Two Worlds 2 is literally one of the best Fantasy RPGs of all time and one of my favourite videogames overall. I could think about dozens of amazing aspects here. The Graphic is incredible and unique, still looking breathtaking after all these years. Unlike the first part now you got well written Dialogues and super good voice actors. Controls and keybindings work great, the fighting system is top. The Character Progression System is as i mentioned in my TW1 Review one of the best i ever experienced, especially the Mage part is setting new Standarts in terms of building out and experimenting. The Main Plot is still meh but has definetely improved and is existing more in the background. leading the player to various locations what connects with a lot of sidequests. The overall questing experience advanced brutally, i enjoyed nearly every single side and main quest. They offer often different choices and have mostly non obvious outcomes. Characters are worthy to be remembered, taking their role immersively and believable. The Intro is legendary in the history of RPGs, the cutscenes solid and the Soundtrack atmospheric. The unique Two Worlds Engine is really pushing to the maximum in this part with a ton of great mechanics.

One of the most underrated Games of all time and a simple masterpiece.

I have to mention that i am experiencing pretty much zero bugs, nothing gamebreaking. Just some item or menu names are not getting displayed properly and instead an id code takes place, which is no problem at all.

Auch mit den ganzen Addons, Pirates of the Flying Fortress und Call of the Tenebrae. Rollenspiele so intensiv spielt.

Games great once you fix it yourself. I originally beat it on PS3 and wanted to experience on PC but not with out hassle. here is the Fix

First Download the game then do these steps.
Step 1: Turn on Steam Cloud save in properties and launch then game. it will say Item Activation and the only thing to do from there is click exit.
Go to https://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/4556/7/74922/download
Download the Patch. ( It is safe)

Step 2: Extract the files in Programs(86)>Steam>SteamApps>Common>TwoWorlds2
then open the new file once copied. Install the New update and when its done uncheck launch two worlds 2 and click finish.

Step 3: Reopen Steam and launch two worlds 2, enter your game code and if you bought the DLC you gotta go back and run the file update again and make sure and uncheck the run two worlds 2 box and launch Two Worlds 2 from steam again and enter the DLC Code.

Now that that is done the game is good to go. But if you want achievements to work these next steps are important.

Step 4: make a random guy then escape the castle. when you go thru the portal and land on the chick save the game and at this point you wont get the first achievement. Apparently this game sees the patch as a mod.

Step 5: Now that Steam cloud save is active uninstall the game then go to you game files
Programs(86)>Steam>SteamApps>Common>TwoWorlds2 then delete the two worlds 2 folder and go to recycle bin and Delete it and make sure the update file is not extracted elsewhere. Re download the game and the game will be downloaded with the original update but the activation will be saved on cloud and you wont have to re activate it. DO NOT Delete your previous save or overwrite it just make a new character and do not overwrite original save and from here on forward the game will work fine and you will get achievements.

I Hope this works for everyone cause it worked for me and it sucks that you gotta do work around but once its done the game is fully enjoyable.

Edit: If you use controller and it wont work make sure steam is in big picture mode. Click on the game then go to controller options and make sure its set to forced on then play in big picture mode,

The game is so BROKEN that you have to download the CDfix files for the CD version to allow you to enter the serial code that you just bought through steam. They need to either properly update the steam files, remove the game from steam entirely, or just get rid of their useless annoying DRM from the game and allow it to be played. People would probably buy and play the game if it actually WORKED!

Normally I don't do reviews this early in a game but I feel it's necessary this time. First off this is a good game and fun to play once you get use to the controls and how they work. It's a bit wonky at first but you get the hang of it pretty quick. Now for my reason to do an early review...there was a big problem with starting the game with my product key. I had to insert a patch manually to get this thing working. If anyone has this problem I can help you get it working so feel free to contact me if your having trouble. It's not super difficult but does require you to manually insert a patch into your game files and do a bit of computer skills. Other than that the game is pretty good!
UPDATE: I also noticed that my achievements are not showing up but I can clearly see them in-game! Well I went in and did a little more tweaking and now the achievements are starting to show up. Also I'm having some crashing issues but just minor which I think I can also fix. I don't think the Devs worry about the game anymore but even with all the work I had to do it's still a game worth playing!

Paid for the full game. Only got to play the demo...Then I had to deal with this registry thing that wont accept my internet connection and provides a false phone number registration that doesnt work anymore. Want to waste 5 bucks? buy this game. The developers of this game really dropped the ball and the cd code given by steam doesnt work. I was really looking forward to this, but alas its a broken game.

