Was ich in ca. 30 Minuten erlebt habe:

I had a couple other hangups as well, which honestly wouldn't have had much on an impact on my experience if it weren't for the repetition issue. One is that the self-defense mechanics, while they do mostly work, are also mostly pointless. When you're being pursued by a stalker, there doesn't seem to be that much difference between turning and throwing a glass at them to buy yourself more time, and simply running and hiding under a piece of furniture. The other is that the story just doesn't make all that much sense. It wasn't that I couldn't keep track of what was going on, it was that, like with the dozens of diversion items littered all over the mansion, keeping track didn't provide anything I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Throughout the game, you uncover clues exposing a story that involves people doing a bunch of messed up things to each other, but it's never clear to me why or what it's supposed to mean.
Ultimately, I just felt like I was putting a lot more into this game than I was getting out of it, and who needs that.

The story is very intricate with lots of twists and turns, though if you don't follow along carefully; you may be left scratching your head and need further clarification through external sources.
The gameplay is a typical cat-and-mouse thrill, after a while you get a sense of what you expect the rest of the game to play like; playing the game with headphones on does enhance the experience and get your heart racing. You may be left disappointed by a feeling of linearity; you need this object, find this object and return, use object to proceed; rinse and repeat. The story and stalker-like atmosphere helps to keep you entertained.
Graphically the game is really nice, making use of the unreal engine; character models are good and enemy design is relatively unique.
Overall I enjoyed this game, had to play it twice to wrap my head around the story; given it was developed by a 'young' studio; with this being their first production as far as I am aware, I am willing to overlook the sometimes repetitive mechanics and instead applaud them based on the atmosphere and story.
Would be very interesting to see this turned into a film.

The story is interesting from start to finish. The pace of narrative is very pleasing; exposure is not too little nor too much, not too soon nor too late. There are several plot twists as you would expect from an adventure with mysteries.
Related to gameplay, it's pretty standard survival horror. You need to be stealthy most of the time, but enemies can be outrun if you think fast and don't panic (too much). You can pick up items for distraction and for self defense.
Voice acting is top notch. Sound effects are extremely immersive because they fit very well. The sound quality is not too great. You can feel a bit of cheapness... maybe caused from the recorder or the recording studio. Totally excusable considering this is an indie title. The music is... I want to buy the OST album!
The game lasts 6½ to 7½ hours depending how long it takes you to solve puzzles and how patient you are with stealth.

Remothered is a horror survival game where you need to avoid your enemies. You have to be clever and stay out of their sight, because you can't permanently dispose of them. You can just hinder them for a while with a set of items that can distract them. Your main objective is to get out of the locked house and that means that you spent your time in the same environment. In short, you go from the upper floor down and then from the base floor up… yeah. As you progress through the story new rooms open for you, but it still feels somewhat tedious to go around the house. You can save your progress only on specific spots, shining mirrors, where you can also heal any injuries you suffer in an encounter with the enemy. It breaks as you are using it, in the end you won't be able to use it for healing anymore. Once you load your save though it will be repaired and ready to use again. Bit of a wasted potential here (although I am no fan of these kinds of challenges).
Atmosphere of the game is sometimes fine, with interesting realistic graphics and good music. I liked the house design, very detailed and overall grim. Characters on the other hand were a little bit unconventional. Sometimes they brought up laughter instead of horror (I am still not sure why he was going around naked). Also the voice acting is not so good, I just couldn't connect with the characters... especially with Rosemary, which is bad.
As the story is focused on uncovering a horrible secret, we get few opportunities to learn more about Dr. Felton and his family. Collectible items that are hidden around the house will shed some light on the mystery… Sadly, too little. (Side note - found collectibles don't save until you save your progress, so if you die and load it up, you have to go and collect that item again.) Some information was confusing and the end didn't offer any closure. Story somewhat continues in the next game Remothered: Broken Porcelain, as I understand it, but I am not sure if I am that interested to follow it.
Now let's talk about the gameplay. For my taste Rosemary is walking really slowly, it's probably because of her high heels as she tries to set some serious appearance. This I understand, but what was driving me mad was the fact that she keeps her shoes on even after learning that she is locked in the house with some psycho who hunts her down if she makes even the tiniest sound. First thing I would do is to take those shoes down!!! Nope, she remains in them almost to the end. Meh, once she is without them she gets silent as a mouse.
For your survival it is essential to know the whereabouts of your enemies. This aspect works pretty poorly in Remothered. You can meet up to two enemies in the house, never at the same time. If one's around, the other is not. Another thing is that they are somewhat teleporting through the house. I didn't understand how they got before you when you left them behind you… Your enemies make sounds that sell them off, that would be fine if it wouldn't be useless. If you don't see them close to you, you can't very well tell where they are. It always sounds like they are next to you even if they are on another floor. I was playing with my headphones and I couldn't locate them, which proved frustrating, especially when you are standing on the staircase, or in complete darkness, and trying your best not to run into them… The game basically forces you into these kind of confrontations and it's very tiresome to avoid them.
I am not sure what to think about this game. Concept is interesting as are some of the mechanics, but the overall outcome is a little bit awkward. I also find the story too weak for a story focused game. Positive thing is that it's a rather short game and you will be quickly done with it (I have made two whole runs because of missing achievement). Grab it during sale, if you are interested.

