????The Tiny Bang Story????

kleines Puzzle Point and Click Adventure April 2011 erschienen.

I had to force myself through the tail end of this one, and the only reason I completed it was a mix of having nothing to do and the game's shortness.

What you're even supposed to be doing is incredibly unclear, and I still can't even remember. You basically go between a series of static pictures, clicking on everything trying to figure out how to progress. You'll then discover that some PART of the thing you had clicked on earlier is also clickable, and now you're off to the next one.

A brain-aching concoction of point-and-click puzzle and hidden-object genres, The Tiny Bang Story invites you to save its post-apocalypse surreal world with clickity-clickety-clicks, clicks, clicks, and clicks (I have to admit that in the late game I just went clicking like mad, no brain).

You will be asked to find designated objects strewn all over the places and, upon having found them all, the puzzle minigame will be unlocked. I love that hidden-object aspect of the game, but the puzzles were quite... various and enjoyable. Okay. But there are some puzzles which you probably won't know what to do with it actually. Many you can experiment and will finally figure it out. But what if you can't? And since this game suffers the serious lack of clue (and we players, with it), you will be forced to resort to view the puzzle solution. And with no explanation whatsoever still. Also, there was this specific one in which the game control was the worst I did wonder how they could release the game without fixing it, and not even an update to solve the issue. And that color-coded world map puzzle. Vexed and bordering on despair, yet too obstinate to yield and view the solution, I just randomly clicked it until it solved itself. Pretty funny when you put it that way. But, yeah, some puzzles were simply too much and did offset all the fun, the amount of which was not that great in the first place.

Sadly, I cannot recommend the game. It looks like a fun puzzle game to relax and enjoy, but the game has multiple issues where puzzles do not work. I went to a guide to see what I was doing wrong, only minutes in the game, and found it is touch and go if the game works on your system. My guess, it is dated and no longer working well on newer systems.

Just as well, when you go to full screen, you get only a corner of the game showing on the top left of the screen. The game in windowed cannot have the resolution changed. There are not really much in the way of options. Additionally, the mouse clicks do not always register precisely. This led me to check if I had something setup wrong, and found this is a common issue.

In short, the game might be problematic on newer computers. As such, I cannot recommend it as I cannot get past the game breaking issues.

I want to like this game. i actually remember playing a demo of it a long time ago and enjoying it, but the full version falls flat.

My main complaints are:
1) The size of the game window. It's super small for a hidden object game. If you try to put the game into fullscreen mode, there's a good chance your cursor will disappear. I ended up having to use Magnifier just to play the game.
2) Some of the puzzles are a bit too long. No one wants to play Simon Says 10 times in a row.
3) Hint button is mostly useless. I got stuck in Chapter 2 and tried the hint, but it wouldn't show me what I needed to do. I ended up having to look at the walkthrough to find out I hadn't opened a window because the hint would not give me any indication of where the last ball was.
4) No minigame skip. Some of the minigames are next to impossible to complete and there's no way to skip them. You just have to sit there and try and try and try until you either win or quit the game.

SInce the game doesn't have any Steam achievements and I spent less than a dollar on this game... I'm going too give up and uninstall it. I won't even bother with a refund.

** Review of the Linux version **

The Tiny Bang Story is a charming little puzzle game. Is has a mix of logic puzzles, plain puzzles and search the hidden items in the scenarios. The art is beautiful, as is the music. It is easy to recommend this when on sale. It runs well on Linux too. It lasts for a few hours unless you get stuck. It has a built-in tip system that you can unlock with patience every time you feel stuck.

Point & click is generally a turn off for me but this was amusing, the puzzles were interesting enough to keep me going, the story was neat, the art style is well drawn, and the music was super peaceful. Honestly I could use the soundtrack just to zone out. Not a bad little game for the price!

Cute and colorful, but seems that it could have been much more intuitive.
Searching for items is sometimes tedious, and clicking randomly sometimes gets the job done. Some of the puzzles make no sense for why they are what they are. I had to consult guides for completing several of the finding parts puzzles, as well as code puzzles. The number puzzle in the first part made no sense for why the code was what it was. I saw the parts that gave the information, but it had no obvious reasoning for why the numbers were the ones they were.

Tiny Bang Story is a beautifully illustrated point-and-click hidden object game with a chill soundtrack and relaxing atmosphere.