This isn't a review on the game, but on the company. Outdated DRM has been basically preventing anyone who buys it of late from playing, as the game just sits on a 'waiting for steam key' screen. Quite honestly, this game probably shouldn't even be allowed up for sale right now, as it's not a working product.

These folks never had the decency to remove the CD Key and all of its associated issues. You have had TEN YEARS to take HALF AN HOUR to fix this. Steam should demand back all the money you have been paid for your games and ban any individual involved from publishing on Steam again.

Like the first part, this is a classic RPG.
You have a hero at your disposal, you go through all sorts of locations within the story, you complete tons of quests, you search for and use better and better equipment, you soap monsters, you chat with different characters…

My muscular character was supposed to be an archer at first, but after trying it, refined, but according to my clumsy archery, I thrust a magic stick into his hand. But it didn't work out either, because the system of spells, operating with freely combinable cards of elements and effects, is in the beginning too tied to the unavailability of cards. So all that remained was to draw and master the art of the sword. And let me tell you, it wasn't fun in the beginning. The rhythm of the fight has Two Worlds even more original than Witcher (of his time).
An open world game promises so much that it will have a problem fulfilling everything. But if we succeed, game nirvana awaits us.

The colorful world of Antaloor is more important here than the drama that grips it.

A huge, freely explorable world, untied character development with a lot of talents and abilities, own spells, tons of weapons, a number of tasks, alchemy, horses and, for example, an ambitious multiplayer conceived as a pseudo online game. 80%

I think this game is, honestly, one of those games that is 'so close' to being amazing. From a mechanical perspective, it's really perfect.

But, the age of this game shows and really puts me off of playing it too seriously, sadly. Really stiff and rigid character movements and very slow looting animations. No ability to disable auto-aim (that I could tell). Clunky 'space-bar to pickup/interact/jump' decision when there are oh so many keys on a keyboard that could be delegated to each of these tasks seperately. I could go on.

If I had to compare this game to another, I'd say it reminds me a lot of Outward. Though, it's not nearly as exaggerated in terms of difficulty or world scale (though, of course, I didn't really play for too long).

Going to have to thumbs down this one.

Brought this game around the time it came out and have not played it since 2014. I reinstalled it today to play singleplayer and to my surprise i can't play the game anymore because it does not recognize both my cd keys for the base game and the dlc. I can only assume this has to do with the ridiculous limited activation DRM which you would think with a game this old would have been removed by now.

Two Worlds 2 in a nutshell:
At first the game feels empty and janky but once you get used to the mechanics you get past the bad parts. There is a lot to do in this game and for $7 on sale its definitely worth it. I'm about 20 hours in and i still have a loaded quest log with many more main missions. The combat feels gross at first but manages to get a bit better later on. I would advise you to change up the keyboard layout to make it feel more modern in terms of accessibility. Overall I have been playing this game non-stop and i recommend it for things like story line, character engagement, free roam, armor sets and weapon customization, and the amount of things you can do within Two Worlds 2.

It is janky but still has charm about it . This time around a lot has been improved from npc dialogue and so on. It still is pretty janky in a lot of areas and actually might top spiders and Pirana bytes in terms of awkwardness and jank. I do like the overall story even though it does have some silly moments it has heart. The combat and horse riding and such is pretty awkward so play with it for a while before venturing too far. If its on sale its a good buy.

Generic, bland, uninspiring. Does the game work? Most of the time? Will you have fun? Not really. Finished the game once, and never picked it up again. If you are desperate for an RPG, get it when its deeply on sale, otherwise keep looking.

A horrible sequel but an all together fun game. They completely change major lore plot points and the entire dialect and speaking mannerisms of literally everyone. They also change the spelling and pronunciation of one of the main character's names, except sometimes they pronounce it the same as they did in the first game.
Still a fun RPG even if the entire last section is just full of stun lock and knock down enemies and the final battle uses primarily a new mechanic and makes you watch the same cutscene again and again, but you can at least skip the cutscene. The ending is also really dissapointing but that's what you get sometimes. Still recommend it and plan to play it again in a few years.

This could have been good, but apart from a lot of jank and uninspired writing, the main issue I see is that it sleeps on its most interesting ideas through the RPG mechanics. The spell customization is hidden behind a wall of different skills, most of which you won't even be able to unlock early on, which makes comittting to building as a wizard early on pointless. At least Skyrim gives you fire and heal in the first area, as boring as that game's magic is until later on. There's just very little here to inspire long-term interest.

