Um verschiedene Sonderzüge einsetzen zu können, stellt die Pendlereisenbahnlinie Caltrain ein Paar vielseitige EMD MP15DC-Lokomotiven bereit, die ursprünglich bei der Southern Pacific fuhren.

Die MP15DC ist eine Mehrzweck-Lokomotive, die im traditionellen „Endführerhaus“-Design von Diesel-Rangierloks gebaut wurde, aber über Drehgestelle für den Hauptstreckenbetrieb verfügt. Die MP15DC wurde von 1974 bis 1980 von Electro-Motive (EMD) gebaut und ist eine Lokomotive mit vier Achsen (B-B) und 1500 PS (1119 kW), die von einem EMD-Motor der Reihe 645 mit 12 Zylindern und einem Gleichstromgenerator angetrieben wird. Insgesamt wurden 351 MP15 gebaut.

bei meinen letzten Käufen hätten Handbücher laut der Bestellseite immer dabei sein sollen. Sind aber nicht dabei gewesen. Mir fehlen einige um mit diesen Lokos wirklich umgehen zu können

MP15DC is a true marvel. It's unusual in shape. it's different depending on whether you drive it forward or backwards, it has a nice sound and simple controls. The very process of disassembling trains to single cars and putting them back together is somewhat engaging and even educational in a way.

This is the second loco (on par with MP36 Baby Bullet) that can save hopeless Peninsula Corridor until they (maybe) fix the poor bugged F40PH. And it is very good.

Verdict: try it if you already have the Peninsula Corridor DLC, you may like it.

This is a very fun add-on to play, you can play for a very long time and still have plenty to explore. It is definitely worth the price.

Good model good sounds, but the sounds would be better if this game could handle more than 2 simultaneous sounds. Sounds keep cutting out. And air brake release sounds drive me nuts. I would wait until they fix the sound system before buying this.

Full price, this is not worth it.
The modeling is okay, but nothing special. Scenarios are not particularly prototypical, and the service mode has some issues. All of the sounds are recycled from the RSC SW1500 from 2012 (which only costs $8.99). And i mean all of the sounds, even the god-awful horn.

50% off, it still wouldn't be worth, were it not for a mod on the Train Sim Community website which adds a CSX livery and services for Sand Patch Grade.

50% off + mod? Yes
Otherwise? No.

Debatable if its worth it at 50% discount on sale. The train itself is great, really done well, sound effects when rolling along are the best i've heard with loads of rattling and squeeks. Its different from other locos in many ways. However, thats where the fun ends. You cant actually drive it on more than a handful of Scenarios and a handful of timetables. In terms of the Scenario Designer, you can only use the train itself, with no freight at all, despite most other trains having plenty of cargo pulling options. This makes it pretty pointless purchase as once you have done the handful of timetable items, theres no replay-ability on other lines to be had. Great train, but let down immensely by the lack of Scenario Designer options.

This little switcher adds some fun scenarios to the Caltrain route. They make it enough fun to play. I wish it worked with Raildriver though.

I always love a nice mix of activities on a route. Peninsula Corridor already has passenger services and a limited amount of UP switching and freight . The MP15DC loco add-on adds more shunting and and freight to the scene.

The engine is a nice typical US switcher, but it also drives the mainline. For me it just looks OK. There are no additional wagons or other stuff, so on this side the offer is not to great.

Gameplay is important and at this point this DLC has a lot of variety. You can assembe a special train, drive it and disassemble it back to norman service. There are services hauling track maintenace cargo along the route, with some shunting and main line combined and you need to split and assemble passenger trains for various reasons.

The DLC is a bit older now. If you love the Peninsula Corridor route a lot, it probably is a must have for you. If you are wise, wait for a sale and buy it together with the Baby Bullet. Discounts are now round 40%, so you may expect the 50% discount somewhere near the end of 2021.

Please be aware you need the Peninsula Corridor DLC to be able to do anything with this DLC. Also note it is preserved collection and does not yet support the livery editor.

You also need to be aware that I experienced serious issues with the save function for Penisula Corridor. For this reason I do not recommend Peninsula Corridor at the moment. For this DLC most activities are far shorter and you need less saving.

Excellent locomotive for the for the Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco San Jose route picked it up in a sale 4 months after release wish I picked it up earlier.
Adds 15 new timetabled services to the route and three scenarios.

This DLC adds much more stuff to do in the Peninsula Corridor add-on such as shunting passenger trains, retrieving broken down trains, Maintainence of Way trains, etc.

for those who are debating getting this for TSW2:

-decent engine sounds for something made by DTG
-bloom on the SFJ route will blind you if play anything between 7am and 7pm
-services and stuff are very fun
-has switching and road gear which can be fun
-driver's position is pretty ideal unlike most preserved collection stuff
-no cupholders
-has two folding seats which is cool

It's good if you already have SFJ, I recommend securing it if it's on sale for like $10 or under. I cannot justify full price ($20) for something with around 10 services on the time table.
