Ill be honest, I've played the game for quite a long time and the last actually price worthy chapter upgrade was Summerset. Don't get this upgrade unless it goes in a bundle along with the others for sale and only if you want permanent stuff or item set build min maxxer type of guy.

Politic mumbo jumbo, very boring story
looks same as any other zone, dungeons and delves as well
card game is not well thought, worst card game i ever seen
no new class or unique skills, companions die instantly to everything
And you dont even get the full High Isle experience, other content is behind pay wall of ingame store

As someone who genuinely enjoys side quests and completing everything in a fairly efficient amount of time. I can't help but absolutely despise the grind for your companions rapport. This has been a problem since the Deadlands DLC with Mirri and Bastian. All honesty I JUST WANT TO DO THEIR SIDE QUEST THAT ISN'T TRAPPED BEHIND A HUGE RAPPORT GRIND. I'd recommend keeping the missions behind their level ups or not have us grind 5000+ rapport with trivial assignments like delve quests that give 125 a day, or killing wolves for +1 rapport point. It's fairly disheartening when as someone who doesn't have time to grind and simply want to enjoy the story (ESPECIALLY stories that come from my companion) has to spend days just to get a few side quests. Please for the love of Stendarr just give us the companion quests.

I love this game but every year it seems more and more like a cash grab from the devs. This DLC, like last years DLC can be completed within a few hours and is just not worth the money. My advice would be to get ESO+ for a month and play this DLC when it becomes free with ESO+ next year, that way you can play any other locked DLC content for free as well and get more value for money. Plus, every time a new DLC is released there are always lots of bugs and problems that take ages to get fixed so you actually get a better gaming experience by waiting anyway, in my honest opinion.

Sigh. Another completely lackluster year. Last year felt like a flop and then they drop another wet noodle on us this year.

The zone is pretty but mostly empty. Every year they reduce the number of quests you get but the price tag always stays the same.

The card game is pretty meh. It isn't a bad addition honestly, but to have it be the main expansion feature is very lame.

We have not had any fun combat changes in three years now - no new weapon, no new class, no new morphs, no PvP changes or additions. Nothing. Then they drop Update 35 on us and it sucked the last little bit of life out of the combat system and raiding.

The devs for ESO need a serious change in direction and leadership. For the 40 dollars I spent on this I could get 2-3 complete games that provide me more joy than this expansion. High Isle can be finished in 10-12 hours at a CASUAL pace. Then, if you don't want to play a mediocre card game, you are left with nothing. If you want, you can achieve 100% map completion in a single day. Pathetic.

If you are on the fence, don't buy this expansion. Stop rewarding these devs for absolute bare minimum effort. Then they have the audacity to charge 40 dollars for this nonsense. If you are new to ESO and thinking about jumping in, then just get the base game and subscribe to ESO+. By the time this lame expansion even matters to you as a new player it will be part of the package on ESO+ and you will have saved the 40 bucks.