“Bad spelling can be lethal. For example, the greedy Seriph of Al-Yabi was cursed by a badly-educated deity and for some days everything he touched turned to Glod, which happened to be the name of a small dwarf from a mountain community hundreds of miles away who found himself magically dragged to the kingdom and relentlessly duplicated. Some two thousand Glods later the spell wore off. These days, the people of Al-Yabi are renowned for being remarkably short and bad-tempered.”
~Sir Terry Pratchett

Let's just admit it, there's something seriously wrong with modern AAA gaming. I mean... you know. Not only companies like Square-Enix and Ubisoft try to sell us tons of overpriced DLC and even season pass is not enough for them. Personally, I'm really tired of all those “ultimate editions” that turn out to be not so ultimate and not even having a half of the content. Heck, more and more companies just keep making season passes! Season pass two, season pass three, season pass strikes back, season pass returns, the final pass, season pass: the new nightmare, season pass vs. Jason, season pass reboot... The way they milk games nowadays is just ridiculous. But you know what's even worse? It's when such overpriced AAA games with tons of the DLC begin to act like f2p titles and sell us pay-to-win bull through the in-built stores. I mean, seriously. $120 game... with f2p-like store that sells pay-to-win crap? I really wonder at what point video games took the wrong turn. One way or another, I feel really bad being a part of all that.

Unfortunately... There's another bottom for that kind of stuff. I'm talking about the situations when games with way smaller budget decide to pretend being AAA. You play games like Far Cry 3, Killzone 2 and The Darkness, and then BOOM! Aliens: Colonial Marines with HAZE appear and you're like “mot*****r...” I don't mind that kind of games, though. I mean, the trick about those is to never ever buy them for their full price. But when you get them from bargain bin or pick them up during Steam sale? I actually don't mind playing all those clunky-ass games. For example, games like Divinity II: Ego Draconis and Rise of the Argonauts were clunky as heck, but still, they were fine. Get them on sale? And you'll sure have a fair share of fun. As long as you don't have anything better to play that is.

And Two Worlds II? Even though it's not nearly as unique as Divinity II (really, don't expect anything fresh here, it's the most generic action RPG you can ever imagine), it's still playable. It doesn't have nearly as many technical issues as previous game in the series (I mean, it still has quite a lot of bugs, but let's admit it - for Two Worlds game having a proper gamepad support out of the box is a pretty big achievement), the battle mechanics is clunky but fun, it looks fine (especially since what we have here is an updated HD version) and so on. Sure, I can't call it a good game. The entire open world feeling here disappeared (even though technically, open world is still there, levels got serious corridor aftertaste), characters are still painfully shallow, the story still sucks (you'll quickly find yourself skipping the dialogues just because they're perfectly useless and empty) and having all those long and boring cutscenes in something with such a cheap aftertaste? It just feels wrong. I mean, it's one thing when there are all those long talks in games like The Witcher 3 and Uncharted. Can't call myself a big fan of those games, but they look great and presentation there is bloody fantastic. But when something as cheap as Two Worlds II begins to act like one of those expensive games? It just feels wrong. Weird. And wrong.

Unfortunately, there's a certain thing about this game that ruins it completely. And no, I'm not talking about DLC. Actually, those single player DLC for Two Worlds II are far from being the worst kind and feel more like expansions. I'm talking about the fact that this game comes... with an in-game store. That funny little thing that's called “In-App Purchases”? The one that's mentioned in Steam store? Let's just say it's not a joke. Actually, in-game store is the reason why they kept making DLC for this game and why we ended up with the HD re-release.

And that's a huge problem. Seriously, it feels terrible. Think about it. When Deus Ex begins to sell pay-to-win crap, quite a lot of people can swallow that. Not all of them, but quite a lot. Just because it's a Deus freakin' Ex. Sure, it'll be (way) better in Dishonored way, but well, it's Deus Ex. But when something like DARK tries to do the same thing? It's a freakin' joke. Playing Two Worlds II alone is a very arguable decision. Just because honestly, the game just doesn't give you enough reasons to waste your time on it. Everything here – from story to core mechanics kinda sucks. It's kinda tolerable... but it kinda... sucks. It's one of those games that you play because you don't have anything better. But even if you still consider paying for it (I mean, hey! There's even some basic multiplayer here!), there's an in-built store to make you decide against this title.

