The game is quite immersive and you're straight into it.
Story is kept simple and that only serves as legitimation for fights. But it still has some interesting twists.
Graphically, I think it's very well done and, above all, it's pretty well optimized in terms of resource consumption.
The effects are also very well implemented. Everything somehow breaks and flies around your ears during the gunfight. It's very chaotic.
it also kind of has a little John Wick vibe to it in combat with being so powerful.
The AI is fine. Doesn't seem as structured and deep as the one from F.E.A.R.
Acoustically, the game is awesome. Weapons feel real and weighty.
There is also replay value through horde modes and mini levels
What I don't like is the few levels.
Content must be unlocked through level successes. A bit unfair for not so skilled players as some good stuff is almost impossible to achieve.
Levels are a bit too few overall.
It has the same problem as Aliens Fireteam. Great game but poor content.
One wishes for a little more.
Still, a game you can play again and again.

Pros:
-Keine langweilige Open World
-Keine ewigen Dialoge die niemanden jucken
-Gameplay!!!!!
FEELS GOOD!!!!!!!
Genau mein Ding!
Das wars von mir!

**However,** If you do not mind the above, this game is 100% a must-buy for anyone looking for a balls-to-the-walls insane gun-fu crack trip game. This game is genuinely one of the few games I own in my steam library that I can genuinely say was made with player fun and enjoyment as it's #1 priority, including almost everything a casual or competitive player could want. There's a difficulty for everyone (Including rage mode, which... Exists, I guess), a whole-ass cheats menu that you unlock either from beating the game or doing missions on certain difficulties, a weapons sandbox with a (Mostly) good range of utility, and of course copious amounts of senseless gore and slaughter.
This game is also, funnily enough, pretty good performance-wise- the options menu gives you a ton of freedom with individual graphical and engine settings, as well as giving you easy-to-understand graphics and text explanations for what each setting does and how it affects performance.
The game also encourages replayability, with *eh* intel bits to collect as well as weapon upgrades, as well as the aforementioned cheats. There is also a secret ending that isn't ridiculously hard to get, albeit it doesn't change much.
To top it all off, the Devs for the game very clearly don't take a corporate approach to their game, being relatively active within the games' discord server (Which you should join btw) and even allowing and endorsing modding. As of right now, the Devs are working towards getting Trepang2 on consoles, but they have stated that they want to add more content to the game once that is done.
With that way-too-long review out of the way, one last thing to say- first person to mod in 105's sword as a working melee option gets my undying love and support.

the most common thing i see is people talking about repetition. if you have the attention span of an infant than don't buy the game, everybody else (normal people) should absolutely not listen to these types of people.
the game, at least for me, has never gotten repetitive. is ultrakill repetitive? nope. so why would this game be?
i do compare this to ultrakill more or less because its the only game that has reached that similarity for me, probably because i don't have a large collection of movement shooters. but my point is that this game has every opportunity for style and feeling awesome which is a feeling i find so rare in normal fps games. its collection of movement and guns make it feel amazing to play and really polished. sure glitches can happen but i haven't found a single game breaking glitch, the most maybe someone getting stuck in a wall. i can see myself playing and replaying this game over and over on higher or even lower difficulties. especially since it gives you a bunch of built in cheats to customise at your will. some only unlock after beating certain missions on high difficulty but that's even more of a reason to keep playing. now the next thing i see complained about is the story. sure its been done before and isn't particularly original, but its still absolutely decent and even exciting at parts. the large carrier of the story i feel would be the voice acting. the voice acting is fantastic. it really makes the world feel alive especially since one of my favourite voice actors, Gianni Matragrano, is multiple very lead roles. who cares if that's biased. i have never played fear, so i cant compare, but this game is definitely one of my favourites of this year. please don't let the braindead children of steam convince you this isn't worth it because i absolutely love this and will search every corner of its possibilities until i've burned myself out. 9/10

First off, the game looks fantastic for an indie title and the movement and gunplay feels great! Unfortunately that's mostly it for the positives.
There's no one thing that brings the overall experience down, but rather many smaller issues. The plot starts out quite intriguing from the start, but doesn't really go anywhere. There are a number of interesting ideas thrown around, but none of them are explored enough for them to really feel meaningful. Levels feel incredibly disjointed with new baddies and loosely connected plot points being introduced and quickly discarded.
The game is divided between side missions and main missions. The main ones are linear with a mix of sci-fi/supernatural horror and pure action, though the game leans a little more towards action than say F.E.A.R. The side missions are all variations of horde mode where you fight neverending spawning enemies in a small environment. This wouldn't be such a problem if the side missions didn't make up about half of the game. Most of these side missions are also extremely tedious as they usually extremely open with enemies constantly swarming in from any and all directions to the point where the flow just devolves into one giant clusterf*ck.
Another issue is that the game is also extremely dark with a worthless flashlight. I turned up the gamma to 150% for some levels and still had trouble seeing things.
All in all, the game FEELS really good once you're in the thick of it, and if you enjoyed the gameplay of F.E.A.R you're likely in for a few good hours in Trepang2 as well. Kudos to the devs for including a vast selection of difficulty levels as well, some of which are brutally challenging.
