In short: It's pretty, cute, colorful, relaxed, full of puzzles and collectables, the controls are simple and so is getting the achievements.
Now for the somewhat longer version....
(I know most of you all don't like to read about a book lenght of review so I will keep it short.)
The Last Campfire is a game made so simple in control use that even a child can do it, you simple move around by using WASD, the arrow keys or just by clicking with your mouse on the screen.
What I love about the game is that you don't feel any rush to get something done, you are free to roam around and explore and there are no time limits for anything, but however some collectables to seek out.
The whole experience feels relaxed, the surrounding and music are pretty and puzzles range from very simple to quite complicated but however never impossible.
If you feel like you messed up a puzzle you can simply walk back to the individual you are helping, return to the world and then when you go back in the whole thing is reset.
The puzzles do not have hints however and sometimes it's really just a matter of trying with mistakes and error until you find the right way.
Personally I am one of those people who gets lost in games easily, but I have to say that it was not as much a problem here.
Now the story of this game is as much sad as filled with hope and the willingness to help, the narrators voice is soft and gentle and the story is easy to understand.
Occasionally there is put in a little joke or a deeper understanding of some stuff, but even if you wouldn't catch it, it wouldn't take away from the game it self.
For as far as I have noticed there aren't any bugs or issues with this game which to me is a big plus!
Overall if you are just looking for some brain training and relaxation this will be the game for you!

One of the most beautiful games I've ever played !!!
Graphics, animation and sounds are all very well done.
The narrators soft and gentle voice is perfectly suited to the story.
The story is about the choices in life, so well presented.
Interesting puzzles which can be challenging at times but all are doable with some patience and attention to surrounding areas for clues.
It can be played in 2 modes, Explorer (simpler/fewer puzzles) or Puzzles. All the achievements can be obtained in a single play through in either mode. In the main menu is an option to do 25 puzzles separately. I played as Explorer so the harder puzzles didn't break the story immersion and then did the puzzles afterwards.
Not a game to be rushed, savour the journey. I didn't want it to end.
Amazing !!!

That said, I felt like most of this game was wonderful; magical, even. The narrator is no small part of that, and adds such an incredible warmth and character to the game that I will never again be satisfied by text alone. I do mean that, because the richness that single voice added was really critical to my total satisfaction with the game. The Last Campfire is another shining example that you can still touch player hearts with a simple story told well.
I enjoyed the characters and felt they were memorable across the board. The puzzles were challenging without being hard. That there were no timed elements across the entire game felt very significant; the distinct sensation that the game was patient with me is like nothing I've felt before in a puzzle game. There were no spinning platforms, no fireballs, no puzzle elements that I was not directly in control of, which demonstrated some brave restraint on the part of Hello Games.
If you're looking for a meditative, thoughtful adventure, no need to wait for a sale as $15 is a steal for this memorable experience.

I tried the game both with a controller and keyboard and it felt like the intended way to play the game was with the controller.
The story is about an Ember who is trying to find its way home while helping other lost embers on the way. There is an overarching theme about mental health struggle which is probably relatable to anyone.
There is a good variety of puzzles, both in difficulty and content. I was stuck on some puzzles for up to 15-20 minutes while some I just breezed through.
The visuals are stunning. Some cool character and environment design with lots of variety.
I was unsure what think about the narration at first but it grows on you and becomes quite charming.
Overall an 8/10 experience, would recommend.

There is some dialog with characters but it is not extensive and can be read and clicked through. I found that playing with a controller was easiest for me, although the mouse/keyboard work just as well.
You travel through three major areas (Forest, Marsh, and Cave), each with a central campfire that tracks the number of ' forlorn' embers who are lost in the area. Your first task is to locate them (often solving puzzles to create paths to new areas) and then assisting them by completing a mechanical puzzle. There are about 24 major puzzles to complete and all are easily solved with a bit of logical thinking. There are also handful of fetch quests that play a part in the story.
The game auto-saves on a regular basis and returns you back to your position at the time of exit. If you quit in the middle of a puzzle, you will lose your progress only on that specific puzzle (which is not a bad thing if you want to reset a puzzle and start it over).
Completionists should reach 100% if they find and assist all 'forlorn' embers at each campfire. There are collectible notes scattered around the environment that are fun to search for but do not count towards achievements (there is no recap at the end to tell you how many you missed). I believe that you can choose to locate only a handful of 'forlorn' embers in each area and choose to move forward without completing all puzzles.
This was a relaxing and sweet game with a metaphysical overtone. It was a great break from games that require focused coordination or stealth and evasion. It is peaceful and allows you to play at your own pace, doing tasks in whatever order you choose. All in all, The Last Campfire is fun to play. When you finish the game, you can circle back through the environments at your leisure. There are also a few additional puzzles that can be played from the main menu.
I recommend this to those who enjoy a sweet story and an interesting but not-too-hard adventure.