Anyway, that was a lot of letters. So, here's the long story short: this game looks OK, the story here sucks, the characters here are shallow, gameplay is clunky, cutscenes are boring, there are bugs, there's a cheap aftertaste, quite a lot of DLC and in-built store that sells you stuff for real money. Do you really need something like this? Think about it.

Just applied for a refund.

I only played for about 45 minutes before deciding this game wasn't for me. Its just so scuffed. I couldn't get into it.

The depth of the magic system drew me in, but the story, graphics, voicing, gameplay, and pretty much everything else was lacking. It felt like shit to play and the character handles very strangely.

It's a shame though. There are a lot of really cool ideas. Especially the magic. I just can't play it.

But if you're willing to look past all the crap, it might be a pretty good RPG. Just not for me.

The best RPG since oblivion, this game is an underrated fine piece of RPG gaming.

A bold statement? Yes.
A false statement? No.

First off,

==Gameplay==

The game play is solid and moving around feels great even while sprinting which may I add looks amazing. The combat can seem a bit daunting and difficult at first, especially as a mage but you'll soon find yourself slaying many of the creatures TW2 has to offer and having a hell of alot of fun while doing so.

Melee combat itself is great with nice fluid block and counter mechanics that look amazing, melee combat is refreshingly dynamic in the sense that it isn't the same attack animation over and over until the bad guy is dead. Take dual wielding for example, your character fights with such grace and graphical brilliance you'll sometimes check twice your not watching a well choreographed cinematic.

Magic combat is, I found at least, hard to begin with because early in the game you don't really put out enough damage to stop whatever fiend your attacking from getting close and bashing your face in. It can be off putting but stick to it because mage gets VERY VERY good. And once you get a nice set of robes a nice staff and some of your very own made spells, yes you can make your own spells, you'll soon be commanding undead minions or hurling bouncing fire bolts at enemies in no time.

Ranged combat is very nice in TW2 and looks great, although in some places such as caves and small rooms you can often find yourself overwhelmed and having to retreat to a safe distance or fire as many arrows into the bad guys face while hoping you don't die. This is to be expected however, because let's face it a rangers combat prowess lies in distance and boy in distance landscapes (Of which TW2 has alot of) you will find yourself happily using enemies as a pin cushion before they even think of getting close.

Now, stealth combat. Stealth combat in TW2 is somewhat strange because it's not a full class in it's own right because it lacks any combat skills which is a shame because while you can fight with a dagger it's just a simple 3 hit combo. Stealth is more of a utility rather than combat class because you can pick pocket, pick locks, one hit kill people in the back, sneak around and place traps.

Crafting is great and you can upgrade all your weapons and armour, so that trusty sword you got at level 15 may very well be at your side at level 20 while you slice and dice your enemies. You can add special gems to weapons and armour to give them effects such as fire, ice , lightning etc. Most of the time it's better to dismantle any unwanted loot rather than sell it so you can use the materials to upgrade your own equipment.

Making potions is your typical throw ingredients in a pot and click create. And hoping you get something decent after. You can save recipes if you find a suitably good recipe to save time and effort when you want to make x amount of them.

==Graphics==

Just wow. Easily the best looking RPG to date there is no doubting that, the world looks amazing the armours all look amazing, weapons look amazing. Pretty much everything looks amazing and the game is pretty well optimized too. One thing that really stood out for me is just how good open landscapes look, they look incredible sometimes the lighting can seem overdone and sometimes blinding but other than that you will be opened mouthed, wide eyed and in amazement of what's being displayed on your screen.

==Sound==

The music is very nice and 9 times out of 10 suits the town or zone your in just perfectly. The voice acting is great, unlike the first game which was sadly not very good. Your character sounds suitably bad ass and not in the cheesy try-hard to be bad ass sense, he sounds great. And other NPCs sound great with a very few voices inducing face-palm moments.

The combat sounds great with clangs and bangs having a nice sounding ring to them rather than a sound engineer whacking a can of beans with a spoon. Magic sounds great and casting them cues your character to chant magical words which sounds great. Ranged combat hasn't been left in the dark in the sound department, whizzing arrows sound nice and when they hit something they sound great.

==Story==

Well it can seem quite confusing at first but once you get to grips with it, it does seem good. Although the story is easily the weakest point about TW2 and is why im only giving it a 9 instead of a 10. Don't let this discourage you from purchasing this fine game however, the gameplay MORE than makes up for it.

