There´s few different game modes that offers you the chance to play with others, but optionally allows you to wear out that steering wheel in your own pace.
What really stands out from these modes is the career mode where you make contracts to acquire new cars, work with teams that fit your driving style, drive all around the world in always changing conditions, beat down challenges and climb up in ranking to become the number one driver.
There´s 13 countries and 52 special stages.
From rocky corners of Argentina to Finland´s high speed flats, A good variety of tracks
makes sure that there´s something for everyone.
To tackle these tracks you have many official wrc cars and to get everything out of each one you´re able configure them
rather specifically to meet your needs and preferences.
Controlling feels smooth and the weight transfer gives it a nice natural touch making sliding corners more fun however there´s couple of things to mention that I think many people have noticed.
First thing, cars are very tough, it really takes a lot to total a car into undrivable condition.
Second thing, stopping the car seems bit too easy but because of these two things I think this is rather beginner friendly.
I don´t really have anything bad to say about this game, all and all excellent rally experience that offers fun for a good time

The handling is great, so far the stages are challenging and punish for making mistakes.
Career mode is the best thing, definitely will be completing that.
Cannot recommend this game enough !
Got it almost for free on sale and satisfied completely.

physics are from the moon. takes 5-6 seconds to stop the car on tarmac from about 70-80 km/h.
ON TARMAC , CARL !!!!!
then you open ANY youtube video with Fiesta breaking test - never takes more than 3 seconds.
get you heads out of your asses.
this game is ok if on sale.

I got 26 hours at the moment in the game. At least 10 to 15 hours were just spending time in finding good settings. Its horrible how the car reacts to my steering wheel. I tried at least 500 different settings and its still horrible to drive any car.
Btw... If u know good settings for the Logitech G29, please contact me or write in the comments. I really wanna play the game but not with the settings I got now.

-If the audience placement was any dumber, they'd be having barbecues on the track.
-The handling sucks, sometimes I turn and nothing happens other times the slightest nudge on the controller sends me to the weeds. Touching the rocks either shoots you off the road or instantly stops your car.
-The gears sometimes simply don't engage.
-The career mode is super basic, you just pick between 3 teams no matter what, and there is basically no relevant difference between them. You can't upgrade your car, or your team, or do anything other than race.
-There's no tutorial, or training area, or even a good explanation of what the adjustable parameters do.
-The only redeeming feature is the graphics, which are pretty good.
-The tracks are also fine, I guess.
Overall not a horrible game, but definitely not good. I'd give it a 4/10. Like I said, buy on a good sale.
Cheers

If you are into the classic rally cars from the 90s and early 2000s, then I suggest go with DiRT Rally or DiRT Rally 2.0.

Physics: 4/10 ... Hard to believe that such a modern WRC game has so poor physics. It's sometimes quite ok on gravel, but tarmac is purely terrible. Cars only have understeer, never oversteer. You can't use handbrake to turn/flip the car around a corner, because handbrake is very weak and the car never oversteers. Also, there's like no difference between dry and wet. Don't you even bother trying your simwheel, this game is better on controler or keyboard.
Cars: 6/10 ... There're all WRC, WRC2 and JWRC cars and teams. Rims are weirdly made, but otherwise they look graphically ok. There're also 2016 WRC cars, which would be nice, if you could use them in career or in season mode. No extra cars otherwise, so nothing really exciting ...
Graphics and Tracks: 7/10 ... Propably the best part of the game. Graphics looks quite nice, I haven't had any glitches or bugs. Tracks are also nice, there're some seriously long, like 22km, which is almost like a proper rally. But there could have been more of them, it's usually the one long stage, which you run all the way, or as a shorter parts ...
Career mode: 2/10 ... What the hell happened there ?! I remember WRC2 had quite entertaining career, you had to sign sponsors, make car upgrades, buy your own cars and make your way into WRC, where you were able to sign with whoever once you've gained good reputation. Here ? You start in JWRC, you choose between 3 offers, although the teams have different targets, it doesn't matter which you choose. Then you got 3 offers again and you can jump to WRC2. Then 3 offers where you can jump to WRC. Even after you win your WRC title, you only get 3 offers again. WTF ?! I'm a world champ, how is it that not all teams want me ? It sucks. If you want to drive for a certain team, the contract may never come. Also, there're no car upgrades, no sponsors and basically no story at all. You only get some media objetives, which you don't have to care about since they don't bring any advantage/disadvantage. Also there're some media news, which repeat all the time. Honetly, I felt very lonely during the career mode. No team to really care about, no game guide to really care about me. I won only 1 WRC title and I'm done with the career mode, there's no reason to go on ...
Overall gaming experience: 5/10 ... Although there were times when the game made me happy, it's not enough to make me say, that there's a reason to buy this game in 2020 apart from you wanting to have a complete collection or you buying it for a very low price and wanting to spend a few hours with this game ...