The world has been broken into jigsaw pieces and its your job to collect them all as your journey between set pieces, solving puzzles and finding hidden objects in order to progress. Some puzzles vary in difficulty but none pose a horrendously difficult challenge; though I did get stuck once or twice trying to find that last elusive jigsaw piece in a level or two.

If you want a relaxing hidden object game with some gorgeous hand drawn artwork and an ambient soundtrack, give Tiny Bang Story a go.

Got this game in a bundle. It is a fun, short games with kind of a nice, unique art style.

Pros:
+ Beautiful
+ Interactive
+ Very interesting puzzles
+ Love the hint mechanic

Cons:
- Somehow my cursor got a black box around it when I tried the game without fullscreen
- The hints for some puzzles are sometimes not much instructive
- The indicator still shows I missed some puzzle pieces although I already collected them all. I had to check the Internet to prove that I got them all.

Conclusion: Despite the little bugs, it is still functioning, fun games. Definitely worth the money!

Everytime I play this game, I remember my mom and I. She helped me distinguishing the green colors, because I'm a red-green colorblind, so it was hard for me to complete those levels. Unfortunately, she passed away in December 2018 as a result of her cancer, but it's always a good feeling playing this game again and being able to remember those good old memories.

I'll recommend this game to the players who love puzzles.

There are 5 chapters in the game, and the gameplay length of each chapter is moderate. As a small decryption game for not costing so much after a discount, it is excellent.

The theme is to collect and decrypt the puzzles of the tiny planet in the form of puzzles. After the puzzles are completed, I feel very fulfilled. The gameplay of the decryption type is similar to most other puzzle games, basically it is to collect props to decrypt and pass the level.

Excellent decryption games will substitute the game's storyline in the game. You can know the origin of all the stories after you finish the game. This is the lack of this game. There are only five chapters, and the collected decryption elements are not much different.

Some of these mini games are quite interesting. If you want to get a hint, catch the mosquitoes. But there is nothing too dazzling. After playing high-quality works, you'll feel the difference in this type of games.

PROS:
Picture: The art style of this work is colored lead and hand-painted style, and the scene design is also very childlike, it should be said that it is a very healing style.
Music: Very fresh style, BGM download is available on the official website, you can download it yourself if you like it.
Appropriate collection of elements, if you collect full puzzles, there will be small surprise after finishing the game.

CONS:
Puzzle solving: most of the puzzles are simple and easy. Hidden items are not easy to find, which makes me nearly blind, haha!
The game process can be regarded as the standard clearance time of the mini indie games, about 2-3 hrs. Also the plot is slightly short and very cryptic.

No, as a puzzle fan I don't recommend this to anyone. It looks, sounds nicely at first, but the puzzles going from calmly finding to straight trial & errors with brute-force clicking to the point of being tedious to play.

The first issue is the big picture pieces where some are cheaply placed as small sizes, and you already have to stress your eyes looking at small window of the game (no widescreen support or actually fullscreen at all). And for normal items to find, some could be placed in the same way, even worse when there are similar items yet clicking on them not counted.

The second one is the mini-games where a few are straight no clues to solve at all - for instance the water pipe, do the cranks stop or lead the flow of water? There is no telling because there is no animation! Even the hint ? guide further confuses you more; or the sudoku-like but ended up nowhere like sudoku and you can just guess the last 2 numbers instead. In addition, boring arcade mini-games.

The third one is not having checkpoint, once you are ready to advance the game just moves you to the next level regardless of you having not completed collecting the big picture pieces, and there is no turning back but fresh new game. By that point you would end up not being able to finish the big picture, but it turned out you still gather them in full anyway, thus makes collecting the pieces pointless.

Other than that, music turns dull quick, few imprecise control, glitch where clicking on humans after first time will now show you bubble hint unless you switch area and come back, and you cannot freely choose to replay any level but either start from scratch (which should be lengthy to reach the point you need) or just pick any of mini-games at the end.

Final score: 5/10 Mediocre.

my childhood was full of these,I grew up with games like this,it even has old resolution too. it has everything I liked on those childhood games: good ambient music, nice art, colorful environment, hidden things in nonsensible and idiotic places that you find very last after looking for it for 10 minutes, while examining every pixel of screen.I just love this sort of games. it brings me happiness

Good for the price, with really nice artwork. There are however, some action mini-games that require careful timing and can't be skipped. So that prevents some people from progressing. Not worth buying if you can't get through the mini-games. I didn't find them too bad but they weren't fun either. The rest is ok, though some puzzles require trial and error to determine what combination is the desired endpoint. Some of its kind of random, though none of the puzzles are too terribly difficult. I ended up using a walkthrough for some of the hidden object elements and to avoid the trial and error of having to find out what was expected, but not for the actual sequences needed to solve the puzzle. The exception was the compass puzzle, which was honestly terrible. If you get to it just turn the compass 3 times counter-clockwise and save yourself a headache. Puzzle-wise it's not really equal to Machinarium but it is good overall, a nice game to relax with, mostly.

