Ein echtes Affentheater
Wenn du einen Bauarbeiter, einen Holzfäller oder sogar einen Soldaten brauchst: Die Affen auf der Insel können gezähmt und ausgebildet werden, um dir bei den täglichen Aufgaben oder Angriffen auf gegnerische Lager zu helfen! Das Nachahmer-System bietet eine Reihe von Funktionen, die von deinen bananenaffinen Freunden erfüllt werden können. Affenverwaltung ist wichtig, wenn du die Herausforderungen der Insel überleben willst.
Die Axt auf der Insel erspart den Zimmermann
Nur wenn du lernst, die Ressourcen um dich herum zu nutzen, kannst du überleben. Ob du jetzt eine primitive Axt zusammenzimmerst, um Holz zu hacken oder dir einen erfrischenden Fruchtsmoothie mixt, um dem Hunger Herr zu werden; du entdeckst mit Sicherheit reichlich Rezepte, mit denen sich deine Möglichkeiten in Sachen Essen, Gegenstände und Gebäude schnell erweitern.
Ein echter Spießrutenlauf
Du willst ein episches Schwert an die Wand deiner Hütte hängen oder den heranstürmenden Fieslingen zeigen, was eine Harke ist? Vielleicht findest du ja in einem der auf der Insel verteilten Tempel genau das Richtige dafür. Aber es wird nicht leicht, die Beute in die Finger zu kriegen, also musst du dich gut vorbereiten, du Schatzjäger.

Der Crafting Aspekt ist das Highlight von dem Titel. Viele verschieden Gegenstände wollen von dem Gestrandeten gebaut werden, damit das Inselleben erträglich wird. Auch ist der ständige Hunger nicht so schlimm wie es sich zu beginn anhört. Da die Lebensmittel nicht verrotten können, kann man sich ein großes Lager aufbauen.
Negativ bleibt zu erwähnen, dass sich das Crafting öfters auch selber im Weg steht. Möchte man mehrere Gegenstände gleichzeitig erstellen, kann man das über Umwege realisieren. Auch wird es bei mehreren Affen oft schnell unübersichtlich, wenn man einem bestimmten etwas beibringen will.
Alles in allem bleibt The Survivalists ein schön gestaltetes Survival Spiel mit einer enormen Lernkurve. Die verschiedenen Biome sind hübsch anzuschauen und eine Langzeitmotivation ist durch die unterschiedlichen generierten Welten definitiv gegeben.

aber Sowohl auf der Switch und auf dem pc Lädt das spiel nicht mehr seit ich den ersten vergrabenen Schatz ausgegraben habe. dieser lies sich auch nicht öffnen ich hoffe auf ein schnelles Update

Nach meiner bisherigen Spielzeit habe ich noch nicht alles gesehen bzw. alles abgearbeitet. Ich hab auch erst 2 Affen. Da muss ich den schlechten Bewertungen auch widersprechen. In dem Spiel gehts nicht ums durchrushen, man kann sich Zeit lassen. Für ungeduldige Shooterfutzis ists also nichts.
Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Nach 13 Stunden Spielzeit hab ich zwar die Flucht aus dem Inselparadies noch nicht geschafft, jedoch wird das was man macht bereits sehr schnell repetitiv ohne das man weiteren Fortschritt macht.
Trotzdem gibt es meinerseits einen Daumen nach oben, habe viel Spaß mit dem Spiel gehabt und die Entwicklung läuft ja noch. Würde jedoch jedem anderen Interessenten empfehlen noch zu warten, bis sich da was getan hat.