refreshingly original enemy designs,
and a story that was actually interesting with twists and turns.
Just a shame the gameplay was really stiff and awkward,
and the pacing of the story was bizarre.
Still think it's worth playing since it's a nice, genuine, one-and-done experience,
but there's definitely more quality horror games out there you can buy first.

The bad parts. The game is quite difficult at times and I had to go online to look at guides to get past some sticking points. Its very easy to get lost, so much so that it is frustrating. The story requires you to find a long chain of items in the house, and they have to be found in a certain order. I had trouble finding the first big item I needed and so i was stuck and could not progress. Once you find an item then that unlocks more of the game and allows you to progress. Some are hard to find. Another bad thing is that you can only save at just a few places in the house, at mirrors with metronomes. You end up dying a lot and then have to replay parts over and over. That frustrated me.
There is some skill involved in sneaking around, and that part I did enjoy some and found that by the end of the game I was getting better at doing it. If you dont mind a tough challenge and not being able to save when it is convenient then you might like this better than me. For me, too much of the game was just an exercise in frustration. Too bad because I think I could have liked it a lot better.
I also bought the 2nd part of this series and am hoping that some of my gripes are gone now.

I wouldn't say it is much of a horror game.
Some controls can be a bit annoying when trying to open a certain drawer and such.
It is nice to be able to explore a lot even if certain areas unlocks as you progress.
If you want to get the complete story you would need to play Broken Porcelain (story is good in it thou it has some other issues).

☑️ If you like to rush things (skipping cutscene, hate to explore environments...) the game might be short for you
☑️ Didn't face any glitch except one interaction that failed to execute but resetting the game fixed it
☑️ Game take a bit of time to launch the first time, do not worry it works you just need to be patient
☑️ Framerates are good and it runs perfectly on my laptop at max settings, graphic is nice to watch
☑️ The story is interesting and the house atmosphere is on point for an horror game
☑️ It fails to built up tension, Mr. Felton can be actually amusing to watch (LOL), you will understand it once you the play the game
☑️ Interesting fact: Dr. Reed is not the athletic type, she starts panting as soon as she starts running

- A great atmosphere
- Rich and well-written screenplay
- Overall successful decors
- Many references
- Drawbacks :
- Dated gameplay
- Frustrating game mechanics
- Uneven graphics
Summary : Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a title marked by the importance of its story and its atmosphere, and a tribute to psychological horror games and a whole section of cinema and literature. Nevertheless, it remains an adventure marred by the rigidity of its gameplay and the frustration generated by some too old school mechanics in 2018. The title will appeal to players who rely more on an undeniable writing quality than on complex gameplay. Its lifespan, which varies between 5 and 8 hours, will delight lovers of short but intense adventures.

Nevertheless, the story is riddled with references to various horror pieces, such as Dario Argento's iconic Suspiria and Demme's Silence of the Lambs, which make for twisted and engaging fun. I only wish there was a native Italian dub since a portion of the voice acting leaves something to be desired. Although its flaws mean it never quite lives up to its inspiration, Remothered is still ridiculously engaging, has an intriguing story, and at times scared my big girl pants off. Respect.