Game runs quite well. However, the game was falsely advertised as a full controller support. This is false.
I can honestly say that if I knew that this game did not have full controller support, I would not have purchased this game. I was duped for a game that had blatant misleading advertisement. Despite the full controller support notification given on the store page and game page, be prepared to use a mouse and keyboard.

The main game itself is a fantastic, classic RPG. I enjoyed fighting through savanna and jungle environments, versus the usual medieval forests you see in so many RPGs. The odd, twisted land known as The Swallow was unique as well. Another feature that really stands out is the magic system, which allows unparalleled customization of spells.

The expansion pack, Pirates of the Flying Fortress was fun, but many of the enemies felt resistant to my magic. It was heck to play as a pure mage, and I had to branch out into combat skills to beat it.

Overall, this game is absolutely worth it!

As you can see I got over 200 hours in this game, played all single and multiplayer DLCs (Except Shattered Embrace, will grab it later :D).
This game is by no means perfect.
- physics are literally wooden - you can jump 20m in the air and you are good but fall 20 cm and you get massive damage
- echoes of the dark past DLCs interfere with the base game (I had a weird red/blue filter while playing Pirates of the Flying Fortress - it basically made the game unplayable) so only install them after you finish Pirates of the flying fortress. Even in multiplayer's graveyard defense map, this bug is present.
- some items don't have proper names or icons
- quests sometimes bug out

Did the things above stop me from enjoying the game? Nope. For me Two worlds 2 has all the qualities of a legendary game, I enjoyed the story, spell system is the most satisfying I've ever experienced, archery is super powerful, haven't really tried melee but people say it's decent as well. The only complaint I'd have is that the game was too easy for me - I literally oneshot the final boss on hardest difficulty. But that might be just me considering I've seen people crying the game was too hard for them (lol).

Sadly multiplayer is kind of a waste of time at the moment - it could be fun while playing with people, but there's nobody to play with anymore and you can probably finish all it offers in a day or two. Then there's just nothing to do.
With Echoes of the dark past (multiplayer) and Call of Tenebrae (singleplayer) DLCs the game becomes a loot pinata - you get a chest to open every 5 seconds, that's not fun. At least allow skipping opening animation if you do that xD
Two multiplayer DLCs basically only added 4 maps to play and a bunch of items, you'll play through them and get bored in one day. Call of Tenebrae DLC is less stable than Pirates of the Flying Fortress. I only managed to bug one quest once in pirates while I had to be very careful about them in Call of Tenebrae - talk to a NPC too early or pick a wrong moment and the quest can break. One area lagged my game hard for about 10 seconds after I teleported to it.
People said the DLCs were just a cashgrab and I kind of have to agree with that, but it's still the game that I liked and you can grab them all super cheap, so it's not like it matters. I see most negative reviews came from adding a $ shop to single player, where people can buy potions and other crap. Who cares? Why would you pay real money for stuff you can get while playing? I guess the only people that wrote negative reviews because of that were ones that actually used it :D
Two worlds 2 is a game that you can hate, or you can embrace its flaws and love it like me. You'll never know unless you try ;)

Good old RPG from times when games sold finished, with lots of content and DLCs only added new story line. Base game alone can be beaten in ~50 hours (if you won't be wasting your ingame time on crafting or alchemy experiments).
You start where you left off in the first game - your sister Kyra has to be freed from her captor. You can pick from 3 classes (melee, magic, archery) at the beginning but it won't prevent you from developing a char as you see fit. the system is open and you can create hybrids if you want.
If you played the first game you will notice changes to crafting and alchemy, now it won't let you to create perma potions, now you don't have to hunt for specific armor or weapon to upgrade, you break existing gear and use raw materials for upgrades. Not bad but I missed alchemy from the first game, it was more potent back then :)
Magic in this game is the best I ever seen in RPGs. You can create complex spells with 2 active effects, make first effect to ricochet up to 5 times from enemy to enemy, use multiple spray elements to shower 'em, homing for your spell to chase enemy, beefy summons and much more. As you rise willpower your spell damage also rises so your spell scales with your progress.
Armor, weapon - plenty and everything looks good. designers did amazing job on these items. Can't recall any other game with such great armor. And don't get me wrong, there's many sets, you can recolor most of it, pick from cloth, chain, leather base, it's not just couple of sets. This game has crafting so if you like your armor you can upgrade it with crafting and wear it thru the game if you want. Nice to see a game that allows you to remain good looking.
Humor, not as cheeky as the first game, I guess the main hero is getting older and grumpier but at some points I laughed so hard. Also some quests feel like it's trolling.