Affen - sind zu OP, haben bugs in verschiedenen berreichen - Kampf, abstellen von Sachen, ausführen von Sachen. - Wenn ihr mal 10 Affen habt (was ziemlich schnell geht, ca 30min) - GG, die Skillfähigkeiten sind zu schnell erlernt und eure Affen rushen die Tempel durch.
(man kann das game durchpielen ohne jemals selber einen zu killen)
Tempel - zu langweilig, die rätsel kann man garnicht rätsel nennen, kein endboss oder sonstiges, final loot = eine waffe die man eh nicht braucht weil die affen alles killen,
Crafting - viel zu wenig, in 30min schaltet man alle Sachen frei, es spielt sich wie die komplette demo, keine geheimen rezepte oder sonstiges, keine Rüstung- aber bei den Affen halt verständlich das man halt keine braucht *hust, man kann nichts anbauen in einem SURVIVAL
Plünderungen auf die eigene Base - einfach so langweilig, man wird immer von 6-8 orgs angegriffen die an den Fallen sterben die man um die Base gebaut hat,- weil man ja sonst nichts craften kann.
Story - man ist gestrandet und das wars. Ne spaß - es kommt ab und zu der misteriöse TOP SECRET HÄNDLER dem du alles einfach abkaufen kannst, weil du eh viel zu viel geld hast. Man muss diesen Händler nichtmal selber finden, er wird halt einfach auf der Map angezeigt. Die Tagebücher die man findet ließt sich glaub ich kein mensch durch, genauso wie die Schatzkarten die man kauft oder findet - da ist halt nur Standard zeug drinn das man eh selber Craften kann.
Das Spiel hat eine menge potenzial, es spielt sich flüssig - aber ist in dem jetzigen Status einfach keine 30 euro wert. Ja das Spiel ist ab 7 Jahre, aber ich denke man kann 2020 viel mehr auch von diesem alter abverlangen.
Bin auch mega enttäuscht von Team17 weil ich seit Jahren immer gute Erfahrungen hatte wenn ich ein Spiel gekauft habe. Hoffe sie publischen ein Free DLC wo sie die ganzen Sachen nachbringen die mittlerweile schon eigentlich Standart in dem Genre sind.

Die Antwort der Entwickler wahr: nein, Ihr könnt Craften und euch andere Insel ankucken und das für 25 -32€

- 100% completion (in terms of achievements and things to do I guess) in less than 40 hours thanks to the multiplayer system.
- Monkey system is a no-brainer too for these type of grindy games. Might need to get used to it cause sometimes they do have a monkey brain and will do not as you told.
- Good time spent with my girl
Cons:
Game gets dull for the first few hours, there's another guy in his review that I can relate my experience with, he had explained how he never left the 1st island due to no concrete reason to explore because most of the things can be progressed in the 1st island. Game can also get a little bit tedious with the quest, it felt like chores rather than being excited to do it. Also, don't get me started with the combat system. When you obtained a lot of monkeys in the long run, situation will become hectic real fast during combat. The aiming/locking system is a whack, you often hit the air rather than the enemy itself. No serious boss enemy that needs proper planning except for the orc captain that can summon a dozen of orcs minion. That'll grind your gears since you need proper parry to deal with them. No good aiming/locking system = no good parries.

Its not even worth to craft most of the items, including trinkets. I got stuck on the boat and we needed to rollback few hours of progress. All players need to unlock crafting recipes one by one because you cannot share progress. You can finish the game in 10h and all side quests are repetitive and useless. There are some issues with inventory and the only use for monkeys is to make mess in your base. One time I clipped through the boat on the middle of the ocean and died. Only host can access special recipes from quests. Game randomly disconnects other players from time to time. Burn damage and toxic damage is bugged on multiplayer and you receive no damage which makes potions useless. AND MUCH MORE!
3/10 at max.

I'll start with the positives. The gameplay is fun, the graphics are cute and it was interesting to unlock each level of crafting. The game world seems vast and is fun to explore. It felt a lot like a cute version of Valheim. Playing with others is easy and fun and I had no issues being able to easily connect with them.
This game has a lot of potential and for the first 20 hours or so, I could not stop playing, which is why it was so disappointing that the tedium seemed to increase the further along you get into the game. For instance, once you get to sharpened weapons, you have to craft multiple pieces (3-4), each with their own crafting times before you can even repair your weapon, rather than it using just one raw material to decrease the tedium as a lot of games do. If you lack the necessary resources in your inventory for crafting those pieces, you can easily waste an entire in-game day just repairing your weapon.
I appreciate that they tried to decrease the tedium by allowing the monkeys to craft things for you, but that entire process has been implemented poorly and its more of a hassle than it is worth to get them to do anything for you.
The food system is tedious and requires way too many ingredients. I get that it is a survival game, but when you add the lengthy crafting time to the fact that each recipe requires 2-3 of multiple ingredients, it's too much.
I would have loved to recommend this game and at $5-10 I would have. But for me, a game that only gave me 40 or so hours worth of fun just isn't worth $25.