The character designs were amazing, reflecting the characters in such a great and simple way, with even the little details that show the dedication and love put into them.
Antagonists have such unique appereances that stand out and present different threats. In a setting where the gameplay works perfectly to make you understand you're trapped in with them. Knowing exactly how to keep you on edge and terrified.
Story itself is a one of a kind mystery that even if it seems overwhelming at first it never stops being engaging and compelling to unfold. With such an emotional impact at the end of it.
The soundtrack has so much love put into it that it manages to pull at your heartstrings and it has the love of the story woven into it. Both reflecting and foreshadowing what the story is about in such a meaningful way.
I cannot express enough how much of an amazing thing this is. A must in horror and story telling. The series as a whole is just a refreshing and unique take on the genre.

The voice acting is terrible enough to break the immersion of what would otherwise be a decent story. The sudden animations make the enemies very unpredictable. The graphics are awful enough to make the gore laughable instead of frightening. You can't differentiate between sounds that are upstairs or downstairs. The enemy can hear you running anywhere in the house and they'll be there right away, even if they were supposed to be on a different floor, the enemy will always end up on the same floor you're on very quickly, even if you snuck away quietly enough, which removes a large part of strategizing. The AI shouldn't possess the knowledge of my approximate area at all times. 4.5 out of 10 stars.

The game story is executed by director nicely, however the story could have been improved, there were many unanswered questions in the last, gameplay are around 3 hours depending how you play it. If they had made gameplay for 8 -15 hours I would have loved it more.
The main Character (Dr. reed) in starting was showing real alpha female characteristics, but when she got stuck in the Mansion, she turned into a weeping crying character.
Gameplay sometimes feels limited, she could not jump, she could not do much harm to the monsters.
Apart from this the Art work, design is awesome, I did not encounter any bug in the game.
The soundtrack and music, sfx are just next level, the combination of perfect lighting and artwork/graphics and most/sfx makes it damn scary, especially when you were being chased by monsters, aaaaahhhhhhaaa.........

All in all a pretty solid horror title. Flawed? Definitely. Interesting and worth a play through for horror fans? Also a resounding yes. I'm not sure that it's worth the €20 price tag though, given its problems I would recommend picking this up in a sale as opposed to paying the full price for it.
So what's good and what's not so good?
Pros:
- Really good graphics and lighting.
- Interesting story that kept me interested right to the end.
- A nice bit of suspense as you try to explore without the stalkers finding you.
- Some sections of the game are quite challenging.
- No auto saves or hand holding here. A proper save system is in place so you have to *find* save points. Nice bit of added challenge and suspense arises from this.
Cons:
- It's really much too dark. I understand that's *the whole idea* but honestly it really is far too dark. To the point where it becomes a nuisance.
- QTEs became very prominent at one point. Just out of nowhere. Instant death if you miss one. Thankfully this section is short lived.
- The beginning chapter of the game is pretty vague. You have no real idea of where to go or what to do. I spent ages wandering around pretty aimlessly at first.
- As much as I enjoyed the forced save points and lack of autosaves, one section of the game really does force you to do quite a lot without reaching another save point. That wouldn't be a problem only for I hit some bugs in this area (see my remarks below).
- Voice acting is a bit strange. It feels like someone can't finish a sentence without the next person cutting straight in to start talking. Just as they reach the last word of their speech, the next person dives straight in.
And the worst offender:
- I encountered a game breaking bug on two occasions in one particular section of the game. No spoilers but you have to escape a stalker through a maze of corridors and I hit an infinite loading screen on one occasion here and the game just plain crashed then the next time. Took me three attempts to pass it and reach a new save point.
Despite my list of negatives (and the bugs) I did find a lot to enjoy here. As I said at the beginning I feel this is only worth it at a sale price. That game breaking bug I came across almost meant that I gave up on the game. Almost. I'm glad I didn't though. It's a good game overall and a worthwhile experience if you can put up with its flaws. There's buckets of potential in here and that alone drove me to want to finish it.
Good but not great. 6 out of 10.
Recommended at a sale price. Not so at full price.

