Für Genrefans definitiv zu empfehlen.
Contra:
Pro:
- Viele sympathisch ulkige Charaktere
- Interessante Idee mit der Flötennase
- Gute deutsche Sprecher

At first I was just looking for something to play in between, but really fell in love with the characters, the world, everything.
It's funny, it's cute and also has an ingame help system (which I enjoyed a lot instead of looking for a walkthrough when I was stuck and just needed a little push in the right direction).

Review The Inner World
The Inner World ist ein 2D Point-and-Click Adventure des deutschen Spieleentwicklers Studio Fizbin.
Story
The Inner World sieht einfach großartig aus.
Kopierschutz
Fazit
Qualitativ kommt The Inner World nah an Daedalics Adventure Meisterwerke ran. Von meiner Seite eine wärmste Empfehlung!

Story
You mainly play as Robert, a young and naive novice and the foster-son of Conroy, one of the three wind monks. They are responsible for safeguarding the wind fountains, great objects that provide air for everything in Asposia, the fictional setting where this story takes place, to live and flourish.
But for some reason, these fountains start to peter out one after another until only one is left, the one being looked after by Conroy. And even this one is barely providing enough wind for the few remaining inhabitants of Asposia to survive. To make matters worse, the wind gods start to emerge from the depths of those very fountains and petrify good chunks of the remaining populace.
It is in this dystopian setting that your story starts, as one day the favorite necklace of your mentor and foster father (Conroy) gets stolen by a thieving pigeon, and you head off to reclaim it, uncovering secrets along the way that will change the winds of fate forever, hehe.
The story is being told in five different chapters, with a couple of twists put in here and there.
Gameplay
'The Inner World' is a typical 2D-Ponit'n'Click Adventure game. You use your mouse to navigate Robert throughout various scenes and interact with different items and characters. You've got a basic inventory at the bottom end of your screen where you can manage your items, e.g., combining some of them and letting them interact with the surrounding world.
In typical Point'n'Click Adventure-manner, you have to solve puzzles in order to advance the story. For the most part, they are not overly difficult nor are they overly easy to solve, though some of them will take you quite a bit of imagination to figure out. And in case you should have troubles working out a solution to one of them, there is a hint system at the ready to give you some useful advice.
Now on to the dialogue. You go through quite a bit of dialogue in this game, which I'd describe as well written and especially as funny.
The characters are overall likeable, I especially dig the dynamic between Robert and Laura, but the tailor, the hilarious canary and the bartender do also come to my mind when writing about the lines that the winds carry inside this game, hehe 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Plus, all the dialogue is fully voiced.
Technical Stuff
I really like the beautifully and somewhat more “simpler” hand-drawn art style of this game, as well as its cartoon-like animations. I think the partly more dull colors really fit the dystopian theme well. And so does the beautiful soundtrack by Christian Berth. For me, it's a somewhat soothing, mysterious but also haunting OST with its fair share of darker tones and melodic moments.
As I have stated above, all the characters' dialogue is fully voiced. The voice acting, in my opinion, is well done in both German and English and the dialogue is well written.
Regarding technical issues I have encountered: I did encounter some technical issues in this game. It froze a couple of times and one time it even crashed. However, apart from that, I didn't encounter any other technical issues whatsoever and the game ran just fine for me. The freezing could be solved by exiting to the main menu and reloading the save game and, for all I know, it might as well have come up due to me doing something wrong in the game.
On a side note, regarding the save game system: The game automatically saves your progress after, I believe, every or at least most of your interactions with the world, but you can also save manually. There's only one save for one particular game at any given time. So if you wanna go for 100% achievement completion, you should either look up a guide for them (as I did) or you will probably have to replay the game at least a second time since there are a few easily missable achievements in there.
Résumé
I really enjoyed the roughly 10 hours it took me to complete this game. The story, the character design, the dialogue, the art style and the music really fit well together and the Point'n'Click mechanics have been implemented nicely. I got a few good chuckles out of it and at the same time, it also managed to surprise me every now and again with it's partially darker tones. I've got this game for only €1 at Bundle Stars and for that price, it definitely is a steal. And for its current price, being at sale in a bundle with the soundtrack for only €3 (as of January 9th 2022), it is still a steal. I'd even say that it is worth the original price of €15 in the bundle.
'The Inner World' is a lovely little adventure that I can warmly recommend to you, especially if you like Point'n'Click Adventure games!
On another note
I just wanted to point out that this is sort of my first “bigger” review, so I'm very sorry if something doesn't seem that well articulated or if there are any kinds of grammar issues (I'm also not a native English speaker). If you do have some improvement suggestions, please feel free to post them down below. Thanks in advance. ^^
Thank you very much for reading. Have a great day!
Cheers :)