Outside of that? The game is honestly fun. If you intend to play solo, you'll enjoy it. If you intend to play with randos, I'm sure this feature will make it safer. But if you want to play with friends, then choose your host wisely, because they are the only one who will be able to progress fully. Everyone else is just kind of a helper, I guess.
Since I bought it to play cooperatively, I'm very disappointed.

In part of the issues, I could enjoy a game where I can turn my brain off, relax a bit and probably build some cool bases here and there, but the issues can pester you. Sometimes your character will be stuck in animation, or the game won't let you break constructions despite it giving you the notion it's possible for everything, monkeys seem to function well but it can become too bothersome to deal with, mostly because of the commands and UI being dogshit.
Speaking of the UI, 90% of it could be done in a way that's not only more intuitive, but also more accessible. At this moment it's horrid with how they organized UI elements and certain mechanics behind multiple button presses, or having you to hold the same button you use to perform other actions, instead of assign it to another button. It's a waste of space AND time to navigate through the menus. A lot of space is wasted in favor of making everything look big, and in result, menus get compact, as if people have presbyopia while making you scroll a lot.
Also the keyboard mapping is... outright dumb. How is this a 1-year old 2020 game that not only doesn't have controller mapping, but if you change your keyboard mapping, it doesn't really work? I assigned the Cancel action on my G button, yet the F button still acts as Cancel even if I assigned something else to it.
You have a lot of possible keys here and there to use, yet many actions depend in one key, then why have all these actions be separate? I can't even mention anything about controller mapping because it's impossible to change it's mapping, DESPITE the game claiming full controller support.
So yeah, TL;DR this game is a simple survival game that may initially resemble Stardew Valley, but cannot even achieve the good of Stardew Valley, so you might as well not bother with this one.

The art style has a lot of charm and the world is fun to explore.

Boring and grindy rip-off of Dont Starve franchise.
Combat system is a failure, Gameplay is a grind feast of constant wood choping and grass gathering.
And it wouldn't be that bad - especially in SURVIVAL game - if production of any tool or object wasn't that expensive..
Poorly balanced economy of the game in short.
Graphics are cute tho. Reminds me of Graveyard Keeper and similiar productions.
Stamina/Hunger system is basically non existing either, despite being mentioned multiple times in presented materials by developers.
Hugely disappointing game considering publisher is a well known Team17.

That said this game is a hot mess. Progression is poor. Trying to get basalt rock made me pretty upset. Not looking forward to grinding out tokens to get all the trinket blueprints (which you then have to craft) these couldn't have just been rewards outright? Oh yeah, don't accidentally go to the volcano island first like I did you'll get wrecked.
Weapons degrade way too fast and repairs are costly. Add in weapons for a monkey army and you have a bad time all around.
Speaking of monkeys, they are setup in such a way they are basically unusable. Sure you can teach them a skill and they do it forever but this should have been done as follows:
-Teach a monkey to do X
-Monkey learns X and does X
-Monkey then has X as a learned trait that can be assigned in the menu without having to show the little bastard what to do again and again as needs changed
Also renaming monkeys is a terrible joke... whomever programmed that text box should be fired.
Not sure why the player character cannot level up outside of Trinkets. Odd design choice for sure.
Controls are clunky and un-intuitive. More often then not I give a monkey my weapon on accident and when I DO want to give them a weapon they run away before I can. Monkeys surround you so you cannot interact with things. It's just dismal.
I wan't to like this game but it's get some pretty deep seeded issues that get in the way of fun. Maybe one day it'll get there.

One of the most frustrating parts of this game was hands down the tools. They break so fast. Like it's actually stupid. You are constantly repairing your tools just for you to maybe get through half a labyrinth and they are already worn down again. And it doesn't get better with the better tools you craft, especially when it comes to your sword. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to barely get any use out of the tools.
The raids are pointless, if I'm being perfectly honest. You don't get anything special from them. They are the same enemies that you fought on that island before. They are more an annoyance than anything. Not really any point. Same goes for the treasure, the rewards for tracking it down just aren't worth it unless you're dead set on doing them.
We did finish the game and honestly it was just lacking. Like there wasn't any reason to stay and there wasn't any reason to finish. They definitely wanted this game to have replay value but it frankly just doesn't. Just doesn't feel like a complete game. Maybe this will change in the future but we will not be coming back to this game unless major updates are had.

