's not good, but it's still the lesser evil.

What I really liked about the game is the melancholic mood of the story. I found it exciting and the social and spiritual themes interesting. Parts of the story don't seem fleshed out enough to me, as if they decided to cut out some of the content. I think one of them is the DLC, which basically covers a section of the game that should have been in the main game. I would have liked to know a lot more about some of the side characters in the game. Their fate is completely open and in most cases I would have liked to see them given more background. Unfortunately, they also failed to give the antagonists more history and background. This makes them look pale and their complete motivation remains a mystery. In addition, the plot doesn't give them much room, they are actually only there to be a danger in the background.

The ending of the game is very open-ended, luckily there is a sequel in the meantime. However, detached from that, the ending is extremely unsatisfying and leaves you with more questions than answers.

I recommend the game to any fan of the series or of Benoit Sokal. But a friend of mine, who loved playing the 1st and 2nd parts, hates the 3rd part with the deepest passion. I, on the other hand, was well entertained by it. Despite the very clear flaws. If you don't know the series, then stay away from this game!

This game is so underrated. Buy it and play it right away!

First, the music is in accordance with the game. Second, the story is quite interesting. Third, Miss Kate Walker is kind of interesting protagonist.

Cons:
Movement
Camera Control
Mouse Cursor disappear for no reason

Summary,
Everybody should try this game.

I could recommend it for someone who likes a slower paced adventure and doesn't mind some lacking polish and quality of life features. Probably better if you have played the first 2 in the series, but have expectations that this one will be quite different beyond simply connecting the story. In general I would recommend Life is Strange or Longest Journey/Dreamfall series before this one.

+Great music and soundtrack
+Fully voiced dialogue
+Environments
+Story

-No key rebinding, clunky controls
-Slow dialogue, no skip
-Frequent camera issues, limited control
-Autosave only, unclear when saving
-Slow pacing
-Some obscure puzzles
-Often lacking direction

Sorry but too annoyed by so many things to recommend Syberia 3 to anyone. I tried to enjoy it as much as I can but it just wasn't possible. I love point'n click adventures, been playing them from start of 90's. Loved and enjoyed playing previous Syberia. When I saw this one has achievements I was even more excited since I am achievement addict :D , but sadly all that excitement became frustration after realizing some stuff i will write below.
Pros: - Story and
Oscar <3
umm thats it...
Cons: - Inability to save(except auto save)
Sooo many missable achievements and since there is no normal save you have to start game over if
you want to get all.
You cant even skip anything, dialog or videos.
Can't even say I enjoyed puzzles since I was annoyed by fact I might miss achievement on it and
would need to restart game to get it
Some minor bugs with movement, camera or even objects/(exits you couldn't click on them, coursor
vanishing until you change screen by right clicking if available oooooor waving around screen with it
hoping to pass over object so it would show up again

Lip synching way off, Cutscene music so loud that it overpowers dialog. Lots of game glitches. The controls for interacting with objects was sub-par. Also, for those that enjoyed the storyline of 1 and 2, like I did, this new storyline with the espionage angle just did not fit well. Plus this game seemed more geared for children with its humour, to the level I was almost expecting a fart joke thrown in. Graphics looked way better than the previous two, but sadly due to these issues it really detracted from the game as a whole.

Even if my gaming experience has been riddled with bugs (I wrote a guide after having solved two of them through Steam discussions), I still feel like giving this game a thumb up. I have childhood memories tied to this saga and I want to recommend you this game for its story, soundtrack and scenarios.
Sadly it lacks quality control and some bugs should have been fixed in 2021!
I didn't like the new WASD movement controls for being too imprecise, so I sticked to the classic point and click mouse controls.

I hope they won't repeat the same mistakes in the new upcoming game. It's still a great experience after all, so if you've played the previous two chapters, don't skip this one!

Loved Syberia 1 and 2 so I wanted to give this game a chance. Played for 9 hours but eventually I had to give it up. While the game itself is okay, moving around and interacting with stuff in this game is extremely frustrating. Poor control of directional movement, slow movements, not seeing where you're going due to the fixed camera position, mouse disappearing, frequent and long loading screens.

I completely understand why this game got a low score. I cannot recommend this game.

Technical disaster which somehow ended up as a decent game

Syberia 3 is the continuation of the well known and very appreciated Syberia saga. It took years, everyone probably thought Syberia is long dead. So how is it? Well...it's a decent game, pretty ambitious one which fails at some points and is wonderful in other areas.

You play as Kate Walker and after waking up in a soviet hospital your journey begins. Soon you find a Youkol – Kurk who becomes your friend. The whole story involves Youkol tribe and you'll visit a lot of places and explore them while seeking for solutions how to bypass the obstacles story throws at you.

I really enjoyed the story, I think it's great, especially the lore. This game has its charm, some kind of uniqueness which makes this game stand out so it isn't too similar to other games in the genre. This involves the story, lore, art, world design, atmosphere and characters. All these are really cool.

Gameplay isn't traditional point&click anymore and this time it's a bad thing. The game is quite ambitious and goal here was to make a mix of narrative cinematic experience coupled with point&click gameplay. I guess due to lack of budget this failed completely. But about that i'll talk a bit later.
So gameplay is pretty simple. You walk around, explore the surroundings while talking with other characters, interacting with various objects, picking stuff up and putting them into your tiny pockets and of course finding the use for them. Pretty traditional.
The puzzles aren't hard for the most part, some of them makes little sense but mostly I had fun and I love the fact that puzzles are much easier than old school games but still you will encounter some really challenging ones.
Talking to others and learning their backstories is very satisfying and interesting to learn.
There's a lot of backtracking which might be annoying because it feels like a waste of time. Usually point&click games makes it less time wasting and lets double click on doors and exits to avoid all the running back and forth but not this game. All the movements are ridiculously slow. No biggie. But controls make it worse. I'm playing with a controller and it's terrible (not very good with mouse&keyboard either). Sometimes you can't get up the stairs, so you back down and try again, sometimes the controls glitch and you can only run in one direction, interacting with hotspots sometimes glitch out too where you can't click on that hot spot, so backing out helps again.
Another absolutely terrible thing is camera angles. Often it's hard to see where to go or camera constantly changes to the opposite side and only confuses you. Like you go somewhere and then you need to go back. You go back at a different camera angle. Really annoying.
These probably are the biggest downsides of the game so if you can somehow swallow this then a good game awaits you. Although expect a cliffhanger ending.

