For something in between it is perfect, but I really miss an online Co-Op.
They really have to put this in.
Still, the gameplay is simple, the story is not really existing (only rudimentarily) and it is warhammer 40k.
A solid game which really needs an Online Co-Op for more fun.

Mission #2 had camera issues so you couldn't even see where the enemies were that are shooting you, and now Mission #3 you start out on an elevator but for some reason my marine jumps off the elevator and kills himself right at the start. I've tried restarting the game a few times but I keep getting suicidal space marines.

The music and graphics assets are recycled from Warhammer 40k Dawn of War II.
The forced camera angles are absolutely ridiculous, sometimes you can’t see what the hell is going on which makes you want to punch something.
The glitches and bugs in this game are also extremely funny, that I honestly can’t see how it passed beta let alone get a PC release.
I had an occurring glitch in solo survival mode which actually worked out in my favour and it was absolutely hilarious.
Sega and Nomad Games should be ashamed of themselves for releasing such a travesty of a game with the Warhammer 40k name.

***I would like to give special thanks to my brother for being my partner against the Ork hordes, and to both Cold Dingo and Chap for proofing this review.
Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team (WKT) is a twin-stick shooter based in the Warhammer 40,000 (W40k) universe featuring various Space Marine specialities combatting Ork
and Tyrannid
hordes across variable five stages. Players participate as one of four classes of Space Marines, each containing their own abilities and strengths. This title has been received as notoriously negative, though this writing is based on my mixed and positive experiences in both single player and multiplayer modes. I have also recently completed this title after approximately ten hours of play, so I can confidently speak on the achievements being incredibly accessible.
Here are just a few points to consider:
Gameplay - Having controlled this title with both a PlayStation remote and general PC layouts, I am confident in stating that both are adequate for play. For two players, it is obvious the controllers are essentially required, and the scheme is as follows: Left Stick moves your Space Marine, Right Stick aims and fires your ranged weapon, X is the designated melee attack, L1 utilizes each character’s special ability, L2 allows for a short sprint, and R1 allows a grenade to be thrown. A minor gripe I personally had while playing was that you cannot remap the controls as I preferred melee by set to R2, but the default scheme makes sense in that you aim melee attacks by facing the way you wish to strike-with the Left Stick. There are four character classes to choose from, each with their own abilities and appropriate strengths; six selectable Space Marine Chapters are also available for additional choices. Sternguard Veterans are the general ranged unit, focusing on the use of a Heavy Bolter and similar weaponry to dispatch Xenos from a distance; Tech Marines, my personal favorite, are weaker at range, but deploy a Tarantula Turret which acts as a secondary gunner; Vanguard Veterans have the advantage of drop-assaults by utilization of a jump packs against their foes; and Librarians
do not merely sort books and instead
focus on melee attacks against their opponents, culminating in a burst-style special attack. Power-ups such as Rapid Fire litter the stages for a classic arcade feel, and there are ten collectibles in each of the five stages to collect. Overall, WKT feels great as a twin-stick shooter, though lacks in overall design, discussed below.
Design - As stated previously, this title is spread between five stages, each relatively varied in layout with corridors and looping events being the main detractors. These corridors and set pieces tend to be repetitive, preferring to pad the game’s length with similar events and even a Cardinal Sin: back-tracking. The camera attempts to be inventive in that it does not snap to the various points on the map, rather it glides across the landscapes to create a more cinematic experience; this aspect fails in execution as it tends to clip into the environment’s geometry, or will often skip cues to follow the player’s selected Space Marine. Sound design is also flawed, with several of the weapons not executing their firing accents.
TL:DR - Though it has its flaws, Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is still a decent twin-stick shooter for fanatics of the genre and the W40k universe. Single player and multiplayer formats are adequately balanced, and this title is worth it if on sale. The title has its obvious flaws, but it accomplishes what it sets out to do gameplay-wise. Thanks for reading.

