In der Republik Derbaran entbrennt zwischen dem Militärregime unter Führung von Präsident Zaripov und der Rebellenkoalition, der National Independence Union (N.I.U.), ein grausamer Bürgerkrieg. Ehemalige Offiziere des derbaranischen Militärs haben sich auf die Seite der Widersacher geschlagen, um bis zum letzten Blutstropfen gegen Unterdrückung von Minderheiten zu kämpfen. Was mit kleinen Operationen der Rebellenfraktion Desert Dogs begann, entwickelte sich zu einem Krieg ungeahnten Ausmaßes.

Der Team-Shooter War Rock knüpft an die Erfolgsgeschichte der bekanntesten Genrevertreter an und verbindet sie mit den immer beliebteren Online-Spielen. Bis zu 32 Spieler stürzen sich gemeinsam in die Schlacht. Ausschlaggebend für einen Sieg ist aber nicht nur die Größe des Teams, sondern vor allem die Taktik. Welche Seite setzt die verfügbaren Klassen besser ein und nutzt das Terrain zu seinem Vorteil? Den Siegern winken nicht nur virtuelles Kleingeld für neue Waffen und Rüstungen, sondern auch Prestige in den zahlreichen Ligen.

An sich ein schönes Spiel. Hatte es damals schon (ca. 2010) gezockt und es hat da schon extrem Spaß gemacht. Es ist nur schwierig als Neuling hereinzukommen, da nur High-Level Typen zocken. Es ist sehr schade, dass so wenige dieses Spiel noch zocken, obwohl es sehr viel Potenzial hat. Es sollte eigentlich noch weiter programmiert werden. Es ist seit 10 Jahren in Chapter 3 und es war ja schon Chapter 4 angekündigt, jedoch bis jetzt ohne Erfolg. Das Spiel wurde sehr oft rumgereicht, weshalb die Entwicklung sehr einstecken musste. Es gibt 2 Server und es spielen eigentlich alle auf dem EU-Server, weshalb auch sehr viele Laggen.

Das Spiel ist vom aufbau richtig gut gemacht worden, schade ist nur das die Laggs deutlich zu erkennen sind und nicht gefixt wurden seid WarRock beginn, mit Laggs meine ich (z.b. wenn jemand durch die ecke rollt anstatt darum herum) Trotzdem macht das Spiel mega viel Spaß und hat gutes sucht potenzial, Ich hoffe nur das sie es noch ein bisschen auf pappen

ist halt so schlecht wie vor 11 jahren. das game sah damals schon nicht gut aus für heutige verhältnisse eig. unzumutbar gameplay wurde auch nie verändert ist recht öde und alles in allem super p2w. alles ist besser.. ernsthaft... versenkt keine zeit in diesem scheiß

War Rock ist perfekt für alle die ein trotz der Tatsache dass es ein Old School Shooter Game ist sehr gut gemacht und für jeden gemacht, der alte Zeiten wieder erwecken will.

War Rock war mal geil. Aber das ist 3000 Jahre her. Die Entwickler damals haben das Feld zu lange den Hackern überlassen und zu wenig für die Weiterentwicklung getan. Das hat dafür gesorgt das sich mehr und mehr Spieler von War Rock abgewendet hatten. Diesen Vertrauensverlust kann man nicht mehr beheben wenn man es dann bei Steam hochlädt. Ich hab mir die Steam-Charts zu War Rock mal angesehen. Gerade eben gab es 74 Spieler, Tageshöchststand 374. Das Game ist tot. Schade. Wäre ein schöner Nostalgie-Titel gewesen.

Wahnsinn.
Dieses Spiel hat meine Kindheit geprägt. Eins der besten und spaßigsten F2P-Shooter überhaupt. Einzigartiges Movement und Gameplay. Einfach nur empfehlenswert. Ich hoffe, dass die Community des Spiels wieder zunimmt wie in alten Zeiten, um den Spielspaß für alle wieder größer zu machen,aber leider ist das Potenzial dafür zu gering, da das Spiel schon ziemlich alt ist und die Konkurrenz hingegen sehr zugenommen hat.
Dennoch hoffe Ich, dass das Spiel noch eine lange Zeit spielbar bleibt. Einen Platz in meinem und in vielen unserer Herzen wird es dennoch definitiv haben! <3

This game was absolute banger back in 2006-2009. But sadly after the K2 Network(?) sold the rights for this game in 2010(?) it wen't downhill fast. And now it's just a shell of it’s former glory :(.