Graphics. All the dialogues are portrayed in a cinematic manner which means you see character faces from close range. While character models are well done and I have no complaints, the animations are ridiculously bad. Facial expressions? Forget it. Lip sync? I haven't seen such a bad lip sync in a long time. Lips move, mouth moves, often it moves a lot and if watching without a sound it looks quite good but it completely doesn't match anything the characters say. It just moving randomly. So my rule as I always say – don't have the budget? Go the traditional way, without fancy graphics.
All the areas are very nice and look unique, sometimes I just looked around to admire the work these developers did with that terrible unity engine. Art-style is very pleasing to the eye too. Overall the game looks very good.

But I can't say the same about performance. It's weird, actually I can't remember many games having this issue. The game runs perfectly fine on max settings, 80-90fps, played on 5800x, 2070s, 32gb @3440x1440. But animations, scene transitions feel like 15fps. I checked carefully, there are no framerate drops. Sometimes you can even see the trail character leaves, like the game is running on 5 fps. Really don't understand this.

There's no ultrawide support and to enable it you'll need some patience. But it works fine with a fix. Haven't encountered any serious glitches and the game looks great in ultrawide.

One more weird thing is that the game has no pause function while in cut-scenes. You click pause, you get a pause screen saying the game is paused but the cut-scene is playing behind it. Seriously?

Voice acting ranges from ok to average and doesn't reflect the characters at all. What I mean is that character looks doesn't match with the voice. You see some ugly nurse talking and hear a voice of a young lady. Reminds me of Married With Children episode where Al's mother in law used to work at the phone sex line. Voice acting in general is very inconsistent. One character speaks way too fast, like she was in a hurry, main character is fine, also some of the Youkols are fine too. It's completely hit and miss.
Music is good, I would even say great most of the time and accommodates the amazing atmosphere this game offers very well.

Syberia 3 is a flawed game but worth playing for the fans of the genre. It's riddled with technical issues but offers good story, atmosphere and feels unique. Worth getting on sale.

Pros
 • Good story
 • Great lore
 • Nice artstyle and graphics
 • Great character design
 • Good music
 • Good puzzles

Cons
 • Technical issues with controls and camera
 • Weird performance issues
 • Inconsistent voice acting
 • Atrocious lip-sync
 • No ultrawide support

I was happy to hear Syberia 3 will be released, but bad critiques made me not to be very eager to play it.
Eventually I gave up and played it…

Graphically game looks good, but the biggest issue is the fact that it is not optimized. Even after so much time. I think they put too much juice into Unity engine and wasn’t able to optimize it in time, and later they gave up on making huge overhauls to the game.

This optimization issues are especially noticeable during loading and when you need to run around huge scenes back and forth. And you do that often. And that’s another issue – gameplay is not as good as it was in original two games. Quests are easy and player often runs around until a key item is found… and that’s that. There are some mechanical quests, or we can call those minigames, but game feels more like playing a casual adventure… with less gameplay than a casual adventure and more running around.

Controls and camera are far for perfect. I played it using gamepad and it seemed easier that way. I didn’t encounter many bugs, but loading times are very long in some cases.

Positives about Syberia 3 are mostly in its backstory and settings. Not to spoil much - player will encounter interesting people, find out about their way of living, history… it’s the reason I like to play this kind of games.

Here comes a big spoiler –
game ends extremely stupid... in fact it actually doesn’t end. I was baffled and waited to see what’s next... Nothing happened... it was end of the game.
That was a huge disappointment for me. Maybe developers wanted to make a sequel? I don’t know.
Syberia 3 should have been a much better game, but I think developers didn’t have the ability or will to make more involving gameplay via quests. Game is too short and world setting (and I’m talking about huge scenes) is not exploited nearly enough. When you put this together with technical issues it has, this game can only be recommended to hardcore Syberia fans.

Syberia 3 is absolutely a mixed bag of a game. But, I think it is worth playing because it gets right most of what matters.

For all the technical jank Syberia 3 has I think it still somehow managed to pull off a world and tone that's mysterious and a little off-beat like previous B. Sokal games. I think the overall plot and characters are generally pretty well thought out. The execution of most of those characters though is very amateurish.

The general pacing and puzzles were probably on the easier side but for me that's not really a negative. I played through with a controller which really felt like what the game was designed for and i'd say it was adequate. Using a controller for some of the puzzles did occasionally feel like a hassle but it wasn't a consistent issue.

Overall I'd say if you want more of that Syberia atmosphere you'll get it here, but it does come along with a bunch of technical and production issues. If you're a person that can look past those kinds of things I think it's worth checking out.

Like many of the recent reviewers, I decided to catch up on the Syberia storyline considering there's a 4th game coming out soon, and I loved the first 2 installments. Unfortunately, while I still have ways to go to finish the game (and I will just for the sake of the story), I can't recommend this at all. The controls are downright horrible and not having a free camera view makes it even more frustrating. I don't know why they released it in such a state, considering how good Syberia 1 and 2 were. I only just got to the amusement park chapter and found so many bugs along the way it's not even funny.

The game is so obviously politically motivated and shallow that i just couldn't finish it, and I finished first two. Plus, for a thiurd title which was made with so much advancement in coding and technology, the game is surprisingly clunky and glitchy.

I loved Syberia 1 and 2 but Syberia 3 t is just bad. The dialogs are super boring, Youcols are just incapable of doing anything. Controls are just out of control and the camera is the worst I have ever experienced. Playing this was was really painful. Only thing that was ok was the atmoshpere and graphics.

Had to be a masochist to complete this. Concept, visuals etc. are ok, I guess. Story is weaker then 1 and 2. But boy the controls and the weird camera angles switching are horrible. Soon you realize that you cannot play this without a controller, but when you play with controller you realize it is even worse. Basic things like moving and entering and exiting areas are turned into painful experiences. For example you push your joystick forward to make Kate move forward but suddenly the angle switches and in order to make her continue moving forward you had to pull your joystick backwards - the worst game design I have seen to date. Thanks to this not for even a minute you can be immersed in the story like in the previous two games - you are too busy battling the controlls. And the funny part is that it is getting worse when you progress in the game. I simply quit a couple of hours before the end and would watch a playthrough. If you are a fan of 1 and 2 you will play this no matter the reviews but you will end up frustrated for sure. I can't imagine people preordering this game and paying full price. I have the feeling that this game was on the verge of not releasing but they had put too much money in it and released it in this state. Also horrible bugs on exiting some areas as you simply cannot continue because everything is too zoomed and you have to randomly click with the mouse for 20 seconds to exit this state. Not to be able to save the game at will is also a bad design. Unskipable dialogs also. This is not a pc game, it is a bad port from consoles, but i would guess that it would be bad on ps4 also.