On the plus side:
The game gives you a variety of options when dealing with the stalker(s). The game is short which worked for me but might not work for others.
What I did not like about the game:
it depends heavily on sound and musical ques to locate the stalker(s) which is not a bad thing in concept. However, you cannot pinpoint the the location of muffled voices. They could be next door, a floor up or even a floor down. Which leaves you usually only knowing that a stalker simply exists. The musical ques and clear voices that should warn you that a stalker is close enough to breathe down your neck could be triggered by a stalker roaming a floor above you sometimes. all in all this system feels like it is still in beta testing. (I played with the headphones on for all the good it did me)
Conclusion, if you are an old school survivor horror fan, do not mind a few bugs, and are okay with a short game go ahead and buy it on a discount.

The Impression Was Something Special Like a Long Lost Love.
My initial impressions were the game felt really good. It set the mood really well like recent horror films like Hereditary and Mid Sommar. (Both great movies btw I suggest checking them out) The atmosphere is something to be savored, that goes hand in hand with the story. The plot is hard to decipher but I'm working on it. The characters are all each interesting as well, they never have a dull moment in their given cutscenes. (The AI dialog while playing can break the immersion pretty easily but I can over look that.)
The game took a unique route by going third person. Making it more about survival and hiding then fighting back like most third person horror games was excellent an refreshing. Simple mechanics make the game easy to pick up and figure out quickly. By giving you multiple ways to deter or distract your adversaries gives you options in your approach. Though limited there are still options.
The game overall is amazing, but it didn't come without it's flaws like every good game inevitably has.

Remothered Tormented Fathers is certainly up there in my top picks for horror games by far. That includes is flaws which I will list below. Most of these are just in regards to how the game plays and things it did which felt off or didn't fit right into the core of the game.
- During the first sequence of the game you have a few tasks to complete. One of which is locate the handle to the oven in the kitchen. Every important item, and every item in general in the game up to this point and after were at eye level or lower. There was never any suggestion that looking up may be a good idea. Many players had struggled like I did to locate the Oven Handle, which was actually right next to the over but you had to look up to the ceiling to see it and retrieve it. You can't even get the prompt to pick it up if you don't look up which resulted in me wasting a total of 1h 45min looking for this item. Shamefully I had a friend look it up and give me periodic hints to find it finally. Not sure why they decided to do that with the item but I digress, it was just frustrating.
- The second thing in the game that threw me for a loop was the hallucination sequence in Celeste's bedroom. You listen to her tape recorder and then have to fight your way out of this nightmare. It says to face your fears and ignore them. (Insert instructions unclear meme here) If you look at the manifestation of the corpse IT WILL KILL YOU! Your task is to break all the mirrors in the room without looking at the moth lady once. It took a few resets for me to get this done before I realized just never looking at the moth person was the simple solution. What makes me upset is this sequence is completely different and stands out widely among the wrest of the game. There's been no paranormal activity till now or anything like this. It takes the tone to something I never wanted to deal with.
- One of the key factors in a horror game is sound. The sound has to be done just right to make you feel uneasy and even get your blood pumping. This game kind of missed that ball park though not by much. The game has what I can only describe as audio bouncing? The audio is difficult to follow or get any information from. If an enemy is walking on the floor right above you it sounds like they're on the other side of the wall right next to you. There is dynamic sound in both ears but there is no depth to that sound. You can't pin point where the enemies are from their voices or the sounds they make. YouTube probably has a few video about how bad the audio is. This made properly sneaking around very difficult since it sounds like the enemies are right around the corner ever second. Some people may actually enjoy this, but I certainly did not.
- The final thing in the game I think could have been done better was the sewer sequence. This requires you to walk slowly and perform QUICK-TIME EVENTS to survive. If you fail before the halfway point you have to reset. This was personally frustrating due to me thinking I had less time then I had to perform the action which obviously resulted in my death. I am not sure why they thought quick time events would be a good idea in this game but I don't think they fit the tone the game was setting up to that point. Especially since there aren't any other quick-time events in the game like this sequence.
Over looking these small issues the game was great even if it was fairly linear with some bad sequences. I think if you're a horror fan and like the more survive then fight type of games this will tickle your fancy.
With a total of 7.4 hours on record (1hour and 45min of which were looking for that damned oven handle) If we average it out I'd say this game can easily be done in 5.5 - 6 hours.
I give Remothered Tormented Fathers a score of 7/10

Then I got near the end. The autosave was not working at all. The save never updated and there was no where to do manual saves. Then I had a memory leak and couldn't get past a certain point without restarting my computer. Unacceptable. Then you through in the last sequences which were so tightly put together, that you had to have split second timing just to get past them. No forgiveness at all. I expect that in CoD or Tarkov, but not a horror game that is trying to sell the sequel. I am very hesitant at this point of getting the sequel. You need to get your **** together.