Please make improvements so the game doesn't die. This gives me Combat arms and Battlefield vibes. Please don't give up. You got this. Overall the game is excellent. Need's more players & improvement.

I used to play this game everyday back when it released in 2006. It was a lot of fun and was a lot different. All that inhabits this game anymore are sweats that never see the light of day and micro-transactions like you wouldn't believe. It's so disappointing and depressing to see this game fall so far. I don't think anyone will be on this page anymore, but if you are then don't download this game. You'd be better off using that storage for porn to wank it to and cry later.

If you aren't already aware this game first launched in 2006, it's not from 2019 that's just the Steam launch, a decade beyond when the game was relevant.

Back when the game was new it was a fast paced arcade style coop shooter in a style that has honestly not been properly repeated. First person shooters have gravitated towards either slower pacing (for realism) or full on cartoons for humor and various other styles have further diversified the genre while no one has bothered to straddle the gap in quite the same way.

15 to 20 years ago I was pretty into completive FPS games and there's very few I look back on with as much nostalgia as this and I put 1000's of hours into it from 2006 to 2009. I really could sing the praises of this game extensively, but it's not worth the effort because this isn't the War Rock that it used to be and likely never could be again.

Do note that the company that manages the game has changed several times over the years. Back when I played, K2 networks had active moderators to monitor the game and actively ban cheaters and they would run official events and really foster the community spirit. There was an optional subscription model, but the prices were reasonable and they were set like an MMO, one fee and you got exactly what was listed and free players had access to competitive weapons, the subscriber benefits were minimal.

All of this and more has changed. Now?
* Overpriced microtransactions for everything (and with pay to win weapons/med-kits)
* Free-to-play with no cheat detection and no moderators (game is over run with cheaters)
* Peer-to-peer networked, if anyone in the match has a weak computer, everyone connected will lag
* Terrible steam integration (requires a 3rd party registration ~ but if you already had one you can't import it to the steam version either so returning players might as well stay on their old leveled-up non-steam accounts)
* Tons of level up grinding to encourage buying XP boosters

10 to 15 years ago I'd have been promoting this game, but not after what it's been transformed into. I can't even play this for nostalgia, it's just not the same game anymore.

This is the first time the game has been playable in years. I haven't noticed any hacker issues, and it feels pretty much like it did 14 years ago.

this game's good, in around 2008 - 2013
but we're talking about this game in 2020, it's absolutely trash.
except if u just want to feel nostalgic, go ahead, but don't expect the same experience as 10 years ago.

Hisoka, Baron, Aznjoka (alex), Natasha(prttygrl) Sick, Ent1cle, Wash, Bedtimez, Random, Digginz, uzisuicide, .aMs boys from back in the days ( Mellowz, dark, the dude in the flipfops from the old clan TnD (teamNodemise). Who else played an impact and i want to give a shout out to? hmm. Perfectz everyone thought was hacking, ZZfearzZ the hacker haha, durian or whatever that made sick frag videos, rickey, the #1 player of all time god Gumbah! fattie, hoodzy, All those old HH guys from original clan. TCP original clan for making UO fun as shit. and there's so many i've missed... i'm sure. I'm pretty high and can't remember all the names right now but thanks for the good times :)

Heres an honest review.
If you're an NA player... it's probably not worth playing.
Put over 10000 hours on since 2007 beta... Damn what a ride. Now i own an account with 120 retails on a game that has no north american servers and I feel like the old brazilians/mexicans used to on NA servers back in the day...
Jesus I've quit multiple time for years on this game. And always come back to see if any of my friends play.
I played with so many awesome people and spent hours with them. My first friend alex(aznjoka), I met from a past game (maid marian tank ball). And we tried it out and loved it in 2007 beta. We played like noobs. Shit some of the funniest time i had playing War Rock were noob Emblem days sniping with a ssg.

Damn I've been there from K2, to gamersfirst, to nexon, and here we are now. It has my favorite cqc map of all time... Khali. Has one of the best feeling guns in any shooter ive ever played the k1.
Is it trash? Not if you're european. If you want to make a new account, you can do so with your steam, but you can not link an old existing account. Kinda stupid.