Only play if you already love Syberia. Part 3 continues with the fascinating automaton theme, generally nice atmosphere and soundtrack, and can be enjoyable in parts. However, all negative reviews are true. The camera is bad, the controls are horrible when walking or solving puzzles, the mouse disappears during puzzles, the render videos are outdated even by 2017 standards.

But for me the worst let down is the story line. It's literally two days of getting a few natives down the road over a bridge. That's it. Quite the adventure that, thanks.

Syberia 3 has a lovely story of a journey in the beautiful world introduced in the previous games. It is generally a worthy successor if the original two games also fascinated you, now focusing on the Youkol tribe as Kate Walker becomes a great friend and companion to them on their journey. Classic style adventure and most of the time well balanced puzzle difficulty: not terribly easy, but not frustrating. I was not disappointed overall.

However despite leaving a thumbs up, I have to say the game lacks some polish. There's a bunch of unpleasant glitches. The game was clearly programmed with the idea of consoles in mind and, as such, seems to combine really clumsily the ability to control it with the mouse with the ability to move and perform actions with a controller. If playing with the mouse is your preferred method, you'll find it pretty inconvenient at times when navigating the interfaces, manipulating some movable objects or sometimes even walking. There was a place in the game where mouse clicks made the character walk towards some fences and it was impossible to leave the area without using the keyboard. There's a couple of little annoyances like that. On top of it there's only a single, automatic save game. If you want to go back, you'd better manually make backups of the save file.

My experience despite these problems was still positive. I think the interesting adventure outweighed the slight annoyances for me, so I would certainly still recommend this game to fans of Syberia 1 & 2, which are the games I recommend playing first.

PS. I wish there was no cliffhanger. Cliffhangers should be illegal. Please finish the story you started, dear developers.

Boy do i wish to give a good review about this game but unfortunately i cant.
When i saw that another syberia was on the way i tought i sould play this one to know were the story was going.
For the fan of syberia be wary, you wont find the same vibe as the firts and second game sadly.
its has so many bug that ruine the game:
-bad camera angle
-lots of clipping
-mouse disappear
-the controle are awful mainly because of the camera.
it make me sad i wish i could have enjoye the game like i did with the other syberia.

Play it if your are a fan, if not dont touch this game go play the other ones.

I just played this simply because Syberia 4 is not far off and I wanted to catch up on the story. But I have to say, it is so full of bugs. I kept loosing the cursor, and twice a character got stuck and couldn't be moved. When I searched online, I found these bugs were reported three years ago, and yet they have never been fixed. I am not sure what that says about the lead developer. In addition, finding your way around is a pain. Dreadful controls.

Other than that, it is pretty enough, but it is a weak story line, the script is abysmal (or the translation is - I suspect it is both), and I am glad it was being sold off cheap.

I played more than half of this game. I was wondering why people say there are so many bugs then I understood. The interface is so full of bugs, control in this game is so frustrating, but I overlooked it until I got to a point where the bug was so bad that I couldn't select any options. It had potential after the first and second game, but the 3rd .. better graphics, but that's it. Buy the game if you want to become frustrated. I certainly am, you can't even imagine how annoyed I am that I leave a game unfinished. I hope that the developers will solve the problem with the bugs.

Even though I only played a couple of hours, and finished both Syberia & Syberia 2 more than once, and was really looking forward to playing this game...
And even though I personally hate abandoning games, and not playing them through...
I don’t think I will be playing this game anymore.

Let me try to explain why:
GRAPHICS
Historically late 1980s - early 1990s was the high point of 2D point & click adventure games. They were one of the most popular game genres, sold really well (for the time) and every studio seemed to be working on them, which made their market extremely saturated.

Towards the middle-end of the 1990s, the computer graphics were moving over to 3D and CD-ROMs, so point & click games tried to catch up by moving to VFM and 3D graphics as well.
This turned out to be a total disaster because making VFM or 3D games was super expensive at the time. While there was little experience in making them, so the quality was not great.
And the market was full of different adventure games, so none of them could sell enough copies to justify the huge investment (the gaming market was much smaller back then than today).
All of this made these games huge commercial failures.

By the end of 1990s, most, if not all companies creating adventure games either closed down (Sierra, etc.) or shifted to making other games (LucasArts, etc.).

So in 2002, when Syberia was released to the barren wasteland that was the adventure games market, it became a revolution.
Instead of the pretty but outdated 2D graphics, or the then-modern, but ugly 3D graphics, Syberia offered a gorgeous pre-rendered backgrounds, and gorgeous model of the main protagonist, and some well-made pre-rendered cutscenes.
The game was the holy grail what of adventure games were missing - A good looking and popular adventure game, that didn’t cost millions to make.
It was a great commercial success, and influenced numerous different studios to start making adventure games.

Well Syberia 3 is plain ugly.
It’s everything the original Syberia was not: An ugly, expensive, fully 3D adventure game.

CONTROLS
The controls are horrible.
I tried to play using a controller, but it was very clunky as some actions required precision and fine movement which the controller scheme in the game doesn’t allow.
So I tried using a Mouse, but then I discovered that there are some actions that are bugged and don’t work with a mouse.
So I ended up alternating between a Mouse and a controller for different actions.

BUGS
Too numerous to count, and I’m playing the game almost 4 years after it was released.
And the developer has already moved on to working on Syberia:The World Before. So they obviously won’t be patching this game…
I’ve been in 4 locations in the game so far, and had at least 1 game-breaking bug preventing me from progressing in each one.

STORY
In Syberia 1 & 2 the story was mysterious, interesting and well written.
You felt emotionally invested in the protagonist’s success.
In Syberia 3 the story is just bland and boring.
I couldn’t tell you what it was about, if you held a gun to my head.
And the only thing I’m emotionally invested in, is not playing this game anymore.