The nice part is the music is enjoyable, it's a pretty pixel game, and it is rather laid back if you aren't wanting something too stressful to play.
It's cool that you get to automate the monkeys for a lot of processes but it kind of sucks if you play cooperative. You can't bring in as many monkeys to help with the automation if you aren't hosting the server.
I honestly, just can't recommend this game right now because I ended up feeling bored after the first few hours. I'm not sure why that is. It might just be because I'm use to survival games more like DST. If you're new to survival games and want a more chill survival game, then you might like The Survivalists.

The monkey automation system makes things move so fast when when you get that hang of ordering them around properly. Keeps any base building, construction, productions tasks keeps things down from being too annoying.
I would like to see an update to chests and inventory to order them by type/amount/etc in the future so as to better visualize what resources I have.
Would recommend to anybody looking for a lighter, fun, survival game.

1) Easy game play. The controls are really simple and easy to master.
2) Sounds and graphics are really good. Very nice art
3) Great concept. There are actual goals to play and follow. You have the opportunity to host your own survivalist and play with your friends. There is more to do once you finish the goals.
I had fun. Certainly worth a second play around. I like the lores and story. I highly recommend buying.

I'm a fan of Team 17, their work in The Escapists and Overcooked is flawless. They missed on this one.
Graphics look really nice and you also have m̴̥̉ò̵̘̦͓̈́̃ņ̶̨̛̏́k̷̰̈́̉ė̶̝̹̩͠ . But unfortunately, it doesn't compensate for the god forsaken hellscape that is the controls/gui. It says controller supported but I'm forced to use my keyboard because it thinks my A button is my B button, but also my B is still my B? Absolute wig waggity. Assuming the UI gets an overhaul, (because it's still in development?) maybe it'll actually be really good.

Refunded after 8 minutes of gameplay where it was 99% me trying to figure controls out. No key re-binding to speak of, even though it was promised in the full release. The controller only worked for movement; Literally EVERY other button was 'cancel'. Keyboard controls make absolutely no sense whatsoever. This is a huge disappointment, as I've enjoyed everything from this company so far. Darn shame, this. Darn shame.

I must say I'm surprised how much things they've actually improved: monkeys, backpack, new structures, raid rework, collect all items around you with space, some new structure mechanics(floor placement), completely new cosmetic structures, weapon repair station, new animals and beasts
And the best thing is they keep updating the game, the farming update for example. I am glad they help the community and keep improving the game, awesome devs. I give 9/10, it's almost worth the price now.

Overall a good game so far, I was hyped before the release and I loved the demo, however I was disappointed by lack of content. The devs are very active tho, friendly, and they're trying their best to make this game awesome. At current state it's not worth the price, buy this while it's at least on 50% discount.
Game itself is good, the concept is cool, it's a nice game to chill to, however it feels too grindy, which made me quit and play something different.
I also find the raids very annoying because sometimes you just aren't prepared. I actually don't know how to categorize this game because it seems like they wanted to make a chill island sandbox experience but then suddenly jumped to tough survival game.
I recommend it, but not for the full price, I'd give it a solid 6/10 for now, maybe it'll get better in the future.

1. Explain more about some of the crafting how to unlock some tiers, and that if friends come to your game and craft something you don’t get the credit.
2. Make it clear that some items you place with the R blueprint mode can never be removed... Looking at YOU multi-purpose pole!
3. When you get K.O.’d (killed by an enemy) if monkeys didn’t have to just wander away from your body in all different directions.. the random wandering is a bit annoying but super funny when it happens to your friends.
4. Maybe add craft-able armor in the game? Not the biggest fan of only getting buffs from food or sleeping.
5. Sometimes when you have a group of more than 5 monkeys, getting them all to stand on the raft is a hassle. At least 2 of them stand near the raft and then assume instead of getting on the raft you meant for them to wander to the two opposite sides of the island.. Making you go collect them later.

