Hello from the frontiers of the new country! It’s time for our first community contest for Cave Digger 2: Dig harder!
We want to include you more into the development process of the game, instead of just choosing your favourites from our designs and what would be a better way to do that than a design contest? You’ll get to showcase your ideas and creativity and we’ll cherry pick the best option(s) and implement it into the game. The winner will also get a copy of Cave Digger 2: Dig harder! on Steam when it becomes available sometime next year.
DESIGN A HAT
Cave Digger 2: Dig harder! will have character customization, and one of the best ways to make your digger stand out from your friend diggers, is a fancy hat. CD2 takes place in an unexplored valley with rough weather and deep mines in a weird wild west country. A brave digger will need a good selection of hats in such conditions, so there’s definitely room to be creative with your designs. The limitations are that the hat must fit into small caverns and protect the digger from hazardous liquids dripping from the ceilings. So don’t make the brims too wide… nor too narrow.
First and foremost we’d love to see the designs in the form of art. Drawings, photoshops, 3d models and things like that. Besides that we’d like you to tell us what the hat is called and if it has any background story or other unique details you might think of. The drawings don’t have to be super good, as long as you can get the idea of what the hat looks like. Our artists will be able to fine tune them into something usable in game if needed. If you are absolutely unable to produce anything visual, describe it in the best possible way. However, the visual submissions will probably have a higher chance of winning.

RULES
- The hat design does NOT represent any copyrighted material. Things like Iron Man’s helmet or Super Mario’s hat will be discarded. Your design can be inspired by famous hats, but change it a bit just like you would copy your friend’s homework.
- The hat design does NOT represent any illegal, hateful, overly violent or explicit content. You know, use common sense.
- The design must be submitted by January 3rd, 2021.
- The submission must include an image of the design or a detailed written description
- One submission per contestant