So while I personally hate abandoning games, and not playing them through - I’m afraid in this case I will be forced to do just that.

So... it's really hard giving a negative recommendation to a Syberia game but I can't really urge anyone to play it. The only positive things are the always great vibes from this imaginary world and the conclusion to the story started so long ago. Graphics range from ok to nice, nothing spectacular but pretty enough to carry the game. Now here come the nasty bits. As most others have pointed out, this game has INFURIATING controls. I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to implement such a terrible system. Furthermore, the camera changes are disorienting and the entire walking around process is a complete mess. Be prepared to spend at least 2-3hrs above actual required time to finish the game just because you will keep wasting time in order to walk properly or use items properly. Finally, the voice acting in English is atrocious, probably the worst I've encountered in decades... and I've been playing such games since their inception... I switched it to French half way and what do you know! it's half decent plus it matches the mouth movements now in the cutscenes. Anyway, this game is a bloody CHORE to play. Too bad because the classic Syberia ambiance is there and the story is pretty decent. If, like me, you are nostalgic about Syberia and wish to experience one last trip to its world, then go ahead but be prepared to be frustrated, a lot!

OK, yes, I've read the reviews and most of the negative ones are exaggerated, so I'd recommend playing this if you play this kind of games for the story and puzzles (or if you are a fan of the series) :)

Yes, this game has issues - the camera is awkward, the controls are weird, the voice acting is .... non-existent in most places, BUT I still enjoyed the game. Some areas are difficult to access (I had to use both keyboard and mouse), but they still look like you SHOULD be able to go there, even though somewhat obscure (due to the awkward camera mentioned above). I also liked that this game was longer than the previous installments (I had about 40% more playtime than for Syberia 2).

In conclusion, it's a pleasing game, which has its issues, but if you like the genre and/or the series and it's on sale, give it a try and keep an open mind :)

The graphics are beautiful. The story is compelling, even if it is pretty bats. But the gameplay is so extraordinarily clunky and the logic behind what you are supposed to do next is so infuriatingly nonexistent at times that ultimately I found this game to be more of a headache than it's worth. It's also just so long. They tried to do way too much compared to the first two games - I think I might have found this one more satisfying and less annoying were it split in two. Anyways, if you love the franchise as I do, by all means play through this. I'm not sorry I did, despite the fact that I don't feel I can in good faith recommend it to anyone else. Just know that you're signing up for a LOT of frustration.

Phew, this one was different from its predecessors. Storywise, it was a solid journey and I was invested in Kate Walker's adventure. She can't run from her problems forever and this game really shows it. However, the controls threw me off greatly and I often struggled with completing the puzzle because of them. The first games had a problem with pixel hunting which was not the issue here, but strange controls frustrated me even more. Overall, this game was not bad per se, but I hope Syberia: The World Before will fix some issues.

I was on the fence about giving this game a positive review, but ultimately, I had fun, and purchased it on a sale, so it definitely wasn't a waste for me.

+ The Puzzles: Easily the best part of the game for me. Nothing quite stumped me, but I enjoyed figuring out some of the more complex quests.
+ There's overall a good amount of content, some great locations to set the atmosphere, and even some fun side characters here and there.
- I wasn't really engaged with the story, and even by the end, was confused by basic elements such as the incredibly generic bad guys' motivations. (Admittedly, even with the first 2 Syberia games I mostly remember the puzzles over the story as well, but those also had a general sense of adventure and discovery that I wasn't really feeling with this one.)
- Game Mechanics: This is actually the second time I'm attempting a playthrough. On my first round, I ended up deleting it out of frustration with the controls, especially after I got stuck on a save point thanks to a bug. (I had a similar issue now as well, but at least with this one, I was able to advance after a while.) In all fairness however, I'm guessing there were a lot of fixes since the initial release, and after switching to a controller, I had a much better time with the game.

Overall, the best I can say about the game is that I had fun, so I'm sticking with my thumbs up regardless of the drawbacks.

Horrendous. Struggling with the mouse controls of Syberia 3 is a frustrating, unrewarding experience. Thank goodness I got this game heavily discounted because the original 40 dollars is an insane price to play for a game hampered by so many glitches.

The story is fine. Actually, I may like it more than the story of Syberia 2 (except Syberia 2 has an ending which feels like it sums up your journey while this is a disaster of an ending). However, the antagonists are so flatly written as the most monstrous evil characters that they are simply unbelievable genocidal maniacs.

The game is beautiful, it has that going for it. But I'm not interested in the Antonioniesque cinematography after wrestling with such terrible controls for so long. Trying to figure out how to spin a handle with awkward mouse movement is torturous, especially toward the end when you get a couple crazy complicated puzzles thrown at you which require fine movement of their components.

What else can I say. The original two Syberia games were enough to get me to play this, and those games had similar problems (beautiful locations with not so great stories). Its the maddening control scheme of this game that puts it into the do not play category. If you played the first two games and you're hooked, maybe give it a look, but otherwise steer clear.

To shortly sum up what kind of an experience Syberia 3 is - it's as if everything that made the previous games beautiful was put in the middle of a road and ran over with a road roller.

The game just truly feels like an early release, an unpolished and quickly developed cash grab - the whole experience of the game is just a bunch poorly thought out ideas, without any second thoughts in regards to how they actually resonate with the player and with the game itself. Empty archetypes were thrown everywhere to form this hollow and unappealing game.

Syberia 2 is truly where the game should have ended - Syberia 3 is a tumour that grew on top of it. And the treatment for tumours is to get rid of them.

I recommend this game only because of the story but at a discount only, unfortunately unlike the first two games this one has many bugs and specially very very bad mouse control, works better with a gamepad but even with that you will not have very smooth puzzle interactions and player control.

After that, I know is strange i'm recommending the game but I really liked the story, so much so that I decided to close my eyes to the bugs and control problems just to see the end.

I really hope the fourth game is better tho, because if is not, I will not be so forgiving with my review next.