But overall the game play and puzzle is really good. It also seem weird to me how the puzzle is this game force you to use a lot of your imagination to crafting strange item to create in your inventory. But I enjoyed very much something like this as a creative mind to expand your intellectual ability.

Information / Review English
The Inner World is a point and click adventure game developed by Studio Fizbin.
Gameplay / Story
The Inner World takes place in the fantasy world Asposien, a huge cavity surrounded by earth. Three large wind wells, each looked after by a wind monk, provide ventilation for Asposia. But the situation changes: Two of the wells dry up completely, the well of the wind monk Conroy gives very little wind, and the wind gods visit Asposia and petrify sinners. The player takes on the role of Robert, the naive novice and foster son of Conroy, when he is polishing a Conroy necklace pendant and it is stolen from him by a dove. While trying to catch the pigeon, he falls into the trash chute of the throne room and lands outside the palace for the first time. The game itself is divided into 5 chapters.
The Inner World is a point-and-click adventure. Figures composed of sprites act in front of hand-drawn, partially animated backdrops. The player can use the mouse to move his character through the locations and use the mouse buttons to initiate actions that allow the character to interact with his environment. Robert can find objects and apply them to the environment or other objects, as well as communicate with NPCs. As the story progresses, more locations will be unlocked.
Pro
+ bizarre characters with humor
+ quirky design
+ Puzzles offer a pleasantly crisp challenge
+ matching background music
+ Help function replaces external complete solutions
+ successful settings
+ Achievements and trading cards
Contra
- Backdrops sometimes seem too inanimate
- Control not implemented optimally
Conclusion
The Inner World offers you a humorous, classic adventure, which is accompanied with great dialogues and puzzles.
Information / Review Deutsch
The Inner World ist ein Point & Click Abenteuerspiel, welches von Studio Fizbin entwickelt wurde.
Gameplay / Geschichte
The Inner World ist ein Point-and-Click-Adventure.
Pro
+ bizarre Figuren mit Humor
+ verschrobenes Design
+ Rätsel bieten eine angenehm knackige Herausforderung
+ passende Musikuntermalung
+ Hilfefunktion ersetzt externe Komplettlösungen
+ gelungene Vertonungen
+ Errungenschaften und Trading Cards
Kontra
- Kulissen wirken manchmal zu unbelebt
- Steuerung nicht optimal umgesetzt
Fazit
The Inner World bietet dir ein humorvolles, klassisches Abenteuer, welches mit tollen Dialogen und Rätseln begleitet wird.

It's a credit to the writing, acting and animation that I can suggest this game so emphatically despite really disliking the execution of the main mechanic. Definitely worth a buy.

Just make sure you save the saveFile-1.tiw (the number is the slot) a lot in a separate folder and rename so can pick which one want to restart with. Especially when meet Steve/Pete! You don't want to go too far back if making the dough doesn't work correctly. Also save a lot cause if you alt-tab, it might not come back and you will have to stop and restart the game. Sometime the videos lock-up. Fun game, but do the above and you won't get so frustrated you rage quit.

Fantastic game with a charming art style.
The puzzles are fun and at times quite challenging, but the game does have a hint system which can be helpful if you've been stuck on a puzzle for a while, I've also found that simply taking a break and doing something else for a while can be quite helpful. Although the puzzles can be challenging the game never feels like it's being unfair, but it does leave you feeling like an utter moron at times.
I'm going to have to dock a point because the game keeps constantly crashing and getting infinite loading screen glitches.
However, the game auto-saves pretty often, so I've never lost more than a few seconds of progress due to crashes or glitches, so that's not too big of a deal.
Even with glitches I can 100% recommend this to anyone who likes puzzle games, and I'm very much looking forward to playing the sequel. In fact, I'm going to play it right now.

