The festive season has sprinkled its magic on Project Winter, bringing back our mischievous elves with the first of several updates to enhance the post-death festivities!
???? Ghosts of Winter - Part 1 is now live! ????
This spirited update is dedicated to the backstabbed survivors, terminated traitors, and those who found our winter wonderland a bit too challenging. Here's what's in store to add some cheer to the afterlife:
- Ghostly Event Voting - Even in the afterlife, your voice matters! Dead players can now vote for the global events that living players experience.
- Ghostly Item Usage - Ghosts now have an expanded arsenal including smoke bombs, flares, tripwires, and, of course, poison. Time to haunt with style!
- Ghost Power - The ghost ability system has been reworked to allow for additional ability uses over time.
But that's not all! We've wrapped up some extra goodies for you:
- Snowmen now drop throwable snowballs for a little harmless fun with your friends.
- Overhauled Bonus Challenges so that players can now complete multiple challenges in a single match.
- Each completed challenge will grant a player a small stat buff.
- Added Holiday 2023 Progression Tree, weekly challenges, and a sackful of cosmetics to make your winter wardrobe sparkle.
- Increased the number of Blackout DLC tokens to 2 so that players who do not own the DLC can play more Blackout matches per day.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a few issues where key bindings weren't displaying correctly.
- Fixed an issue where some previous login and progression rewards were not displaying in the correct order.
- Fixed an issue where players who had a fifth inventory slot (gained after crafting a backpack) were not able to select the third or fourth inventory slots.
- Fixed an issue where players could lose controller navigation abilities after purchasing specific cosmetics in the Limited Time store.
- Fixed an issue where tool tips would not show for ghost abilities on the inventory/ability bar.
- Fixed an issue where ghosts using a controller, were unable to correctly see tooltip information when pressing the up button.
- Fixed an issue where players were experiencing difficulty navigating timeline events using a mouse and keyboard.
- Fixed an issue where some Titles had "(Title)" appended to them.
- Fixed an issue where some players were seeing duplicate titles.
- Fixed an issue where the Progression list wasn’t scrollable; we made some UI adjustments to support being able to have a scrollable list so players can see the entire list.
- Fixed some spelling errors in progression tree items; we have turned on spell check going forward.
- Fixed an issue where a tree was too close to the Smoke Signal objective on the Blackout map. We thought you might like to get to the objective without the tree blocking you, so we moved the tree.
- Fixed a few environmental issues that would cause players to become stuck in different spots, be able to walk on things they shouldn’t, or clip into areas on various maps.
- Fixed an issue where a bear explored a little too far and found himself stuck on a cliff. We also had a wolf who got a little ambitious and got stuck on some rocks, so we helped him break free, too! There were a few wolves who would get stuck in the Portal escape, too, so we chatted with them and let them know they didn’t need to stop there anymore.
- Fixed an issue where some animals got a little too thirsty, and decided they’d spawn in the water.
- Fixed an issue where some rocks near the escape on Blackout were fading to a light grey color. We’ve had a stern discussion with them and now they will remain the correct color.
- Fixed an issue where using ice bombs were very, very bright in Blackout.
- Fixed an issue where we got a little ambitious with the snow and buried a sign. We chopped it up and got rid of it as it was right beside a sign that we didn’t bury in snow!
- Fixed an issue where the helipad entered a separate dimension and let thrown items pass through it.
- Fixed an issue on the Deep Woods map where animals would not attack players if they found the sweet spot between the cave and the ice wall.
- Fixed an issue where thrown melee weapons would get stuck on top of the animal wave objective.
- Fixed an issue with hatch positions on the Beach map; we made them to be more useful and make actual sense.
- Fixed an issue where the Tarot Eye cosmetic didn’t have a consistent glow.
- Fixed a few issues where some cosmetics were clipping into each other or not appearing correctly on certain body models.
- Fixed an issue where some weapon skins would display with their Halloween event skins during Mass Hysteria event; we fixed this so you can still be anonymous and suspicious.
- Fixed some issues on the Match Over Timeline screen where images were broken, icons aren't appearing correctly, or events were missing.
- Fixed some issues with Custom Games where objectives were de-sync’d under very specific scenarios.
- Fixed some issues where Steam inventory items, titles, badges were not displaying their images correctly.
- Fixed an issue where proximity chat decided it didn’t want to work once a survivor crafted a radio.
- Fixed an issue where badges and titles relating to commendations were only updating after relaunching the game; this has been fixed so you’ll see your progress after the match.