It's likely already been said by many others who have played this game and been a fan of the franchise, but this game was a huge let-down. I played Syberia 1 & 2 again leading up to playing this one after seeing the onslaught of negative reviews and hoped that getting back into the feel and mind-set of the point-and-click style game might make my experience more tolerable. It was not.
Somehow, the game developers have managed to take the simple, basic concept of point-and-click and turned it into a living nightmare. As you guide Kate Walker from one are to the next, the shifting of the camera's perspective in the Unity3D manner, makes it nigh impossible to make smooth transitions from one screen to the next. In the older games, you essentially have a flat image which Kate runs across, and you can click the edges of the frame to enter a new scene. In this game, by keeping it all in the same 3D space and environment, it makes the basics of movement mechanics clunky and incredibly frustrating. Frequently do I click somewhere and find Kate running off in the complete opposite direction.
If you don't like the old-fashioned point-and-click, Unity3D has allowed Syberia 3 to reach new heights of using WASD for movement instead. Much better right? Wrong. As you hold your directional keys to lead Kate from one scene to the next, you WILL find yourself juggling those keys as the camera shifts its perspective on you. What was once W is now A and so forth until you find yourself so frustrating that you revert back to using the horrendous point-and-click system. I found myself often alternating between both, depending on which one was the least bad based on that particular scene.
With movement aside, let's discuss object-interactions. Ignoring the fact that when interacting with objects, my cursor would frequently disappear from screen and only returning after simultaneously clicking and shaking the mouse vigorously, object interactions were still some of the worst parts of Syberia 3. Syberia 1 and 2 shared some of these issues, but those games are... old. Old enough for those problems to be excusable. Such excuses can not be made for a 2016-released game. I thought it was brilliant that Syberia 3 introduced a wider variety of interactivity - opening objects requires you to *pry* them open with the cursor, keys need to be turned, parts need to be lifted. It would have been amazing had it not been for the lack of responsiveness offered in these interactions. A slight turn would require me to perform acrobatics with my mouse - if I lightly dragged the mouse to the left, keys would jitter awkwardly to the right; rotating a key worked best with little vigorous circles instead of wide, more intuitive rotating motions. This was clearly hugely unpolished and that's a terrible shame for these interactions form 90% of puzzle games like Syberia. I found it laughable to spot one of the final puzzles of the game to have an achievement if you did so in under 20 iterations - for each of those rotatable mirrors, I had to drag it and let go 5 or 6 times before I got it where I wanted it.
Outside of these two, in my opinion, huge oversights, this game also features extremely long loading screens, long waiting periods between interactions as cameras zoom in and out over ... and over again, and pre-recorded cut scenes that drop frames worse that the actual gameplay does, just to name a few.
What's worse is that I didn't even think that the story was worth all the trouble. A great opportunity to flesh out the Youkol people turned into something that felt borderline insensitive. It reminded me a lot of some of the outdated portrayals of Kate in the first two games. I'm really happy with how she turned out, honestly, as I can instead envision her personality improvements as character development, and she is genuinely an awesome character. The Youkol get portrayed, however, as this primitive, lesser-than 'tribe' of people who require Vodka for their spirits and speak funny. It's a mockery of a fictional group of people! I didn't know I could feel this way about something made up but it just feels insensitive in my core. Beyond that, the interactions you get with the different NPCs along your journey in Syberia 3 have completely lost their 'oomph'. You spend very little time on them and they help you so quickly. This is very much drawing comparison to 1 & 2, and therefore might be an effect of nostalgia, but those first too games felt so much more like a journey you embark on where in discovering all these interesting characters, Kate also discovers herself. In this one, each person you meet feels like a means to an end and nothing else. Especially with Oscar's re-introduction late into the game, who then proceeds barely to be involved outside of the little cute moment you get to play him (which I do genuinely approve of).

I bought this game knowing about the negative reviews but also still having hope that with my contribution and that of many others, that a Syberia 4 might see the light of day. I love this franchise, I love the atmosphere and the Inon Zur soundtrack is wonderful, but I want to see more that what Syberia 3 is. I would even encourage the franchise to go back to the flat image point-and-click set up if a solution to Syberia's 3 movement mechanics can't be truly found. Go back to basics and make sure that the game is about what it's meant to be about: the simple beauty of the Syberian landscape, the intricate sound design associated with the Voralberg inventions, clever, difficult(!) puzzles (perhaps with a bit more attention to intuitivity and rather than just making them unintuitive for the sake of having a complex puzzle), and finally interesting, fleshed-out characters who serve a purpose to the *story*.

I gave it a shot and put in about 10 hours of gameplay. Honestly all the reviews are correct. The controls are awful, just simply terrible. It is slow moving and quite boring and really uninspired. Stay away from this mess. I don't know what happened here... Hope Syberia 4 is better. 4/10

Mind I haven't finished the game. I got to meet Oscar and after that i just uninstalled it. Can't do these infinite chores anymore because it's honestly torturous experience. The game is long and has tons of bugs. I have never been a huge fan of the series, but I enjoyed previous games still. This game turned out to be one the worst adventure game I ever played.
I did love the youkols, I enjoyed the soundtrack, some areas were pretty cute, the puzzles were interesting and yet...this game is awful. Glad there gonna be another game and it seems to be better? At least I hope so.

I challenge you to play through the 'Give Steiner his medication' so called 'puzzle' and not rage uninstall on the spot. As a great fan of the first two games, I had steered clear of this one based on the sheer negativity of the reviews. Even dyed-in-the-wool fans denounced this one. I got it as part of a bundle for about a euro or so, a while back.

Only got to playing it after I actually enjoyed the Syberia : Worlds Apart demo. I figured, hell, I might as well catch up on the story.

This is a very pale imitation of a Syberia game. The enviroments are there, bits of the wondrous lore can be found, but 99% of it comprises of terrible voice acting (it literally feels like 20 year old unemployed extras phoned in every single part in the game with absolutely zero context on the characters, situations or story), wooden animations, off kilter lip sync and very poor writing.

Syberia 3 is something you suffer through in crazy hopes of Syberia: Worlds Apart being actually good.

As a huge fan of the first two Syberia games (especially Syberia 1), I must say that this game was an utter disappointment and doesn't really live up to the standards in storytelling and acting that the first two games have come to be known for.

First, the positives. The environments look great and have been lovingly crafted and it shows. Also, the soundtrack is top-notch.

Now that we've got all this out of the way...

The thing that broke the experience for me right from the start was the voice acting and bad lip-sync. The voices don't match the characters at all, especially the vaillains.

The second thing was the gameplay and the way that actionable objects are presented to the player. The control is pretty tedious, the camera can be awful sometimes, obscuring important elements and some things are only accessible after a certain conversation.