Needless to say I enjoyed this game greatly. It's flawed but so fun. Enjoyed it despite the flaws. But read carefully, maybe these flaws can be game breaking for you:

- glitches in quests that can lead to butchered game. create new save every 2-3 hours and in case of butchered quests just reload. I had to do this once almost before the end.
- end boss is not fun and does not take into account your character, you still have to do mundane shooting to kill it. similar issue with the boss from Pirates DLC if you play as a mage (you can't kill its buffs - altars). I resorted to console cheating that's why I completed the game and DLC but without the achievement.
- by default game has very narrow field of view, I had to create config file to change it from 45 to 75. after that game felt great. make sure to check game forums and adjust your FOV.
- inventory and UI in general is not very good, you can't move items in batches, only one by one.

Technical details. At first because of steam client failure I wasn't able to play it on Linux so started on Windows 7 and it worked good out of the box. Then I figured out steam play issue and played DX10 version with Proton 5.0 (5.13 does not work ATM) and Nvidia proprietary drivers. According to mangohud game used DXVK, 2GB of RAM and felt fluid on capped 60FPS.

Very flawed, but still a fantastic game.

+ Amazing quests. The writting is great. Tons of variety and they always come with interesting stories.
+ Amazing music, tons of beautiful and epic tracks.
+ Great level design, not everything is good, but when it's good it is very good. Beautiful sightseeings and huge locations to explore.
+ Great explorarion. The world is very explorable with tons of optional areas to explore.
+ Oculus. Kind of like noclip mode.
+ The days are long the nights are short in Savannah. They are equally long in other regions.
+ It is extremely romantic, very inspiring. The protagonist's relationships are very cheesy but the relationships of side characters in side quests are truly romantic.
+ So many books to read. There's over a hundred of them and most of them are interesting to read.
+ 187 quests only in base game alone. There are also 3 huge expansions for single player, a whole multiplayer campaign, extra multiplayer campaign and two multiplayer expansions. That's content for a long time to play through.

- I swear I could have configured colour saturation. They must have removed it with HD update.
- With HD update they disabled some item cheat codes and added microtransactions...
- Silent dialogues, loud music in some cutscenes. I swear it was all fine before HD update...
- Possibly worst lip-sync I've ever seen.
- Worst riding mechanics ever. Pressing RMB every second and stop cause if overpress I fall off the horse... Whistle is useless as it only works a few dozens of meters away the horse.
- Combat can get very repetitive.
- Getting termite eggs is beyond broken. There is a questline in which you need to collect many termite eggs. There are two problems. Firstly, this item is in limited amount and also in random amount. You get 0-3 termite eggs per looting mound. I highly recommend to save before every mound and accept only if you get 2 or 3 eggs. Reload save if you get 0 or 1. Secondly, half of mounds are in broken places too, sometimes you need to drop a box or two to make a nest reachable, sometimes I have to place a horse and glitch jump in between until the mound becomes reachable. It's almost impossible to loot them.
- Cave design is plain lazy. There are about 5 different cave designs and they are copy pasted in all other caves. There are dozens of unique caves, but dozens are copy-pasted.
- Switching autolock target does not work half the time. Also even if disabled it still doesn't shoot there it is supposed to.
- Hot keys are so difficult to learn. There are different skill hotkeys for both attacking/blocking or aiming/sniper modes. It's easy to use, but very hard to figure it out.
- You can only sell one item per time. Can't even sell all of the same item. Also the prices decreases with each item you sell, but restarts if you quit and come back... also the prices you buy and sell are way too unfair.
- Glitched quests. I cannot believe it. There was a quest there I had to search a dead body on the floor. I bought a house nearby and the body got bellow the floor somehow. It took me a good hour until I managed to get below floor and search the body. Same thing with dead body happened in other quests too...
- Slow upgrading. You start extremely weak and very slowly get stronger and stronger. If you play on hard difficulty, the first 25 hours will be quite grindy, but after that you will feel how much stronger you have become and it will feel great. Later you become overpowered and the game becomes too easy.
- Boat sailing is too slow.
- Very rarely, but some of the dialogues are broken. The subtitle lines are correct but the spoken text is from entirely different project. How did they mess it up so bad? Or is someone trolling hard and messed up the voice acting on purpose?
- Last island is a scam. It's huge, but only a very small portion of it is explorable.