superb physics: feels like a metallic car weighed down by ahefty engine, unlike other sims wooden cars
Excellent graphics: breathtaking views whichever country you race in
Realistic stages: no littering of small rocks to launch you airborne as in other racing sims
5 levels of difficulty: keeps the show-offs quiet while entertaining the amateur driver
Cons:
No online: Servers are now disconnected as WRC 8 is released

My G29 works in almost any driving game: Assetto Corsa, City Car Driving, Pure Rock Crawling, Automobilista, ETS... or even the good old Richard Burns Rally, but not for this official WRC game....
Devs are well aware of this but they have no intention of fixing up, game is abandoned.

Endurance stages are a combination of the smaller stages put together, to provide a more lengthy test of your driving skill - often in a different direction to the main stage to ensure a bit more variability. Really nice feature & well implemented.
Graphics & sounds are a slight step up, but still very similar to 6. The cars are a lot faster than the previous game due to reg changes in the real-life championship, and the handling is predictable (in a good way, even on a pad!).
It obviously makes sense to buy WRC8 instead of this as it is a newer title, although if you do find this on a cheap deal - it is certainly still worth it in 2020.

-damage model is unrealistic
-there is no difference between simulation and arcade handling
-graphics looks bad for a game released in 2017
-career is short and you can finish it in 10-15 hours
Only good thing about this game is that it has licensed WRC teams.
This game is not worth more than 1€.
If you want real rally game, buy Dirt 4 or Dirt Rally.

I have no idea why this game gets so many negative reviews. I've read the negative reviews, which is what prevented me from buying the game for a long time, and I don't see the problems other people are reporting.
The graphics are great. Clean, nice, detailed. Certainly nothing to complain about.
I've had no problems with framerate. Occassionally I do see a framerate drop when racing through detailed environments, but it has never been close to being a problem. It has never made me crash, nor has it ever even hampered my enjoyment of the experience. I have the graphics details cranked up pretty high while running on a laptop, so I don't see any notable display performance issues.
People have complained about the control and the physics. Why? The control, for me, has been very responsive, and a deft touch is certainly required to make good time on a run. Precision of inputs and an understanding of driving physics DO make a difference in this game, as they should. I don't think these physics are a perfect analog to the real-world, but not any further off than any other driving game I've ever played that claimed to be a sim. No video game is a true sim. It's impossible to accurately represent the real-world in a game, anyway, for many, many reasons. But WRC7 has the impression and feeling of realistic physics without letting pedantics interfere with the presentation. A game needs to be fun, and WRC7 is fun, so what more do you want?
I've only played for 5 hours or so, so I don't yet know how tough it's going to be in the more advanced races. But so far, I've been enjoying playing on a relatively easy setting. As long as I don't do any major screw-ups, I can win a race. That approach of minimizing mistakes is reflected in the real WRC, too. Errors are punished severely, and those teams and drivers with the fewest errors end up at the top of the pack.
From the bit I've played, WRC7 does seem easier than the Dirt Rally and Dirt series. There are harder difficulty levels to choose from in WRC7, but I enjoy a more casual gaming experience than a frustrating one.
I don't have any complaints yet. Maybe I'll update this review if something comes up, but for now, everything is good and I'm enjoying playing WRC7.