Third, the story is much weaker than in the first games. The first game put you in the shoes of a lawyer that gets sidetracked into exploring a steampunk Soviet-style world that seems stuck in time, continuing to exist in a bubble. It pushed you to expore through those environments by creating a relatable universe, especially for Eastern European players. And by the end, you were no longer the lawyer seeking to do her job, but on your way to fulfill a dying man's childhood dream in the second game. Discovering a long lost civilization, forgotten by time and sheltered from the mordern world and the legendary mammoths. The third game just tries to combine all of what made the first two games charming, but doesn't even manage to do it properly, it is a mixed bag of elements that are poorly pieced together to form a story arc that doesn't really know where it wants to go. And the villains... They're just derivative carricatures that belong in a 70s cartoon show (but with way worse voice acting).

***SPOILER***
The thing that annoyed me the most is that they revived Oscar. I did love him in the first two games and his road towards becoming more human was an extraordinary one, but reviving him now just made his sacrifice in the second game meaningless and it pained me to see that.
***SPOILER***

By the time I finished the game I was just sad because everything that made the first two games special was overused and shoved in your face, sad that the game doesn't really know how to convey the idea that Kate Walker had lost her direction, having given up her job and her love life to fulfill Hans' dream. It could have been so much more and could have told such a beautiful story, but it just wasn't meant to be, sadly.

Lots of walking and time required to run back and forth for simple stuff. The ending has no payoff, with an unresolved cliffhanger and lots of storyline pieces left hanging like they intended to make a sequel but didn't. Would have been a better game in VR because the world created was very detailed and gameplay would be more immersive and puzzles would use hand manipulation instead of point and click. Good concept, bad implementation.

I have heard this game is not as good as the first two, but guess I will never know for myself - the inability to save the game wherever I choose makes gameplay very tedious and frustrating. I don't WANT to sit through a long cutscene again and again just because I needed to stop playing before the game chose to autosave. It only cost me $3, but I'm sorry I bought it.

It was disappointing, as I knew it would be. I loved Syberia 1 and 2 when they appeared, then I was surprised to see all the negative comments for S3. I still looked forward to it, but then I got a lot of negative comments from good friends who had also loved the originals. Thus, I waited for 3 years before buying it with 90% off.

Boy, am I glad I didn't pay full price for this. It was buggy, slow, had a very awkward camera and most of the puzzles were either too simple, or just plain stupid. There was no feeling of engagement (terrible voice-overs killed most of that anyway: 20 year old hipster voice on a 60+ character, anyone?), no real challenges (apart from deciding in some puzzles whether it was me who was dumb, the camera that was awkward or there was a bug -- most of the times, it was the last two).

I really really wanted to like this, which is also why I stuck with it till the end. I thought it had picked up in the last quarter or so, but the ending killed any hope. It was terrible, from start to finish (especially the finish).

Sadly, after almost 20 years, even if I'm a bit nostalgic, this 3rd episode does not live up to my expectations.

Even if the story in itself was interesting, everything else about this game was a painful letdown. If graphically this sequel is walking in the steps of its predecessors, it's also hauling all their flaws like a burden that I cannot excuse in a modern game. The only time I have felt that frustrated about bad controls, stiff animations, poor voice acting and horrible gameplay ergonomics is when I'm trying out some early access games. At least, with those you can still expect them to improve with time, but this is apparently not something Microids thought they needed doing before releasing such a pale shadow of a once nice game concept.

My only consolation is that I only made the buy when it was on a big sale.

it's the first syberia game that i actually tried to play,

well, i noticed very quickly that it's almost unplayable for me without using a guide.
either i'm not that smart, or some of the quests and their required items don't make much sense. ( or both?)

the storytelling and characters are lovely, the world design is beautiful, but also confusing.
for example when you get to the port area, there are extremly long walk ways to get to the destination you need to reach to basically be able to continue with the story.

without a guide, as mentioned, it would take ages and i probably would have given up much earlier.

conversations with other characters in game feel weird and very unemotional, almost like talking to soulless robots.

regardless of the negative points, i really would have loved to see the outcome of the game, but i reached a point where i couldn't continue any further because the screen symbols were bugged.

i just couldn't click the buttons that i needed to progress, because the game didn't react. i tried via laptop, via pc, with different resolutions, but the screen symbols where just not accessable anymore, so in the end i just gave up and uninstalled the game.

if they ever patch it and make it playable i would say, buy it, but in it's current state it's a no from me.

Great game for anyone that has played Syberia 1 & 2. I would love to see even more games, but you also have to be careful not to run a franchise into the ground. A few glitches where Kate will walk behind someone and become trapped. Most times, changing direction helps, Ive had to quit the game once to reset it, since she was trapped between a mental patient and a wall lol. Otherwise a great game! Highly recommend.

Awful controls (hello consoles!), stupid camera, glitchy as hell (i had at leat 30 blue screens, forced reboots etc while playing it), but... the game itself is way better than it's reviews. Thank you dear mr. Sokal for the another chance to immerse in the beautiful fairytale.

Dear developers, if you ever plan to make Syberia 4 (i really hope so!), please make it a 2D or 2.5D point-and-click, not the 3D console bastard which is tbh as horrible to play with a controller, as with a mouse. And please add manual saves, only checkpoints is never a good idea.

This game is so bad I don't know where to start. I loved Syberia and Syberia 2 a bit less, so I decided to purchase this one too so that I could finish the story. Luckily it was on sale because it's not worth anybody's money. The story is boring and superficial but if that were the only problem it'd be like many other average/mediocre point and click games. Unfortunately that's not the worst part. Controls works so badly that the playability of this game is seriously affected. Moving the cursor is difficult, walking is difficult, completing puzzles is difficult... All because of how clumsy controls are. I've cursed more than a sailor while playing this game. Definitely a big NO.

Terrible game and experience. I loved 1 (all great), 2 was okay-ish (story was great, but some puzzles were quite simply and logically stupid and caused them to severely detract from the story‘s/world’s immersiveness), but I’ve completed them both twice.

Syberia 3 however, terrible story, okay-ish puzzles but some badly implemented, as well as new mechanics that destroy the experience (interactive parts only showing they’re interactive AFTER certain dialogues, forcing you to recheck the every single area that you’ve already carefully checked in case they’ve now suddenly made something else interactive...also, interactive parts sometimes being out of view/frame unless you’re lucky and get a glimpse of the ui showing it for half a second before it disappears, but it can just as easily not even show said glimpse). Strangely I had no issue with controls (I used a controller), you just have to learn that you switch between the different interactive options but “tapping” the analog stick in the desired direction (not holding).