Surely the most relaxing computer game I have ever played, with beautiful graphics and music and puzzles/hidden-objects-search of just right level of difficulty - just to tease your brain but not tire it too much after another day of solving much more difficult problems on a computer (I am computational mathematician). Also, one of the very few games I play again and again (others being Sam and Max season 1 and 2, Hector and Puzzle Agent), each time surprised how good the game is and never getting bored with solving the same puzzles, viewing the same views and listening to the same music. A real masterpiece.

The Tiny Bang Story Review
Hours of fun in this relaxing brainteasing adventure.

Some key points that this game offers:
1. A charming fantasy world to get lost in.
2. Many challenging puzzles to test your wit.
3. Various nooks and crannies to search and explore.

Gameplay & Controls:
The game is solely controlled with the mouse as a point and click game. You will navigate this world very easily with the mouse and there is no limit to the amount of clicks you can use which is nifty if you are a novice at this type of game.
The gameplay is fairly straightforward. You are in a miniature fantasy world and need to collect and find certain objects to complete the given puzzles as you navigate to the next area with puzzle pieces being strewn across each area which you will need to collect to complete the final picture.

Graphics:
The graphics are beautifully done and resemble illustrations in a storybook. Colibri games really went all out to create this whimsical little world with realistic aspects such as tassels that move when you run your mouse across them and hatches that open and close as they would in reality.
The weather resembles a beautiful sunny day, you can almost feel the warmth of the sun on you as you move from area to area.

Sounds:
The music is soft and whimsical, though repetitive you won’t get sick of it playing softly in the background.
As for the sounds they are cute and not overpowering. Each character has their own sound even though they don’t actually have lines they are more like interjections or exclamations but each one suits their respective character, another well thought out mechanic by the developer

Replayability:
The game might not offer much in terms of replayability, but as one has come to expect from these types of games, they can be replayed numerous times at your own leisure. That is what they were made for.
Casual fun that does not always require a lot of effort.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:
An absolute must play for the point and click or hidden object fans. Although a relatively short game, you will enjoy every moment spent on it; searching for lost things, solving puzzles, and generally just enjoying this absolutely beautiful Tiny World.

This game suits you if you just want to relax your brain after a long day and looking for some casual fun. The puzzles are challenging to various degrees but none are too difficult.

At the end of the day, this genre of games is mostly for casual gamers that love this type of game, and then some gamers who enjoy casual time killers that doesn’t require too much effort. This is what we have here in ample quality supply.

The Tiny Bang Story unlocks its array of logic puzzles and beautifully drawn hidden-object discoveries with an explosion of jigsaw-friendly relaxation.

WHAT I LIKED:
+ Over 20 different types of objects to find in the gorgeously designed backdrops, from over 100 jigsaw pieces to useful tools, which will help you progress.
+ 20 different mini-puzzles to challenge your logic solving capabilities, ranging from code-breaking sequences to complex tangrams.
+ Soothing score to relax the mind whilst you focus on the images in search of various objects.
+ Multi-profile saves, allowing every family member/friend to give this game a go.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- The retro-inspired 2D side-scrolling minigames were tedious and slow. No checkpoints, meaning if you accidentally click one movement button too much, you have to start the 2-3 minute sequence over again.
- Too short (but oh so sweet!). With only 5 chapters, the game can be fully completed in less than 2 hours. The majority of hidden-objects were noticeable, meaning you could easily tackle each chapter in 20 minutes.
- The hint system is somewhat buggy (no pun intended considering one must collect mosquitoes to generate a hint...) and provides little to no help when activated.

VERDICT:
6/10 jigsaw pieces, now go and find them...

Thoroughly enjoyable. There's no instructions on how to play or any obvious hand holding to get you through it. You have to learn how to play and that's part of the enjoyment. The only hints available are also made fun and not made instantly available, so you're less inclined to use them. The artwork is excellent and the whole thing put a smile on my face. My only complaint would be the end... you'll see what I mean.

