Am Anfang wirkt es, als wäre man bald durch und gibt nicht so viele Möglichkeiten, aber die gibt es! Sogar beim Neustart nochmal komplett was anderes erlebt als beim ersten Mal. Einige Erfolge sind auch echt tricky.
Absolute Kaufempfehlung, sehr gutes Spiel.

Ich würde mir das Spiel jedoch kaufen, wenn es gerade im Sale ist. Denn für 12 Euro hat man eine ziemlich kurze Spielzeit. Wenn man jetzt von diversen Errungenschaften absieht. :)

If you've played that mod, I can save you some time. TSP is broader, denser, smarter, funnier, darker. It's a wonderfully twisted maze of consequence, packed with jokes and surreal flourishes. 90%

If You Spend Time on Your Computer, this Vintage Game is a Must-Have. No Install.Forge of Empires - Free Online Game
Through Stanley's first-person perspective, you follow the narrator's instructions. When he says that Stanley leaves his office, you leave the office. When he says that Stanley walks through the empty corridors, you walk through the empty corridors. When he says that Stanley heads through the left door, you... ah. There are two doors, and you're not Stanley. You're you, with all the free will and sense of rebellion that implies. So what do you do?
Whatever you choose, TPS branches, and branches, and branches again. At each of the game's many intersections, you can follow the narrator's instruction or ignore it and face the consequences of your petty resistance. Each combination of choices leads to something unique. Some of these 'endings' are lighthearted, some are absurd, some are unnerving, most are self-referential, and many centre around the narrator's attempts to get back to his story.
There are a few reasons it works so well, the most obvious of which is the narrator's character. At times, he feels like an antagonist, but really he's narrative design personified. He's as trapped by your chaotic whim as you are by his retribution. Depending on the path you're walking, he can be grandiose, affectionate, cold, impassioned, pleading, and, more often than not, wearied.
Backing up his versatile performance is the level design, which acts as the third, equally petulant character. Moment to moment interactions with the game are light - mostly walking and pressing an occasional button. But TSP feels more engaging than other first-person ambulators (like Dear Esther or Proteus) in the way that it's constantly challenging players to find ways of reinforcing their agency over the game.
In response to these actions the map can warp, glitch and double back on itself, load into something new, or restart into a false opening. Every loading screen elicits a spark of anticipation, because it feels as if anything could be on the other side of that transition.
There are pacing issues, but they're inherent to the illusory freedom. The more subtle endings can fall flat if experienced directly after the most shocking and bizarre. More ironically, this game about game endings doesn't have one of its own. Having run through my internal checklist of possible paths, I'm now left poking around for possible secrets. And so The Stanley Parable ends on a whimper, but to have it any other way would spoil the frequent bangs along the way.
Long live The Stanley Parable!

This game is well thought out, entertaining, and has tons of replayability. I played the original mod, and this is a fantastically polished version of that mod. Choices always feel rewarding, and the narrator has this fantastically polite and elegant way of very politely describing how you're a dolt, it's hilarious.

You embody a lovely character named Stanley and who works every day without asking himself any question. Until that day... 'The Stanley Parable' is kind of a funny, relevant, deep, creative, mysterious, frustrating and destabilizing game all at once. The narrator will sometimes make you get stuck for long minutes, and the proposed environment will sometimes seem very narrow. But that is the point, because this game puts everything it has on the scenario. It is full or original endings, discreet easter eggs, hilarious lines and philosophical puns. Get ready because 'The Stanley Parable' will do everything to make you feel uncomfortable.
Can't wait for the 'ultra deluxe' version promised back in 2018.
It remains an overpriced game but worth it during sales.

back then, there werent any concepts such as a ''surreal game'' or a ''liminal space/liminal game'', so you can imagine what a pioneer ''the stanley parable'' was on that department.
Anyway, i got this game on early 2017 on a sale, and i said to myself: ''i hope that this game will be a good adventure''.
and oh boy was i right.
it was a great and interesting adventure, full of bizarre moments, of surreal elements and of scenes both normal, funny, quirky and (sometimes) a bit upsetting. (in an uncanny valley kind-of-way, not in a scary/bad way)
So, as you can guess by now, i fell in love with this game, and with any other game of this type, as i loved playing surreal games and this game IS the archetype and THE definition of a surreal, unique game.
To this day, if i will look at a game that will be categorized as ''like this game'' (aka=recommended to me if i liked the stanley parable), then i will seriously consider getting it.
When i first played this game, it was relatively new, and the genre wasnt as popular or as well defined as it is now...
Now, this game is 8+ years old and its a staple classic among all the surreal, weird, or simply unique ''walking simulators'' out there.
i think that only the new ''superliminal'' game can reach the grandeur of this game, and even then, its not as comedic or wild as this one... (and i love superliminal, its another spectacular game that messes with the concepts of physics and logic, in very interesting ways)
This game has good humour, many multiple choices and paths to follow and some crazy, crazy achievements to earn...
Also the narrator's voice acting and script is amazing, i just love how the narrator scolds or rewards you according to your playstyle, its very clever and funny to see...
So, in conclusion, this game is great, and if you want to play a surreal game that is the best of the best in both interactivity, humour and action, this is the game to play.