K2 were the glory days. Damn from k2-nexon i went through so many different account names. Clueless gameplay and endless hours with friends. I was 14 when i found warrock and got hooked instantly. I just played and played this game damn game all the time, back when prone was in cqc? haha. Crazy.. It was so fun. There were a lot of bugs. there were so many iterations of OP bugs, weapons, glitches... haha. but it was so much fun.
The sound bugs to modify your sound files to hear longer ranges? haha. so many great times.

Gamersfirst came and it was pretty good, they seemed to want to pump more content into the game. which was pretty cool, I barely could afford premuim back in these days so on the rare occasion I got it, it was so much fun. I had friends I barely knew I account shared with. I found accounts online with retails and you could just play on them. We were kinda getting access to more of the korean items, DE would release to NA so slowly. The first time i got premium that i paid for by myself the mp7 released. Holy fuck it was op. I mean
I remember all the map glitches with rockets like panzer or stinger in cadoro haha, getting outside of map. Getting under the map in the shit sniper town map with the two different ladder things you can climb. Mine camping khali vent... Velruf camping derb... NIU sniping...the endless clan wars... ESL... damn so many great memories. Bloc haloween, xmas velruf, xmas marien, all the amazing perfect maps, when they introduced Deathmatches. Khyber 1v1s on halls, glitching in the barrels, haha. marien had so many jumps and bugs.
Endless waves of hackers during the whole time of course... but still fun when you can find the legit matches.

Nexon. i had quit multiple after g1 went down hill... but when nexon took over i had converted my account then switched my account over. and I had a good job at the time... so i had plenty of money to spend on the game and Nexon showed who they really were and made it obvious they only cared for money.. at least k2 and g1 hid it and didnt go full out like nexon... nexon sold retail EVERYTHING. I have 12 famas retails... they used to be rare as FUCK. i have 3 m134s, like 10 different rocket launches m249, 4 aw50s, 2 vss, 1 psg, l8, 4 mp7, k1's, like my inventory is ridiculous if it was 2010ish?or around... haha the not only did they never fix any of the hacker situation k2, g1 and they had always fought, the lag got worst... less na players.. they took the server away... i mean they basically made it unfun for NA players.

Papayplay? Honestly the game is in such a bad stake i ocassionally get on and play a few khali and maps to get my itch... but ill never be that hard core player anymore...

nowadays i play csgo, apex, MW, so if anyone from the past want to play sometime add me :D

I've played this game for about 2000 hours. It was great fun till 2014/15 then it went straight down the hill. I stoped playing and just had a look from time to time. But surprisingly, I've tried it the last 3 days and have to say it isn't that bad atm. I didn't encounter a single hacker or meet someone who used ovc. Sure, it is quite heavily p2w but with enough practice a Mp5k, K1 and M4 are more than enough to have fun and shred some ppl. That almost everyone is cutting the corners and runs through the edges of walls isn't a problem for me. What surprised me the most is that there are almost 70 rooms in CQC mode which is plenty for some casual games.
So my advice to the new player is to stick with the game for some time. It is frustrating in the beginning but with time and a little bit of practice you'll have fun and get rewarded with an unique type of gameplay and movement

So i've been playing this shitty game from the beginning but i won't anymore because it's impossible to play it now. Before papaya took over it was full of hackers and it was unplayable .but then after they kindof fixed the hackers issue ..and now under papaya i get disconnected all the time ! I noticed whenever there is more than 4 bars or more on the server(the bars showing how many people is playing currently) i get disconnected from server. The support and staff do not listen or care and they never do anything about it, u can send all tickets u want . They only care to rake money for themselves. Never fixed anything ! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY ! I preferred playing with hackers and cheaters of all sorts rather than playing now.... trust me it's really getting worse . i think we should let i die slow .

War Rock
The game haven't change since the 1st day i played it and there was a lot of nostalgia. If you're a type of person who likes FPS games i would definitely recommend this. But please don't down vote the game just because its really old. If you're planning to play this i'm telling its not like other FPS games you have played you would experience things you haven't experience before.
The only downside is we have experienced a lot of games that has a much better graphics than this. That's the reason our standard is too high

|EDIT| I noticed that the majority of players are veteran that maybe the reason why new and returning player are having a hard time enjoying the game.
