Christmas Event (active from 15th-31st December)
The optional Christmas-themed changes to Port Royale 4 can be enabled or disabled in the Graphics tab of the Options menu. Please note, any alterations made here will send you back to the main menu, so please make sure to have saved your game before making any changes.
- The Christmas event will be active from the 15th until the 31st of December

Updated game mechanics
Prize money
- Following a manual battle, players can now choose to either collect prize money or sink any additional captured ships. If ships are returned to their home nation, these can be used to form new military convoys.
- To better fit the game’s historical context, pirates can no longer be solicited for prize money
Pausing the game
- The pause function has been streamlined so that the player can pause the action using either the Spacebar or by selecting this option via the HUD.
Game Objectives
- We’ve addressed some balancing issues for mission objectives: adjusting some values and removing duplicate objectives.