Its extremely small of a game. while seemingly relaxing for the most part, a couple puzzles were overly complicated. Its not that I completely disliked the game. I just, Idk, its not that great, visually lovely tho. but the hit boxes to grab some things to rearrange them was driving me mad.

This is a fun, unique point-and-click puzzle/ hidden-object game. The game play, art, and music reminded me of the popular Machinarium, only the game is half as long in comparison. The puzzles were challenging and the hidden objects were hard to find. Additionally, the art was quirky and the music was strangely calming. I recommend this game if you're a fan of the Amanita franchise.

The moment I started playing The Tiny Bang Story, I immediately thought of Amanita Design’s games, such as the Samorost trilogy, Machinarium, Botanicula, and Chuchel. It’s hard not to compare this game to those by Amanita Design, and to conclude that TTBS could have been better.

That’s not to say that TTBS is a horrible game. It’s not, but it’s mediocre at best and uninteresting at worst. TTBS is a hidden object game, with the overall goal of collecting and reassembling all hidden jigsaw puzzle pieces to rebuild Tiny Planet. All the while, you’d need to solve a variety of other puzzles, for which you’d also need to find the hidden items. Thus, if you love hidden object games, you may find TTBS more tolerable, if not appealing.

Yet, that is all there is to TTBS. Throughout its 5 chapters, you find items, use the items to solve puzzles, reassemble the big jigsaw puzzle bit by bit, and move on to the next chapter. I was starting to get bored by the third chapter, after realizing that nothing amazing is ever going to happen. Aside from some swaying foliage, fluttering insects, and a few briefly-moving key objects, the world of Tiny Planet is pretty static. Even the residents you’d help along the way seem unmoved (ha!) by the disaster that had struck their world.

But, what about the puzzles? Not surprisingly, it’s the usual mixed bag of puzzles that involve swapping tiles, shifting marbles (I hate those), finding the correct number combinations, connecting pipes, completing arcade games, etc. I personally find it annoying when modern puzzle/adventure games do not incorporate puzzles organically, especially when they feature fantasy worlds like the one in TTBS. Given the creative freedom that an imaginary world affords, it just seems lazy for the developers to simply shove all these puzzles in front of you as obstacles.

At one point during the game, I accidentally moved on to the next chapter without finding all hidden jigsaw puzzle pieces there. I thought I’d need to replay that part of the game. Yet (thankfully and mercifully?), I didn’t have to. The missing two pieces were given to me in the final jigsaw puzzle assembly. That led to think whether or not finding the jigsaw puzzle pieces is obligatory in each game chapter. If not, this makes the game more pointless and frustrating.

Still, I did enjoy the beautiful artwork by Eduard Harutyunyan, and the soundtrack by Strategic Music. Their work complement each other well, making me wish that TTBS has a little something more (e.g. a simple story) to make the overall package more cohesive and meaningful. If you enjoy hidden object games, you may enjoy TTBS. Otherwise, I think you may have a better time playing the Amanita Design games.

Nice short game, played it together with my 5 year old son (:
The artwork is very well done and pulls you into the atmosphere.
The puzzles were a mixture of logic minigames and hidden objects.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience.
Recommended (:

This is a very nice game based on finding hidden objects and solving puzzles. The atmosphere is very nice and the graphics and interface are well done. The game itself is quite hard though with hard to find objects and difficult puzzles.

Overall it's a quite nice change of pace from all the other hidden object games out there.

It is a hidden object game with some light puzzles. Looks alright. But I'm giving it a thumbs down, because technical issues and sketchy approach to art (no pun intended).

I played this game in the past on a different platform, didn't have issues. But playing it now on Steam I ran into game breaking bug. There was some silly crashing for me as well, but I found a solution on Steam forums, turns out at some point the game would crash if the sound is turned off. Should've been fixed by now, but it's not. Regarding the game breaking bug, looks like it might happen to anyone due to the way the game counts objects you need to find. It is possible to collect something, but the counter will not increase and you'll be effectively locked out of the progress further. No chapter replay or reset is provided, so the only way to dealing with such bug is replaying from the very beginning.

And as for the art, apparently the game artist is quite frivolous with using other artists' works as references, and basically steals parts of their pieces.

Overall it feels like an attempt to cash in on Machinarium audience with somewhat dumbed down gameplay (hidden object instead of point-and-click adventure, although it still has mini-puzzles and mini-games). A fairly successful attempt at the time, I assume, despite the questionable choices of the artist. But a dated attempt as of today, mainly because of unaddressed technical issues.
