Hey Train Mechanics!
We're excited to bring you the latest updates on the development of Train Mechanic Simulator 2024. A lot has happened since last update. The first batch of optimizations has arrived, and the development focus is now shifting towards completing all gameplay elements. We're working on mission scenarios, workstations for processing mechanical parts, dynamic task lists and more. The highlight system for attaching and detaching parts has been updated and workstations for processing parts have a new, more intuitive interface.

Time of day
We have completed work on day and night transitions, added night lighting to the yard and a panel to control time of day in the game. If you're into it, steam locomotive has a full set of switches, allowing you to set up lights in many different ways.
Driving locomotives
Steam locomotive simulation is now connected to cabin controls and gauges. Once you finish your work on the steam locomotive, you can fire it up and seamlessly drive it out of the workshop or just tow it with a shunting locomotive if you prefer. You can perform a test drive, completing the checklist given by your customer, if you wish to earn some bonus for an assignment. A new dynamic help system will show you, step by step, how to operate a steam locomotive. It can also perform all the steps for you if you want to skip them and drive immediately.
Working on content
We are constantly updating our models and environment. We have new models for shunting locomotive, winch, fences and roads. We are also organizing space inside the workshop to create working areas for cranes and for processing mechanical parts. There is also a new, fully functional coal loader for locomotive refueling, so you can add coal to your list of expenses.
