Ab dem 26. Juli 2010 wird es die Alpha Version von Natural Selection 2 für alle Vorbesteller der Special Edition frei zum Download via Steam geben. Die Special Edition kostet im Moment noch 39.95 US Doller und wird nach dem 26. Juli 2010 nicht mehr zur Verfügung stehen.Ein Termin für eine Beta oder gar dem finalen Release gibt es zur Zeit noch nicht, denn die Alpha Version läuft vorerst auf unbestimmte Zeit.
Natural Selection 2 Alpha 1 Inhalt:
- One of our shipping maps (ns2_tram), plus some smaller "test" maps
- Marine, with Rifle, Pistol, SwitchAx, Grenade Launcher (oops, and shotgun!)
- Skulks, Gorges, Lerks and their basic movement abilities and weapons
- Marine armory "buy" screen for purchasing new equipment
- Alien evolution menu for choosing your lifeform and upgrades
- Basic marine and alien commander interfaces including MACs, Drifters
- Much of our final sounds, artwork, animations, etc.