The Story -
In remothered you play as Rosemary, a woman who is investigating the disappear of a girl named Celeste.. Her investigations brings her to the house of Richard Felton the girls adoptive father for answers.. Upon arriving at the house she's greeted by Mr. Felton's personal nurse,, after a brief bit of dialog and some sneaking Rosemary is escorted out of the house.. Feeling as though she's been kicked out of better places, and really wanting,,no NEEDING to find out what happened to Celeste Rosymary pulls a little B & E and the rest is horror game history.
The Gameplay
Typical Stealth game play mechanics, crouch, sneak and hide.. You have various defense objects you can use if you get caught by one of the various enemies which roam the house at various points in the game.. You can also set up distraction items like music boxes, turn on televisions and radios..
If all else fails you can run around like an idiot and hope for the best.. although that likely won't help out much.. Healing can be done by visiting one of the very limited save mirrors located in two or three locations in the house.. The game also features collectibles which have little stories attached to them..
Pros
Stealth game play that doesn't suck... atleast for most of the game
Interesting story filled with so many twist and turns you'll feel like M. Night Shyamalan wrote it
Great atmosphere and sounds,, Turn up that volume and rock those 150 dollar headsets
Good use of jump scares
Cons
A few really... really... really unfun Stealth section near the end of the game...
Enemy AI is a bit too stupid,
QTE's.. this isn't the year 2010.. QTE's kinda suck..
Story ended on too many unanswered questions, was like the first Episode of a 4 part television Miniseries
Recommendation
Overall the game remothered is a great Horror game experience, while it has moments where you will literally want to tear out pieces of your hair.. (talking about you QTE section in the sewer and Stealth section near the end) but ultimately the good far outweighs the bad.. Well I wouldn't say this was the greatest game ever made, its really good, sit on your edge type of game.. The twist and turns will really catch you offguard, so do yourself a favor and if you view media of the game make sure it's spoiler free..
The game offers about 7 - 10 hours of gameplay, depending upon how good you are at stealth games, and how much you care about collectibles.. If you are really boss at Stealth games, you can probably even shorten up that game time a bit.. The game feels alot bigger then it is if you play it right,, using guides and other things will surely cheapen up your experience,, so please avoid them unless you're really stuck..
So buy the game now, no need to wait for a sale, if you're not sold, then give it a whirl as you can typically find the game at greatly discounted price during steam sales... Either way, if you enjoy Horror games, then please take the plunge, you won't regret it.. Right now might be the best time as the sequel is on the horizon, and it looks and promises to answer lots of questions..

I think most horror fans would enjoy it, especially the ones who want a real, traditional survival horror experience, like myself – however, the unresponsive controls, especially in the middle of an escape sequence, and the strange enemy AI (sometimes they can see and hear you through every object, whereas other times when they should definitely hear you, they don’t react at all) almost ruined the whole game for me, so keep this in mind before purchase. Some of the gameplay issues are so frustrating that more than once I almost rage quit the game, so be warned.
Fortunately, the story is really good with multiple twists, and thanks to the classic Resident Evil feeling I could overlook all these problems in the end. I just hope the sequel will learn from the mistakes of its predecessor.