I liked the career mode. I also like how you can restart a race without being penalized if you feel like you want to. The graphics are outstanding. The sound is perfectly adequate. I got excellent performance on my i7 5930 and R9 390X with all settings maxed. There's some very nice looking tracks and I liked running the actual stages of the WRC.
The feedback on my Logitech G27 seemed good.
Overall, I think if you enjoy rally games, I encourage you to give it a try. The only real downside is multiplayer is dead and the server seems to have been turned off which is a poor move. Get the game on sale - frequently it's quite inexpensive.

INPUT LAG was one of the biggest problems that I give up this game after total 1 hour experience. It takes me some time to fix it, but still it happens. I doubt it why players on streaming (probably PS4) were playing so smooth. It is really difficult that I have to predict different turns with 1 sec delay to the steering wheel, probably my bad sports vision I just can't handle it.
Steering feedback is bad, I nearly can't feel anything from the steering wheel except the strong centering feedback force against my arm during my car is turning.
No H-shifter and clutch. Let me take it personally, i know modern rally cars are sequential transmission, but I really like the way that Dirt Rally games can let you switch between automatic / sequential / h-shifter (you can do this while driving on the road).
Besides of those cons, something in WRC 7 really makes me impressed.
At the beginning of the game, a tutorial will show you how to setup your team / cars, and how the rally competition actually works, it explains the rules of rally, let you understand the strategy on each gameplay. CodeMasters please take notes!

1) More pre made stages that really make you feel like you are in different location
2) multiple surfaces in the same rally adding an extra element of depth that we didn't have before.
What could be better:
1) More cars from more eras.
2) Procedural generated stages.
3) Better Graphics, more realistic dirt, ground, trees. You can tell this started as a console game first.
4) More in depth carreer mode (I think this is being addressed in WRC 8).
This game doesn't have any hill climb, stadium trucks, or rallycross, which is just fine for me. Just a note.

In general, I don't like writing reviews for games I don't keep. However, I felt this game was the exception to the rule.
Now, I've not really played a WRC game since WRC4, back when Milestone Srl was the developer. I've an admitted DiRT bias. I figured I'd give another shot to KT Racing.
I consider the WRC series to be the most direct competition to DiRT, the main DiRT series. Not necessarily the DiRT Rally series. I have a host of problems with DiRT Rally 2 but those are largely due to their monetization practices.
Juxtaposed to DiRT 4, this game is comparable. Except where it counts; the part where you're actually driving.
The career mode has sponsor deals, crew management including morale based on performance as well as a plethora of offerings to customize your experience. But, the physics are just nonsensical. If you play it as a sort of casual off-roading game it's quite fine. Especially if you like driving around like you've covered your tires in soap. But, as far as a simulation... It's just not up to par.
THE GIST:
As a passionate Rally fan. (At least of rally games, I don't pay much attention to the real sport.) The actual driving, the part where you're playing the game and not just bustling about in the menus is what's really important. And while DiRT Rally 2 doesn't offer much in the way of sponsor deals or crew management or really even a traditional career mode. That being said, racing is what it comes down to, and WRC just hasn't found the right amalgam yet.

Even mediocre racing games are really good now.
The stage variety and quality really takes center stage. The roads are legitimately narrow and each location feels unique.
The handling, though on the simcade side, is satisfying and consistent. Less challenging and more forgiving than DiRT Rally, but that works in this games favor.
DiRT Rally is the first rally franchise you should play. But when you feel like you've played as much DiRT as you can take and just want more rally, WRC 7 is the next thing you should grab.