All in all, the devs deserve no money for this product and you’re simply better off watching a walkthrough to see the story (which is crap anyway, doesn’t resemble a curios “world” to discover, unlike in the previous 2 games). Seriously, don’t even bother getting it free, I‘m more annoyed about what a waste of time this was than about how much it cost me.

As a fan of Syberia 1+2, I'm really sad to say that Syberia 3 is not recommended.

The story is as good as its predecessor, but the puzzles are at times atrocious.

There are 2 problems with the puzzles, one was that there were a couple puzzles that were just illogical and need to brute force the solution with trial and error. Brute forcing might be okay if the puzzle has less then 10 iterations, but when the combination was daunting, brute forcing a solution is just tedious.
Other than that, the main problem with the puzzle was that some of the items are hidden in location I don't even know exist.

And there lie the greatest problem with Syberia 3. The map, camera angle and navigation are all fighting each other to confuse as much as possible. Because of the camera angle, when using mouse, there are so many screen transition that are too obscure to click. I know there's a doorway there, but the camera angle limits its click area to enter. For example when you're seeing a doorway almost perpendicular to the screen.
On the other hand using controller, going through screen transition with the stick pressed in one direction, suddenly rotates the character movement when the camera switch sides on transition. Climbing up a flight of stairs (the bane of every Syberia titles) would always suddenly turn her back down when the screen switch to upper level.

While we're at it, there's another set of trouble with using controller / mouse. They just can't set their mind on which one we should use. With controllers, the commands are set on 4 face buttons on controller but most of the time there's only 1 option, so why bother setting different command on different buttons? At most they should use just 2 buttons, USE and LOOK, and make them available on every point instead of some items only can be looked at, some others can only be used. With mouse, you can't even access the command options easily when they give more than 1 option.

Then there's the menu and inventory. It's not a huge problem with controller, but they don't know how to deal with M+K. In menu back button labelled with Esc, but in inventory Back button labelled with Back. The inconsistency makes it so confusing.

On the last point, there's also no pause or skip conversation button.

I loved the first two games, so it was tough to eventually come to terms that this was a bad game. Delayed production led to a game filled with bugs and graphics that weren't modern for the date of release. When the big pull is the scenery and adventure and you don't keep up with modern graphics it's a negative. What really infuriated me though was the system of controls. They implemented a 3D modeling system that switches between fixed camera angles that's near impossible to use in any tight quarters. The mouse disappears frequently, it's hard to walk where you want, and some other odd behaviors made by really dislike the game by the time I got to the end. The cherry on top was some of the walk-back fetch quests that were unnecessary like finding Oscar's clothes.

What a trip ... I think I have to write this Review for the Fans of Syberia 1 and 2, but also to make a Picture for new Players, who are less interessted from the many negative recessions here but also by public testings of Syberia 3. Benoit Sokal has been persuaded to produce a third part of a saga that actually ended with the first two Kate Walker Adventures. But imagine it like this: The Production Company will contact you and talk to you about continuing the most recognizable product so far. It was the most successful work by Microids and Benoit Sokal that the Players also think about most. So less Risk than working on something New. And Risk is the big Problem these days. So, as a Player, you should also react particularly sensitively before you talk a Product into the ground, because that could influence the Future of further sequels and the existence of the Company. It is praiseworthy that both Microids and Benoit Sokal have responded to the call of the Fans and have decided to continue Syberia, and you can also see that they have given some thought to what point they should start from. Until from a technical point of view, which I do not go into now, but which do not make it unplayable, the Game has remained true to its roots of being an adventure and laudably tries to adapt it to a new era in order to continue the Puzzle and Storytelling as Fans of previous Adventures are used to.

The decision to use Gamepad Controls was a very good decision and brings new challenges with Puzzles. This feature is criticized by some Reviewers, probably older players, because they think, that the developers did not want to stick to the point 'n click Controls. It is not so. Get involved with the Gamepad to experience a better control over the Character and the new 3D Environment. I just think that the Develope should have also support the Vibration-Functions in the end.

About the content: Syberia 3 is full of Puzzles, sometimes difficult, sometimes less difficult, but very clever and challenging. The whole Adventure captivates you with its characters, above all, of course Kate Walker, she has been almost perfected here because she is almost alone responsible for every new situation and for every progress in the game. But it also fits into this time, which is why you can tell the Developers have been thinking. You can compare it to other well-known Characters who act masterfully in their genres, Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, the Belmonts in Castlevania or Alyx in Half-Life. All Characters who have stayed true to their genres and do their best, despite adapting to a new era, be it from 2D to 3D, from Platformer to Action Platformer or from 3D shooter to VR ...

The Adventure are accompanied by an epic Music composed by Inon Zur. The Music Producer, who has already created the Title Melody for Syberia 2, 13 Years ago. He proves with his suitable soundtrack that he is one of the biggest in the Industry, and can be called with Names like Nobuo Uematsu. His Sounds will always remind you of this unforgettable Adventure, even after the End of the Game.

I still can't decide if I am going to recommend this game or not. I am eager to continue following the story of Kate Walker but a hell - how hard it is! The locations navigation makes my head go round, every single click makes me feel my mouse is broken. It's like trying to steer a car with a chopstick. If you enjoyed previous parts of the story - you might decide to force yourself to finish this one as well. Otherwise - there is no reason to experience this pain.

Το έπαιξα σε adventure mode. Το Mouse εξαφανίζεται, WTF;

Ok - this may be the first review I have ever written despite the many many many hours I have spent on Steam in the past 10 years. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Just watch the cut scenes on youtube. Look, I loved Syberia and Syberia 2. This is also a decent story and the music is good but the game mechanics are just unbearable. I tried it with a controller and a mouse + keyboard, tried adjusting the mapping but everything is so tedious and annoying. Also, these 'puzzles' are very sub par compared to its predecessors. The audio is also hilarious since they are obviously in Syberia, with Russian sounding names and keep referring to Kate as an American yet all have American accents lol. The audio also misses words from time to time - and it is evident. I got this game as a gift a few years ago and only just got around to playing (thanks to quarantine) and it is the only reason I tried to press on - I would have returned it otherwise. Game mechanics are just so tedious - I got 3/4 of the way through and was like: this is so not worth it.