- Kahlil Gibran
Abstract
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is one of the most atmospheric indie horror games I have ever played, and indeed one of the better horror games of the past couple generations owing to it’s intense atmosphere that has been compared to the clock tower series and it’s emotions-provoking story, filled with mystery and unexpected plot twists ambushing you from the most unexpected directions.
Pros
- A deep, interesting story
- Despite the lack of fixed jump-scares, this game manages to be extremely scary and stressful at many points.
- Superb artistic direction coupled with beautiful visuals
- Amazing OST for an indie game
- Memorable cutscenes
- Stupendous atmosphere
Cons
- Performance might leave something to desire
- Some plot twists in the game might not be enjoyed by some due to their extremeness and very little foreshadowing (from some aspects)
- Presence of a few bugs, although nothing game-breaking
- The items you need for some puzzles can be placed in unconventional/out of sight places that require you to point your camera in directions you’d never need to do
- TAKE OFF THE F*ING HIGH HEELS
Gameplay
Remothered: Tormented Fathers has modular/mainstream pure Horror gameplay. The entire game takes place within a large mansion, which you stealthily explore while avoiding whomever wants to gouge your eyes out with a sickle or eviscerate you with a pair of gardening shears.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2151685674
In-General
Gameplay is primarily stealth, but with options to distract opponents with diversionary items that you can pick up for a maximum of 3 diversion items of three different categories; throw-able (the most common), cords that can be wrapped on doors to (temporarily) prevent them from being opened from the other side, or placeable diversion items (such as timed clocks or music boxes) that make a racket in the corridors of an otherwise very, very quiet mansion. For this reason, playing this game with headphones is a must, as a significant portion of the gameplay lies with acoustics and listening to the footsteps and voice of the mansion’s inhabitants to know their whereabouts.
Defence
There are defense items in the game, but not in the same vein as some other horror games that provide you with much more options to defend yourself. You can pick up only one defensive item, including cleavers, sewing needles, scissors and knives. These cannot be manually used, and will be expended in case a chaser catches you, allowing you to counterattack them and incapacitate them for a short period of time until you escape. The single defensive item in your possession can be upgraded either with the wire spool to make it usable more than once, or with the acidic can to increase it’s damage (and stun your attacker for longer, granting you time to escape).
Stealth
The stealth portion of this game is hide-and-seek. You attempt to avoid your chasers. Your character’s posture, speed and the proximity of any enemy are all taken into account on whether the occupants of the massive mansion are going to investigate the origin of the sounds they heard or start sprinting because you were loud enough for them to know you are there. The mansion’s design (2 floors and a basement) provide for a lot of interesting and dangerous scenarios that can make your heart race as your chaser passes by In-front of your eyes while you are crouched behind a chair, hiding below a couch or peering out of the sills of a closet or peeking out the edge of a wardrobe.
Saving and recovering
Saving is both done automatically at specific checkpoints, and can be manually done through two mirrors inside the mansion with a metronome placed below them, anyone who played The Evil Within will find these mirrors very similar to the ones from that game. Your character has graphical HP where she will become more bloodied the more injured she is, and will start breathing frantically when on low HP, adding to the fear effect of the game. You can heal injuries at the same mirrors you save in.
Story in general (SPOILERS)
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a story-rich game, not in the essence that it has lots of dialogue or character development or numerous cut-scenes, but the fact that what might initially seem like a shallow puddle and a generic hide & seek game with a rather predictable premise goes off-course very quickly into a deep rabbit hole of plot-twists, revelations and wrinkles in the story. A lot of moments that will leave a paradoxical expression on the player’s face, and a lot of “Ooh, that makes sense now” moments. The game, despite it’s very few characters and small amount of cut-scenes, manages to evoke a great share of feelings, empathy or compassion where revulsion used to reside. Although some of the plot twists might be hard to swallow, they still add a massive layer to what otherwise seems a shallow story. Unfortunately I cannot divulge anything more specific as one of the finer points of this game is the story, and I do not wish to spoil anything. The game contains a lot of collectibles and photos that serve to communicate some lore, background and general world-building info to the player in a method that does not force them upon the player, but if the player’s interest has been piqued and he wants to know more, he can read them. Once again, later in the game when everything becomes clear and you’ve jumped beyond several of the plot twists, you will be able to connect a lot of dots in these collectibles/documents/photos and put the pieces together. The game possesses relatively few cut-scenes, but all of them are extremely well crafted, have several memorable moments and have just the right length, as in they do not drag out for too long and are not too short for any real character development to take place. The cinematography of the cut-scenes is incredible, the ambiance is often top-notch, although the animations might are not the best in the world.
Visuals & Performance in general
Visuals
The game Is built on the UE4 engine, and as expected boasts very impressive visuals, but like many UE indie games it also errs on the side of performance. Despite being a corridor game in small indoor spaces without much to see, the game can still be highly demanding on frames if you set your graphical settings too high. LOD is also very noticeably short and you will see a lot of objects rendering at higher polygons within a few steps of them. The LOD is infact so short that it can impede with gameplay, as many lights around the house sometimes turn-off if you are too far from them, and does not take into account player POV. To bring-into-light this issue even more, some enemies in the game have a specific cue to them; the all lights in their vicinity often turn-off, as thus, the lights turning off due to short LOD can impede with gameplay.
Art direction
The game’s art direction is quite honestly stellar for those who are fans of clock tower and people who love games set inside large haunted mansions. The artwork across the mansion, the design of some of the enemies and the variance of aesthetic across different areas inside the mansion is phenomenal.
Framerate
I played on the following hardware on 1440p resolution and managed to achieve steady 60 FPS with some dips for the vast majority of the game on the highest settings:
GTX 1080Ti
Ryzen 5 3600x
18gb of DDR4
Verdict: 7.5/10 (Great)