Still, even though it's a very flawed game, I had hundreds of hours of entertainment, including all expansions it took me over 257 hours to complete. I loved it so much.

This game has all the ingredients for a perfectly passable open-world RPG, but it manages to miss the mark with every one. The epic story has no connection, the characters are boring and flat, the interesting aesthetics are washed out and faded, the music is... there. So many clever ideas and mechanics are wasted on a bland final product.

This looks like a beautiful title from screenshots and store page but this title is simply outdated.

Graphically this title has aged and is unpleasant to look at due to the horrible camera that likes to sway for effect often.

Sound engine is unimpressive with shallow ambience and lack luster soundtrack.

Overall I find the combat system poorly executed with mages feeling somewhat broken.

It would be a good decision to pass up on this title.

Went through the campaign and half of the DLC right after doing another play through of Two Worlds. The sequel lacks the so bad it's entertaining charm of the original, but I think it's still worth a run (as long as you get it dirt cheap).

They straight up took a dump on quality of life features. The UI is awful. You can no longer snap matching items on each other to boost stats. A new item breakdown and crafting system has been added. Which is nothing but mindless busy work. Character control and combat is wonky but still somehow fun. The magic system is fun to play with but requiring a staff to cast magic is lame.

DONT BUY THE DLC. PoFF was a buggy mess and it just got worse from thereon. I stopped at CotT due to the sound and quest bugs.

I just can't recommend this game in this day and age.

I played this RPG back on its release day on Xbox 360, and I remember enjoying my time with it despite it being rough around the edges. However, this game has aged really poorly. What was rough around the edges then is really clunky and janky now. Almost everything about this game feels clunky, from the M+K controls to the combat. The only thing that hasn't aged poorly is the magic system, which is still fantastic after all these years. You get to create your own spells using cards and brother, there are a lot of cards. Experimenting and coming up with spells that work for you is a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it's not that fun to actually use the spells because combat feels so clunky.

If you can get past a pervasive and oppressive amount of jank and clunk, I have no doubt that you'll enjoy your time with this one (especially if you play a mage). However, I don't think that many people will be able to handle this game, and I think their time is best spent with any number of other great RPGs.

Honestly I got this game as a random key on fanatical for like a dollar so I can't say i've paid a ton for it. That being said, while this isn't the best game and im still new into it, i feel like this is a fun game in spite of all it's flaws. The story is shit but you can ignore it, however the combat is actually pretty fun and the way they have made a viable way to mix classes and and skills is pretty ingenious. combat is challenging and you have to figure things out on a fly, maybe some challenge comes from clunkiness, but it feels pretty fun once youre into it. if you go into the game with not too high expectations you can have a pretty good time

Pretty solid game. I enjoyed the magic system and crafting. Let's be honest, it's not a 10 but don't be a stuck up jerk. A solid 7.5 is worth your time isn't it? Oh, you're too good for a 7.5? I don't think I want to talk to you anymore. Good day fellow human. I said good day.

In my ongoing and likely futile effort to write a Steam review for every game in my library (#487 out of 639)... it's time for Two Worlds II.

Essentially a discount-Oblivion, Two Worlds 2 improves on Bethesda's breakout Elder Scrolls with slightly more interesting environmental design and more engaging combat, while indulging in one of the campiest and cheesiest stories I've ever seen, in any form of narrative media. Thankfully, unlike its predecessor, the stories cringe is not quite bad enough to impede enjoyment of the game proper. Roaming the open world and fending off very conventional fantasy-fair monsters while completing very basic quests is sufficiently compelling to warrant giving the game a try, I think, even if it's not quite up to justifying much of a time commitment.

The story is incredibly boring and banal. I won't mention it, not because I don't want to spoil it, but because there is nothing to mention. Do not pick this game and expect an immersive, tabletop-like RPG. Do not expect a rich and compelling world. Do not expect even a modicum of decent writing.

Do pick it up if you love experimenting and you'd like to play a mashup of sandbox and Powder Toy-esque game with magic.

The only and proper way to enjoy this game is to focus on magic.

Wanna know why?