Killing off fan-made content which brought in thousands of people into the hobby.
Not communicating with the community.
Not giving a single fuck about their customers.
Therefore i can't recommend buying anything that brings those greedy shits any money.

I'm giving it a 1/10 and that's being generous.
Considering this is an officially licensed game.. it's short, very repetitive. It has horrible scripted events and horrible camerawork. The cutscenes are all non-skippable and this entire game feels like it's from the PS1 era.
Long story short: Don't buy it. Even it if reappears on Steam. Please for the love of god, DON'T!

Was fun mowing down tons of enemies with various weaponry.
What was not fun though was the following:
- Massive physics problems, including clipping through the floor into instant-death over and over (tip: lower your monitors frequency to 60Hz and enable V-Sync in the game)
- Getting a control-tutorial showing a XBox controller but the text talks about mouse-buttons?
- During one cutscene i should press a button but the game glitched out and didn't read my controller inputs anymore. Had to restart the mission. Controller didn't work ever after and i had to use the keyboard.
- Getting shot from off-camera
- Camera freaking out on several occasions which lead to multiple checkpoint-resets
- Some unsensible checkpoints combined with unskippable cutscenes
- headache inducing screenshake during an escape sequence where you have to be somewhat precise
One playthrough took me three hours, would have been 2 without the technical difficulties. Maybe fun for a 2h Co-Op session.

It's not a terribly deep game but it's fun to play in sort bursts. I wish they'd make more games like this featuring the Astartes or even other factions.

I really really wanted to like this game, it's a great idea but the execution is just... mediocre.
While I *would* recommend it for its average gameplay and the rad setting which feels actually awesome... the camera angles...
The camera angles.... *shudders*
... right coming back from my vietnam flashback, the camera angles just make this game really really rough to play, almost half my deaths came from the camera getting stuck somewhere and my character having to fight where I couldnt see it.
I genuinely don't recommend getting this game, give it a pass even at a discount.

A very fun solo or 2-player twin stick shooter set in the Warhammer 40k universe. It does not delve deep into the lore, the upgrades/different weapons aren't as numerous as you'd hope, the cutscenes are unskippable, the game only has five levels + survival mode... But damn if it isn't fun. Especially in co-op. I would heartily recommend this if you've got someone to play with (and it's not that bad even in solo mode).

Warhammer 40k - Kill Team is another effort to leech on the success of the franchise. It is a third person shooter indie game where you can play solo or co-op on an Orc cruiser. It has five story missions and five survival missions.
I must say that all the Orc and Tyranid units look good and reminds me of Dawn of War II, the way it is supposed to. The sound effects are nice, the classic weapons are all there and the bullet cases stay on the ground when you shoot.
But despite all this, the gameplay is horrendous. Cheap deads by sudden pit falls and Orc Shoota Boyz that kill you faster than a Orc Melee Nob. But that is not the worst, oh no sir, the worst thing in this game is the camera. The game camera is so freaking bad, it made me cry. It is always in a awkward angle, does not rotate with you and sometimes glitches so you get your ♥♥♥ handed to you by enemies of the screen.
One other thing that made me furious is the unskippable cutscenes. There is a lot of them and they take forever. They show you a certain switch you must activate and then the screen stays locked on that switch for 10 seconds. Also, when you die, you need to watch the whole goddamn movie again. It made my skin crawl, i pressed every damn button on my keyboard and hoped it worked but no.
So in conclusion, the effort is nice, the Warhammer 40 000 theme is there, the units, weapons and bosses are nice but the way it is played with the drunk camera and the cutscenes you can't skip made it a real chore to finish for me. Definitely not worth 10 euro's/dollars

There is a good amount of variety in the levels to keep things fresh and finally, I encountered none of the camera bugs people have complained about.
5.5/10 (5 being average)

If you´re in the mood for a futuristic twin-stick shooter I´d recommend Helldivers, it´s leagues above this mess.