The game relies heavily on stealth and a lot of trial and error.
Similar to the Outlast series in way but it doesn't really seem to execute it nearly as well.
And quite a bit more irritating. Its pretty easy to evade enemies but they will follow you around endlessly if seen haha.
That on top of just trying to figure out where your supposed to go or do turned me off a bit.
Atmosphere is great, story seemed interesting. Definitely creepy.
Good graphics as well.
Main character was a total Karen though LOL..

Because I forgot.. But I also forgot that I had promised to remember...
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a survival horror game that kept me on edge from the first moment until the end of the game. The story starts off with Rosemary Reed who made her way to Richard Felton’s house to investigate the disappearance of a girl called Celeste who is Richard's adopted daughter. Mr. Felton was not happy to see Rosemary or her digging into his personal matters. He asked her to leave and she did, but she was determined to learn the whole mystery about the man and his missing adopted child as well as his illness and the reasons behind leaving the institution.. The story is very interesting and has many twists.

The game is all about stealthing and tries to achieve the main objective which is getting out of the house without getting caught. (Took me many turns and deaths to finish this objective) You have defense items that you can use once you get caught, but sadly Rosemary can't fight, the best thing to do is running and hiding. The gameplay reminded me of Haunting Ground, even the house's yard looked a bit similar.

The artwork and scenery of this game are out of this world! So beautiful creepy atmosphere, however, the character design and animation weren't my favorite. The same goes for the voice-overs, some of them are ok and some of them are not too much. The soundtrack wasn't very noticeable until the last bit of the game, I really liked it. I wished there was a journal or map that'd help you through the 'escaping' but there is an objective list and a collectible section that you can keep track of documents and photos you've seen.

Pros:
+Interesting story with many twists.
+OK voice over.
+Stealth gameplay.
+Good graphics and atmosphere.
+Journal with objectives.
+Collectables.
+Steam achievements.
Cons:
- Mediocre character design.
- Bad animation.
- No map.
- Clunky controls (By using a controller)
Since this is like a classic survival horror games, they made it classic to the end by allowing you to save your game in certain spots, in her case, mirrors. There are a couple of areas where you can find a mirror where you can save your game in. There are also checkpoints with automatic save. Of course, once you are caught you'll have to re-play the whole thing again either from the last checkpoint or last saved file. This made me anxious the whole time, especially when you don't know when they are going to follow you or show up. I admit I screamed and gasped multiple times during my gameplay. I recommend it to people who enjoy horror and stealth games, keep in mind there are gore and violence scenes.

First of all, the atmosphere and the setting are great. The european culture works perfectly with the survival horror genre, I don't know exactly why but it does. Great examples of this are games like Haunting Ground and Clock Tower wich this game obviously tries to mimic.
I am really happy someone took this kind of stories back. The hard part is talking about the gameplay.
The gameplay could appear clunky (the animations sometimes are) if you don't pay attention. First of all, the tutorial never explains something key to having a smooth gameplay: The music. Not the voices, not the sound, but the music.
Let me explain:
If you try to evade your enemies by hearing their footsteps or their cringy dialogue alone it wont work. Sometimes you think they are a floor above but they are in the other room or just a steps away. The difference is the music.
The tutorial NEVER explains this:
Drums: enemy is in the area
Strings: enemy is near.
Chorus: enemy is f***ing close
If you hear footsteps or dialogue but zero drums, the enemy is on another floor. You can relax.
If you don't hear footsteps nor dialogue but Drums, Strings and Chorus go hide. Or go the other way.
Trust the music not the sounds. It's tricky and the tutorial definetly should explain this for people who are less inclined to experiment with the game.
Another thing: When there is no music, you can walk. When music starts move ALWAYS crouching. It's tedious, it's slow but you won't be detected. Opening doors by crouching it's better too since the protagonist opens them slowly and you can see the other side a little (this last mechanic is useless anyway because the music is all you need to know where the enemy is)
Ropes are the best items since you attach them to a door handle and if the enemies wants to enter it takes them a while.
Throwable objects are nice sometimes if you can clearly see the enemy and want he/she to move farther. Throw it farther than them if you can and they'll go running. It's useful too if you want to be close to the enemy and not being scared of not knowing where they are.
Upgrading the weapons works fine because you can stun your enemy for a long time. Use this to run and hide somwhere (under couch, wardrobe...)
Aside from all of this I understand the bad reviews since this game definetly needed more polish and balance.
Hope to see the other Remothered games.