Clocks in at 5 hours and that's at 100% but I was easily engrossed in it.
The puzzles can feel a bit simple but you know sometimes you just need a simple game.

Not only the Characters and their Story or little conversations, the narrator fits perfectly and adds a lot to the feeling you have during the playthrough.
You play as a little lost soul, that doesnt know where it is and whats going on. During your exploration of the world, you find other lost souls and with different puzzles you can help them.
The whole game I felt really emotional and the more I was exploring, the more I got surprised by the beauty of it.
All the detail - seriously I have nothing to complain about this game.
It is adorable throughout!

In The Last Campfire it’s your task to guide lost (forlorn) creatures to the campfires. There are three campfires to guide creatures to and this means that there are also three areas to explore: a small one (a forest), a large one (a marsh) and a medium sized one (caves). Exploration happens on foot, but in the last area you also get to use a boat.
Along the way you can find secret journals located in chests. You’ll sometimes have to manipulate the environment in order to find or grab these. Hence why they are called secret (although they’re usually very easy to spot).
Each area has eight forlorn creatures you have to guide towards the campfire. These are guided by solving puzzles. Touching a forlorn creature transforms the surroundings into a temporary puzzle area that changes back whenever you touch the creature again or, ideally, when you manage to solve the puzzle. Finding these creatures usually also requires solving an environmental puzzle and interacting with other characters. Most of the times you’ll need to find a specific item in order to progress, like finding a fishing net or seeds. These are fun puzzles to solve that make use of the entire area you’re currently playing in. The forlorn puzzles on the other hand are usually the block pushing kind, but there are also puzzles involving snakes (in which they move like the phone hame of yesteryear) and wind blowing blocks. And more obviously. They range in difficulty from simple to medium hard, with one puzzle in particular (in the first area) that stood out as difficult, to me anyway, or at least more complex in nature. But otherwise they can usually be easily solved with just a little time, patience and logical thinking,
After finding each of the forlorn you can ask the campfire spirit to help you move on. This actually means moving to the next area. However, if you’re still missing one or more forlorn then you can ask the spirit for more direct hints that will lead you to their location. I personally never continued before moving on so I’m not entirely sure if you are required to find them all of just a minimum amount. But I think all have to be found before you can progress.
Playing through the entire game, doing literally everything, will take about five hours. Afterwards there’s no reason to play it again, but given the price that shouldn’t be a big deal.
I never encountered any bugs or glitches, but the camera - especially in the first area - didn’t always show me the entire layout properly which resulted in sometimes stumbling on a forlorn by coincidence.
Graphically the game is pretty with simple, yet detailed areas and nicely modeled and animated characters, although the animations are quite limited to be honest. It’s a game with a colorful exterior, but a more moody interior when you look closely.
There’s no voice acting, but there is a narrator who does a decent job. She sounds a bit dull, even uninterested at times. Maybe to match the sadder vibe of the game, but in any case I didn’t care for it.
There’s very limited use of sounds, although there are ambient sounds like birds chirping that make the world feel alive. The music also sounds great with melancholic melodies that feel hopeful at the same time. Very nice.
The Last Campfire is a good puzzle game that shouldn’t be overlooked. It isn’t a long game and the puzzles aren’t terribly hard which means it can be enjoyed by anyone. While the game is colorful and it looks playful there’s a sadder, but simple, story behind it all. It never gets to the point that it becomes depressing, though. Considering the price they ask for this this is an easy recommendation for sure.

I loved the boat customization, but was disappointed that the story could not be completed with it. (possible spoiler follows) The story should have ended by using the customized boat instead of the one that was used, which I think should have met the same fate as the rest.
9/10 Very well done! I recommend this game for pretty much anyone 10+. Younger players may also like it, depending on how well they do puzzles.