Very sweet point n click adventure with everything your heart desires, great story, with a lot of humor.
Unfortunately, the Steam version was a bit buggy / laggy (game crashes, duplicating items).

The Good:
- Cartoony, depressing world full of misery and happiness; and an artstyle to match.
- Interesting characters.
- The world isn’t static. Things actually move in the different scenes. Although, I would not complain if there were even more of that.
- There is humor throughout, as you typically see with adventure games.
- Charming and strange story.
The Neutral:
- The puzzles are moderately challenging; neither brain-melting nor mind-numbing.
- The main character has an IQ of 89. It makes it easier to relate to him.
The Bad:
- There is no chapter select. That’s not really an issue unless you’re going for 100%, as there are missable achievements.
Pro Tips:
- Save a checkpoint for each chapter.
- Had a glitch where there were 2 Roberts on the screen at once. Nothing game-breaking, but it happened when I performed one task while another was going on.
- Sometimes objects can be used in multiple ways, and some of those ways unlock achievements.
Do you like your humor to be mixed with a sense of despair? Do you like traditional adventure games? If so, then this game certainly has something to offer you.

Being able to explore a well-crafted world that is beyond my own imagination is probably one of the most desirable qualities that I look for in narrative-focused games. Impressively, The Inner World is able to offer just that by managing to create a setting that doesn’t parallel other fiction much at all, if any. In addition, inhabiting this creatively unique setting, are goofy, endearing, and distinctively designed characters each with amazingly fun voice acting that nails each vastly varying personality. These narrative and artistic aspects, along with a well-told plot, entertainingly ridiculous puzzles, a great hint system, captivatingly creative background art, and solid yet simplistic animation, come together in such a fantastic manner to create The Inner World. It will probably be a while before I play another title as creativity distinct and personally appealing as this one, not because I am not looking for one, but because it is rare to find in medium. Overall, it is a real treat.

You'll play as a boy that know nothing of the world outside because he's basically a sheltered boy, so you'll learn about the world just as he learn about it too
The comedy in this game is pretty silly, especially the guards. You can't helped it but laugh at them
Some of the puzzles are easy enough, but some of them require you to brute-force it.. [strike]Or maybe I just didn't find the clues, so I did that[/strike]
I wouldn't say this a kid-friendly game, because there are a bit of profanities though
You'll be seeing girls fight each others with their mouth, so you know what to expect
TL;DR
Short and charming point&click adventure game
Maybe this isn't really exactly kid-friendly game since there are a little profanities
But if you're ok with that, I'd say go ahead and play it with your kid or you can just play it yourself

We are brought to the world of Asposia where Conroy monk rules the empire and controls the wind resources. The world's air is provided with three wind fountains and you will go on a journey with Robert to find about his past and helping Laura (a thief) along the way.
Pros:
- Variety of Easy/Medium Puzzles - use objects, fetch quests, etc.
- Story is well developed and broken into chapters. You can pause or exit the game without losing your progress. With 5 chapters, you learn more about Robert, Laura, and how Conroy took control of Asposia.
- Funny characters throughout story including swamp monsters and other mystical creatures (Fosfos)
- A minigame to play called Flutenose, basically Guitar Hero on the keyboard with score based on accuracy.
- Protagonist goes on a journey of learning about his parents, Conroy, and making choices for himself. This feels like a book or movie with a great cast of supporting characters.
Cons:
- No replayability and play one time to get all achievements. Game can be done in 4-6 hours.
- Some puzzles are hard to figure out without using a guide. No hint system and need to click around to find subtle clues. If you click wrong object, Robert or Laura tells you this does not help or not useful at this time.
- No way to speed up cutscenes or long dialogue. This should be allowed in any Adventure game since certain parts can be feel dull or too long for players to read through. You can skip by pressing enter, but you have to do this each time a certain cut scene appears.

Nothing revolutionary in the gameplay department but the story is pretty good, good vs evil with villain tropes. The main thing this one shines though is in humor. It's bloody fun game and the dialogues are just massive lol moments, one after another.
The character are likable and music is melodious!
Highly Recommended for adventure game fans.