The gameplay is frustrating, interactions are completely broken, the pacing is bad - especially in cutscenes, where characters just talk on top of each other, and not in a realistic way - the AI is broken at points (how does a blind enemy know where I am at all times? *sigh*), etc.
The worst offenders, though? The broken audio (hard to tell where enemies are most of the time, are they below me? Above me? Right next door?), the absolute trial & error bull in the second half of the game, and the overall convoluted/unexciting story.
Pros? I'd say the environments look amazing, the atmosphere is good, and some of the music is very good too.
But I'm seriously at a loss. What do people see in this game? I love Survival Horror, I hope the sequel improves on everything this one did wrong, as I really want to be excited for a Survival Horror series again...

I got to the point where I gave up on the sneaking and hiding aspect and just tried running through the game because it was so frustrating to deal with it. At that point, all of the horror aspect was gone and there's no fear left in the game when you're spending 80% of your time running from an attacker. I bought the game a few months back and played it for an hour or so and stopped because of this problem. Then I returned to the game just now because it really does interest me and I had the same problem with it again. I think I'm done for good this time and it really is disappointing because I felt like the game had so much potential and I wanted to play through it, but I'm just not enjoying it.

Pretty good 'old-school' Survival Horror game with a remarkable artistic section (both graphics and sounds). The story is really engaging, intriguing and very well written. The thing I like more of this game: make you feel constant tension with an excellent atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the controlls awkwardness ruins a bit the experience.
If you love the genre, you will like this for sure.

You can see clearly their tails and influence, but a lack of a good script turned me off so hard, that it was the main point of what I stopped half way in. Little bit specific:
1. I don't understand what character I'm playing. Is she a detective therapist or what? There is no flavor text or a coherent citizen that can explain that.
2. What is my goals? I don't understand, that's not clear
don't want to go into the details, there are a lot of things that can be improved.
Can I recommend this game?
If you a horror fan you can give it a honest try, but it not win me.

A beautiful day in Italy as old Madame Svenska talks to Mr Manni on how it all started with Rosemary Reed.
A fascinating 35-year-old woman, who reaches the house of Richard Felton to investigate on a young girl named Celeste, who was the adoptive daughter of Richard Felton and Arianna Felton and that she went missing a while ago.
But doing so maybe more than one lone person like Rosemary Reed can handle.
The likes, to start the story is really good and touching, it all most made me cry.
The music is fantastic from the sharp violin when a Stalker is near, to the music playing when you are being chased by them. And the music in the ending and ending credits is so good.
And on the Stalkers, each one is really good and cool looking with their own unique looks. The background/Levels are really good and detailed. The voice acting is really good and did not feel wooden.
The characters are really good and well developed.
My fav being Richard/Jennifer I really felt bad for her and she is one of the few characters I kind of relate too.
I like how in the game you can defend yourself, while you should run and hide, it’s good you can still defend yourself and then run and hide. I all so like the explanation on why the Stalker can survive a knife wound in the chest or the neck.
And the notes/collectibles are the best and you know from my other reviews notes help with the game’s story and world. I all so love the clock tower collectible/reference.
The dislikes, Well there is one thing I disliked the sewerage Level with its QTE. And collecting some of the notes can be a pain, but not to bad.
Now with all that said and done with Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a beautiful, touching, scary clock tower like horror game. With a really good and touching story, fantastic music, cool looking Stalkers and well developed characters.
So if you’re looking for a clock tower like horror game this is a game I recommend.