With a heavy heart, being a long fan of Syberia series, I have to give it a negative review.
I've only played 47 minutes of it, but technically it is stuck in the last decade, if not earlier.
Bad voice acting, no lip sync, cranky controls. I wanted to give this game a chance, but I could not stand the annoying voice of the main character, and awkward conversations.

I liked the idea of having to move objects to operate them, but the execution is simply not there. Amnesia did it better, and that says a lot.

Perhaps I'll get back to it if someone bothers to fix it. Please do, it could be a nostalgia driven money giver to Microids. Although I suppose you would have to re-write it and re-record the dialogues together with the bugfixes, so probably will never going to happen.
That's why I decided to get a refund.

This is an excellent game that captivates you right from the start. If you played Siberia 1 and 2, you will certainly enjoy it. The only shortcoming is that the interface became a little more confusing.

It could have been pretty good game, but controls, sluggish animations and annoying loadings kills every joy from this game. I finished it only to know the finale of the story and I didn't even got it - there is open ending with cliffhanger that clearly suggest that there will be Syberia 4. I hope they fix controls till then.

+ Music
+ Story

- Terrible controls - I switched between M+K and gamepad, and there is no convenient way to play this game
- Camera
- Loadings and slow animations
- It does not really adds anything to the story from Syberia 1 and 2, this is just completely separate story with only minor references to previous games.

I liked the first two thirds of this game but as it started drawing to its end i started to grow tired of it and then found the ending completely underwhelming. I like the updated format they used and while stuff here was a little more obvious than the previous games, it still required some thinking.
The voice acting's never been that great, but here it's probably the weakest, there are some voices that just don't seem to match the character and I don't like one of the voice changes they had.
It is quite buggy and also I didn't like that you couldn't skip any dialogue
like you could in previous ones.
Overall i can see why people regard this as the weakest one of the series, it is a little difficult to fully recommend, but i still enjoyed my time with it.

I love the Syberia series, this isn't that. The immersive artwork is not the same, the music is lack luster. Syberia 1 and 2 I got goosebumps getting something right. This is just uncomfortable dialogues. It really lost the art aspect the previous two had. Couple this with a horrible UI where you loose your mouse pointer and can soft lock yourself into states where you have to start from the beginning. It's horrible. I'm really sad, the previous games were pivotal for me and this is just depressing. I'm playing this two years after it was released and the bugs are atrocious. The Devs obviously took their money and ran.

I do not recommend buying it even on a 99% discount. Reason: it's nowhere near half as good as previous two installments of Syberia. No way

I got this game because I loved the first two. Wish I'd given this one a miss, it is even more clunky than the two over a decade ago.

Great writing but a STRUGGLE to play. Mouse pointer constants dissapears and is innacurrate. Click targets very finnicky. Camera doesnt always change when going to different areas. So many technical difficulties I am about to give up. I really enjoyed the first 2 games and want to finish this one but it is practically unplayable from control and game flaws.

I wanted to recommend this game; I would of said to look past the horrible controls, technical issues, really bad voice acting (Apart from Kate Walker's VA, who at least returns from the first 2 games, almost none of the voice actors fit their characters with a couple of exceptions) and the really ridiculous villains just to finish Kate's journey.

...but then it ends on an awful cliff hanger; the first 2 Syberia games were enjoyable because they were about a personal journey and ended on a high note. This one ends terribly - and the game even has the gall to call the final achievement 'it's not the destination that matters'

The 'villains' are atrocious. You have a colonel with an eye patch chasing after Kate for....reasons? and a doctor too, who wants to stop the Youkols from migrating because...nomads don't belong in this current age and should be forced to settle down, and for that reason you follow them around and set up a convoluted scheme to stop them? Not to mention the PD from Syberia 2 apparently changed his mind about giving up the search for Kate. It's absolutely bonkers. Kate also seemed to have already moved on from her past in the 2nd game but now she's having doubts again.

I would only recommend playing this if a Syberia 4 is eventually brought out to resolve the ending to this one, otherwise steer clear and pretend that the series ended with 2. The first 2 have their flaws but are still charming adventures and worth going through if you enjoy adventure games.

I think it is the only game I finished against my will.
* The story is really not on par with previous ones.
* The visuals are mediocre and while the artistry is there, it was shadowed by camera angles and low level textures.
* The controls...Ah the controls..I don't know where to begin. I played (or tried) this game using both controller, mouse and keyboard at the same time and it still disappointed me at times.
I've waited 7 years for this game and I gave couple of years for them to polish it. It is playable now but still has many bugs and problems. I wish they could also wrap the story at the end rather than making an open ending.
It is not bad game per se. You will still enjoy Syberia 3 if you enjoyed previous ones but don't get too excited. And puzzles are not that challenging. Really challenge was the controls to control the puzzle itself.

I saw the bad reviews and bought this game out of curiosity but consider it a big mistake.
The controls feel like they're a first draft, not part of a playable game.
The lack of manual saving made me have to rewatch many cutscenes. I mean...I'm sorry, there are plenty of reasons why I personally suddenly had to leave the game - I had to leave it hanging open and draining battery, though, unless I wanted to replay parts of the game.
The puzzles were all terrible. I'm not sure what the whole thing about dragging the mouse to move an object contributed, other than making the icebreaker puzzle particularly masochistic.
Other puzzles that were disappointing:
- the mirror puzzle? The mirrors would only stop in certain places making it easy to know where to shine them.
- the chair puzzle in the stadium? With the sacrifice and pain and death? I haven't found a walkthrough or community discussion that actually explains WHY the answer is what it is.

The plot is bad as well - the villains are uninteresting. The only interesting thing about the guy with the eyepatch is...his eyepatch. The villains seem to become way less interesting halfway through. The red moon ceremony scene is brought up as an interesting new plot point then barely explored at all.

The ending is a twist for the sake of a twist. Syberia 1's ending is an exciting decision that shows what's been changing in Kate throughout the whole game. Syberia 2's ending is the journey come to an end that's, in my opinion, satisfying. This ending is only ambiguously foreshadowed once and doesn't leave me feeling too much after getting over the surprise at the twist.

If curiosity gets the better of you as well...just watch a walkthrough on YouTube. This is not worth $30.00 in my opinion.