What is it about? It is to certain degree a meta-commentary about games in general but also about decision making and how narratives can be adopted. The game mechanics overall are simple, it is what seems to is called a “walking simulator”.
You walk around as Stanley, expiring the game from a first-person perspective and explore your surroundings that are predominantly offices rooms and hidden layers of the building your work in.
What makes the Stanley Parable outstanding is on the one hand the Narrator, that is excellently spoken and played as a character, and on the other hand the different choices you can make and how they change the path of the game and indeed the hole experience overall. The fun lies where you do not act as the narrator foretells and how he then reacts and tries to set the story straight again. There are some reviews that criticize the fact that to see all pathways and endings you have start again over and over, but this was something that did not bother me personally to much.
The Stanley Parable surely is a very philosophical game or comment on games, so therefore it for sure might not be for everyone. But if you are open to a new kind of experience you should give it a try if it is offered on sale.

The Stanley Parable is a marvelous story of philosophy hidden in the guise of a funny and witty walking simulator. I paid full price for the thing and while I'm sort of on the fence about it now, I still think it was worth my purchase. But, I wouldn't ask my friends to drop 15 dollars on what is more movie than game. That's really the point of the Stanley Parable in a way, but I won't detract your experience should you choose to play this game by telling you what I think it's about. It's a thing best enjoyed first before debate.
I would get this on sale, when it's far far less money. Unless of course you already enjoy the Devs other works and you have 15 spare dollars floating around, in which case, go ahead and support them.

Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was Employee #427.
Employee #427's job was simple: he sat at his desk in Room 427 and he pushed buttons on a keyboard.
Orders came to him through a monitor on his desk telling him what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order.
This is what Employee #427 did every day of every month of every year, and although others may have considered it soul rending,
Stanley relished every moment that the orders came in, as though he had been made exactly for this job.
And Stanley was happy.
And then one day, something very peculiar happened.
Something that would forever change Stanley;
Something he would never quite forget.
He had been at his desk for nearly an hour when he had realized not one single order had arrived on the monitor for him to follow.
No one had shown up to give him instructions, call a meeting, or even say 'hi'. Never in all his years at the company had this happened, this complete isolation.
Something was very clearly wrong. Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found himself unable to move for the longest time.
But as he came to his wits and regained his senses, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office.

Excellent production
The Stanley Parable is a very unusual game. In the game we play the role of an office worker who wakes up and sees that the office he works in is empty. The narrator wants to help us in this difficult situation, who tries to lead us to the next rooms. And this is where the fun begins...
Because we don't have to listen to him, which gives us the freedom to play. Even though the game has no open world, we can get out of the way in many situations. Of course, we will still be accompanied by a narrator who tries to take us to where he wanted us to go before, but still it's up to us what we do.
Despite the lack of an open world, the game gives us a lot of opportunities, which allows us to have about 5 hours of fun. To show that 5 hours is a lot, it's a simple thread where we listen to the narrator can be completed in less than 5 minutes (there is even such an achievement). 5 hours with a great narrator is definitely not time wasted.
There's no need to talk about graphics here, in the game, because it's simple, but it doesn't matter much, because it's not the most important. The most important thing is the gameplay itself, listening to the narrator, who gets nervous when we do something not according to his thoughts, the desire to discover new rooms and look for new endings
Summary
The Stanley Parable is a very good game. It is hilarious, interesting and addictive. Of course you can't say that it's a game that matches the biggest titles but you can still have fun with it and I think it's the perfect game for one evening.
✔️Narrator who accompanies us and reacts to our decisions
✔️Gameplay
✔️Few endings
✔️The game is funny
❌Too expensive
❌It may be too short for some players

Factor | Rating |
---|---|
Gameplay | 3 (Well, there isn't much to do, is there? Of course, this is a different kind of game which buys it points in other sections but here the lack of gameplay gotta be acknowledged.) |
Narrative | 10 (Such a unique way of storytelling in a video game, and this is something that could've only been done in a video game. The satire and snarkiness thrown at other games, the player and life, in general, is pretty funny - and finding new iterations and endings is very rewarding as well.) |
Visuals | 6 (Good visuals. They get done what they need to. The simulation of Portal and Minecraft was pretty spot on as well.) |
Content | 7 (This is a little tricky to decide. There are so many kinds of endings, yet the amount of time to see all the game has to offer isn't too high either. But it definitely deserves an 7 for so many endings and mini-iterations within the game.) |
Mechanics | 6 (Nothing much to complain here. Pretty good. Trying to climb on surfaces was a little awkward, and yeah, it was required for one of the endings - probably more IDK about. Would've been great if I could jump too.) |
Challenge | 6 (The game makes fun of this whole aspect anyway. And while there is no gameplay and challenge involved, the act of finding different ways to do things makes for a very rewarding experience - one that is different from just beating enemies in another game.) |
Diversity | 9 (While a very contained experience, this game factors in player choice and agency more than anything I've seen. Sure, there are bigger games which I would consider better overall, but the sheer amount of diversity in what this game can throw at you is astounding, especially if you play it blind for the first time like I did.) |
Mapping | 6 (Pretty good map design, but it wasn't one of the highlights ofc.) |
Soundtrack | 10 (Gonna give this a 10 for the voice actor alone. He makes or break this game TBH and he pretty much nailed it. I only reserve the 0's and 10's for the WTF and this definitely was really well done.) |
Interface | 5 (Does its job. A lit of how many endings I unlocked would've been pretty good though. Just to let the player know there is definitely more the game has to offer, without showing them the actual way.) |
Pricing | 7 |
Performance | 9 |
Replayability | 9 |
Online/DLC | - |
Personal | 7 (Really good) |
