While your enthusiasm and words of encouragement have been fantastic to see, we’ve also really appreciated the amount of detailed and constructive feedback that the growing community has submitted so far. Even after just 1 week it’s given us a great indication of what we need to be prioritising along the development roadmap.
I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some of the most commonly requested feedback items, as well as our immediate plans so you can have a clearer understanding of the next steps we’re taking to make the game a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
Your feedback
Via the in-game feedback form we’ve been asking you what your top 3 most anticipated roadmap updates are, and the results are in:

Alongside the in-game form we’ve also been monitoring the the #suggestions-box channel on our Discord, steam reviews, steam forum, and Twitter to gather your thoughts and feedback on existing mechanics and systems. The top 3 most discussed areas are:

We’re reading through all the comments related to these areas at the moment and are working on a plan to address some of the highest frequency items and issues.
Update 1 - Freeplay mode
The most requested feature by far has been the addition of a freeplay mode, and so this is our current development focus for update 1. This new gameplay mode will feature:
Configurable starting conditions - Starting money, lose conditions, events frequency, plot size, disaster frequency and lots more!
(Work in progress screenshot)
Difficulty presets (Easy, medium, hard, custom) - To make it easier to jump straight into a new game, or load your custom settings.
A 5 tier milestone system - 15 milestones to work towards completing during each gameplay session. The achievements are divided into sets of 3 across 5 tiers so you can slowly work towards beating them all (and only if you want to!). You may even unlock some special items as a reward!
We’re also working on toning down the frequency of fire disasters and how these affect employee stress levels, and we’ll be rolling out a rebalancing patch to address this shortly.
For update 1 we’ll aim to have this live on 23rd November.
I’m hoping you’re as excited as we are to start exploring more of what Recipe for Disaster has to offer in the coming weeks!
I’ll be back soon with another update,
Alex Mochi