There are many bugs, minor ones like simple animations and sound bugs, some annoying bugs, like monkeys not following you even though it says they are, and also weird bugs like unbreakable chests that just hang around and furnaces that never run out. The monkey concept is very nice but there should definitely be more features added to them, the combat and AI of the monkeys need to be adjusted. Example: Monkeys that hold weapons just aggro directly onto hostile animals and it can get annoying when you have an 8 man monkey squad and while walking one suddenly aggros on to a pig and gets knocked out and then everyone else follows, its tedious to un-equip every monkey and re-equip them or just fight every single animal you come across. Survivalists is originally an xbox game (If i remember correctly) and you will notice that you can't rotate things in the game which very slightly makes some of the building look triggering. get ready to mash space a lot since you pick up things one at a time and they only stack when you drop them all together since there is no auto stacking mechanic when things are nearby (this is sad most especially for when you make monkeys craft a ton of items). trading and currency system feels lacking, (selling is pretty sad). It is really repetative and is still lacking in content to make the game more interesting (lore is the only story mechanic you have and trying to leave).
Now are these things super bad? well not really, honestly I can cope with them they are just really annoying, don't get me wrong I still enjoyed my time playing but for its price I really think there should be more quality of life updates and bug fixing especially since it is out of early access.

That's the game in a nutshell. More effort and work than fun. Prepare to spend a lot of time managing your all-too-small inventory - and dying. You'll die a lot.

This game is absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, NOT worth the price. I have played games that have cost less and have significantly more content. You could literally play the demo and experience the majority of the game.
I see reviews on here about how thats simply not true. That theres more content in the full game than there is in the demo. Yes, that's true. But not that much more. When you play the demo, you can actually see the crafting tree, most of which is locked. That is exactly what is available in the full game. There is no hidden crafts, there is no unlockable crafts. All of those little squares you see in the demo is what you get. Thats it.
The monkeys. They're cute and I love them, but they are absolutely useless. They are annoyingly to train and can literally only do one thing at a time. Each time you want it to do something else, you have to retrain it. Even if its learned it before. Combat wise, its fine to have the monkeys around, but you really, really, really don't need them. In fact, my friends and I did a dungeon or whatever and the monkeys got stuck somewhere. We literally just abandoned them there because there was no need for them to help us with combat and it was too annoying to go and find ALL of the monkeys in our monkey hoard before we moved on.
There are multiple islands, which you'd think would be great, right? Nope. The islands were very meh. Each new island has one or two new things on it - new ore, new terrain or new beasts. We completed the game without ever going into the swamp (I don't even know what the point of it was).
When we finished the game, we realized that you could literally play this game and finish it in a few hours. It only took my group 8 hours because we took forever figuring out what was going on on the starter island. We got to the second island, set up camp then realized there was literally no point to set up camp. We blew through the rest of the islands by just going to them, running to the dungeon thing and then leaving.
I will not be buying any more of their games in the future, especially not on release.
TL;DR I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Everyone one of my friends who played this game ended up disappointed at having spent so much money on a game that wasn't worth it. If you are typically a casual gamer or like games that are simple and cute, maybe get this game on sale.

The monkey interface and AI makes the game very difficult. Without any armor options, the only way to deal with stronger creatures is to spam monkeys. But getting around islands with a train of monkeys is impossible because they will just run up and stare at hostile mobs. I've spent the last hour working with my wife to try and get a baggage train of monkeys and it's just a constant cycle of rescuing monkeys, dying, gathering monkeys, regathering chests, etc.
It's not fun. The game has all the features of a game, it's just not fun because the mechanics and design decisions have made it that way.
Edit: Ah, it's even worse now. Because purple chests and character inventories are persistent, our decision to reload our last save to try and recover our losses just screwed things even worse. Just another nonsensical design decision.

Just play the demo game and you have played 95% of the whole game.
I would expect this game to be a $3.99 mobile app game for how much content and quality it has.
Very disappointed in Team17, won't be looking at any of their future game releases.

There are definitely a few bugs that pop up, and you can blow through the game if you have an idea of how things work in it already. But that doesn't mean there's too much lack of content. It really just depends on the person!
And they plan on releasing more good stuff into the game!

As a player i had the feeling, here is the game, play it. Had no clue what to do or how to do it.
Multiplayers biggest problem is that everyone has to build everything to forward in your own blueprint-skill-tree.