Because you don't just cast spells in this game. In order to cast anything, you must craft spells by combining magical cards in specific ways. The system is incredibly complex and unpredictable, but this way, creating an useful/spectacular/unorthodox spell feels much more rewarding. Combining cards in a certain way allows you to spawn a hurricane with anvils flowing in the middle of it, making it extremely deadly. Change just one card and you might end up making a spell which creates a mere gust of wind which lets you flow. Change two cards and you might create a healing spell. So on.

tl;dr created an anvil tornado by accidentally messing up some spellcrafting cards and killed everyone 10/10

1.) Resolution bug, when starting on mac, doesnt let you finish registration. Took me hours to figure out start ing in demo mode, change graphic settings and finally register my purchased product.
2.) First time playing in network. After about 10 hours of enjoying game play, my character was deleted after relogging...
3. Starting new character having fun playing. After relogging my accound was banned for no reason.... I was level 15, just playing adventure mode with my friend...

I bought this product for 20€ having original serials and get banned for no reason.... better look for other games...

I think its a good game, but the camera basically ruins it.

the magic system is interesting and the combat is pretty good as well.
The story is..... ok and the side-quest are quite varied and fun.
The world is also pretty well designed with varied and interesting looking areas that arent seen all that often within a fantasy setting.
gameplay is really solid.

The only big problem is the camera which makes me feel like a drunk seasick sailor on a sinking ship and it ruins most of the experience.

I played over a hundred hours on 360. It’s got the most unique magic system. I doubt you’ll ever see another game like it. The story is beyond anything I’ve seen in most typical games. I bought it on Steam because I lost the 360 and the game.

After a few attempts, it took a multi-month quarantine to finally get me to play and finish this game. I don't think this game is as charming as its prequel, but it does have the same 'you can store everything in one chest' feature its prequel sported. From a story standpoint, it is about on par with the prequel (poor), but the gameplay is solid. My biggest gripe with this game is how suddenly it ended. The world map is large, and you spend a lot of time exploring two of the largest islands on the map, but when you finally access the main continent... the game ends. The main continent is the only area on the world map that is not part of the main game. Maybe it's covered by DLC, but it just felt a bit misleading to me... I think they should have called it Half World.

I'm an old school player who likes to search every corner and possibility that the game has to offer and you can tell by my playtime that I did. Normally I would give a positive review but there are some major issues that I cannot overlook.

Bugs and glitches
There is a lot of smaller bugs, for example - falling through the textures or getting stuck because of the bad level design - I could tolerate these as the game allows you to save your progress without limitation.
Much worse are the game-beraking bugs that are connected to the main quest line. Yes, you heard correctly - the game that was given huge number of DLCs and microtransactions has its main quest line broken....This perfectly shows the nature of the devs.
I will describe the bug closely:
- At one point of the game you will visit the university and you will come across the professor who is abusing some female student. You can either expose him or help him. If you choose to help him the door leading into his office gets locked permanently and thus blocking your progress. This is unacceptable especially for the game that got paid DLCs and microtransactions....
But now I honestly believe this is intentional, they want to teach the players(which are paying customers after all...) that helping 'sexist white men' is not an option. If you want to govern your customers remove this option and don't fool us, I have lost hours of my playtime because of this.

Microtransactions
Well this point talks for itself. Instead of tackling many issues in the game they rather add this filth into mostly singleplayer game that is almost ten years old. in Europe the game was released in November 2010.
The game has a multiplayer but nobody plays it....
Just this fact about microtransactions should dissuade you from byuing this game.

Story
I think the term that describes the story is 'average'. There are some better moments but mostly it's just forgettable. The biggest pain is the ending.
SPOILER ALERT!
At the end you realize there must be the Emperor so the order can be held and it's decided that your sister will take his place. Here comes the joke. She is an beautiful woman with juicy breasts, narrow waist and full bum, but in the moment she puts on Emperor's armor her chest changes to flat and wide, her legs and arms gets 3 times bigger.... This is the most absurd and cliché thing you could find in storytelling.
You can get it on some sale but don't expect anything special. But honestly I suggest to you not to buy it just because of the microtransactions nonsense. They just want to milk the money.

Usually this game is compared with Arkania, these two games are very similar, but still in TW2 there are much more opportunities than it seems at first glance ... As for TW2, there is one mission that an ordinary player is not able to pass, it’s called *Termite eggs*. To execute it, you have to use the console. To enable cheat codes you need to write *cotcheats 1* (not *twotworldscheats 1*), and then write *ec.addobjecttoinventory ing_200 30*.
