Hello gamers, growers and smokers! The release date of the game is moved to Q3-4 2022, and we apologize for this. There were difficulties, and therefore our team didn't work as much as we would like. However, the game is in development and we have something to show!

Plant

We completed the growing mechanics and tried to make it as detailed as possible. Of course, some things don't look or work like they do in real life. This helps to keep the growing process fun and not too difficult for most players.

The plant doesn't just get bigger, like in other games, but forms in real time. The condition of each leaf on the plant is taken into account. Each plant is unique because the rate of leaf formation, number of stems, bud size and quality of yield depend on the conditions in which the plant grows.

5 grown bushes

5 ripe bushes

Plant requirements depend on:
[olist]
  • Varieties (Each variety has its own requirements, growth limits, gives a different yield and looks a little different)
  • Size (A large plant requires more water, light, etc.)
  • Life cycle stages (Vegetation, Flowering, Harvest)
  • Substrate Type (Soil, Coconut or Hydroponics)
  • [/olist]

The deviation of these conditions from the norm is manifested on the leaves and will cause stress in the plant and slow down its development:
    [olist]

  • Light power and its spectrum
  • Temperature
  • Air humidity
  • Soil moisture
  • Soil pH Level
  • Soil Nutrient Concentration
  • [/olist]

    Examples:

    [olist]
  • A bush of one variety needs 10k Lux of light in the vegetative stage, while another bush of another variety will not have enough light and will grow smaller than it could, which would result in less room for buds in the flowering stage and a smaller yield.
  • For one variety, the norm of air humidity is 70%, and for another, due to the greater density of the leaves, this humidity threatens the appearance of mold, due to which the plant may die.
  • For a plant in hydroponics, 100mg of nutrients per liter is the norm, but for a plant in the soil, the same concentration will cause a lack of nutrients in the leaves, which will cause spots on them, and some will begin to die. If, in this case, the concentration of nutrients in the soil is not increased, then the plant will not grow as large as it could due to stress or die.
  • Deviation from the norm of some conditions leads to a chain reaction, for example, increased temperature and low humidity, coupled with excess light, will cause the plant to increase water consumption. Water consumption will increase, and the plant will begin to consume more nutrients from the soil than it can absorb, which will cause spots on some leaves and old leaves will begin to die. If this happens during the flowering stage, stress will cause the buds to slow down their growth, which will result in a smaller yield.
  • [/olist]

To change the conditions in the room, you will have: fans, heaters, humidifiers, etc. (We have already written about them in past devblogs and will write about them in future ones).

To track the conditions in which the plant grows, you will have:
    [olist]
  • Air temperature meter
  • Air humidity meter
  • Light power meter
  • Soil moisture meter
  • Soil pH Meter
  • Nutrient Concentration Meter
  • [/olist]

In the screenshot, you can see that spots have appeared on the leaves, signaling an excess of nutrients. The reason may be either an increased concentration of nutrients in the soil or increased water consumption (nutrients enter the plant with water). To identify the cause, the first step is to measure the concentration of nutrients in the soil.

If the concentration of nutrients is normal, then you need to find out what caused the increased water consumption. To do this, you can measure the temperature of the plant’s leaves.

In the screenshot, you can see that the upper young leaves have turned yellow, and their edges have turned black. This can be caused by too much light or a lack of nutrients. To identify the cause, you can measure the illumination of the plant with a Light power meter.

If the illumination is normal, then the pH of the soil should be checked. Deviation from the normal pH can cause the plant to have problems absorbing nutrients.

In the screenshot, you can see that one of the leaves is moldy. To stop the spread of the fungus, you can cut off the infected leaf. And to avoid the appearance of mold, it is necessary to control the air humidity of the room. You can track it with an Air humidity meter.

The game will have instructions and enough information on how to grow the plant. For example, it will be possible to buy instructions for growing some varieties from NPCs, and as a reward for some quests, you will be given more and more new tools and knowledge.

The system may seem complex, but it is a configurable setting. During the future beta testing, we will identify all the problems that players may experience and fix them. We will select the optimal time that will need to be spent on growing a plant so that the gameplay remains interesting.

    Locations

We are also working on the map. In addition to stores, there will also be interesting locations like a recording studio where you can meet local rappers who will be the main consumers of your product. If they like your weed, they may agree to make a collaboration with you :)
