Whenever we think of Sherlock or Watson, we never think of them as separate individuals so much, do we? They are one of the most iconic duos of pop culture. So if you are a big fan of the two, you’re probably wondering how they fit within the world we created. Well, let us explain. Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is set in London in the latter months of 1882. It follows on from the events that took place in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. For the last year, Sherlock and John have been roommates at the not-yet-iconic 221B Baker Street apartment in London. They are just roommates for now. Each has his own life and problems but they live together because they have no other choice. Sherlock is doing some odd and small detective cases around the neighbourhood, while John is trying to restart his medical career after coming back from the war in Afghanistan. Sherlock is still his arrogant self, missing his best friend Jon from Cordona. However, he is taking a shine to Watson - he enjoys his company. John on the other hand is tinkering with his hobby, writing novels, and he uses Sherlock’s cases as an inspiration. They are two young men doing their own thing and sharing a living space - pretty far from the iconic duo that we know. You might say that they are still trying to figure out who they are. Until one September day a trivial case, the vanishing of a Maori servant, would take them on an adventure to four countries, two continents, and places in their minds that they didn’t know existed. You might say that Sherlock Holmes The Awakened tells the story of how perhaps the greatest crime-fighting duo of all time started. It’s the origin story of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. There are other emotions and arcs that will be intertwined within the story, ones that also trace back to our previous game Sherlock Holmes Chapter One.
