Probiert mal Two Worlds.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition
2007 RPG.
Here you can find the patch for all versions to play in German.
http://www.game-2.de/the-elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-goty-deluxe-edition-german-patch/
I find it pathetic that such a large company doesn't even offer the original German version here on Steam. So it was with the first release, it was only available in English, but later it was also in the original German version, at that time still on CD.
Oblivion offers you an RPG experience like never before. This is actually the case, at that time there was a fight about who appeared first, Gothic III as the only competition came out a little later. Both games are from 2006. However, I find such comparisons pretty silly because the two games are super good and very different. A tip for all those who can not get enough of such games. Give Two Worlds a try.
Immerse yourself in a detailed and vibrant game world to explore the huge world and find yourself a destination.
Oblivion has changed a lot in gamplay compared to Morrowind, this is also the case for Skyrim. Most inquiries to me about this game relate to playability. I will try to illustrate this using an example. There are dungeons in the game that are actually only necessary for LvL and for better equipment. Although some of them also help you to complete orders.
So at Morrowind you could clear a hell system or ruins and then it was safe, the animal world would move in there.
In the case of Syrim, over time, the place is once again occupied by all kinds of rabble, sometimes by animals.
With Oblivion it is different, if you stroll there while exploring then you have to fight your way back and sometimes this is almost impossible because the new stock is several LVL higher.
My recommendation was always to spokes and clean the dungeons in a hurry, then quickly get out. I went through it twice with and without all the extensions. I nibbled around quite a few places to complete it. All orders can be completed except for a few that are mutually exclusive. Oblivion is a dangerous place, especially for all of them
who stick their noses in things they are not yet up to.
Here you will find my group and my archive with almost 1,000 reviews at the moment. Have fun browsing.

The quests in Oblivion are honestly some of the best in the Elder Scrolls franchise, especially when it comes to the guild questlines. The amazing soundtrack along with the landscape (which honestly still looks pretty good for a game from 2006) make for a really memorable experience. The combat is very floaty and janky a lot of times, but it’s definitely not that bad compared to other games.
Overall I have a lot of nostalgia for Oblivion, but if you’re an Elder Scrolls fan and haven’t played it, you should definitely consider picking it up.

Pros:
- Character creation
- Heavy RPG elements (Skills, dialogue choices etc.)
- Vast world to explore, Cyrodill, which is a huge region inside Tamriel
- The main storyline is quite interesting
- The soundtrack is really good
- Some characters are really well written
- Tons of side quests to do
- The Graphics is actually kinda great for its time
- The combat is a huge step up from Morrowind's horrendous combat system
Neutral:
- While the story of the game is quite interesting, there are some repeated content, like going through Oblivion gates felt like a waste of time and cumbersome, I just started speedrunning them after doing like 3-4 in a row.
- The Shivering Isles DLC is okay it has its great moments, but gets boring kinda fast. Totally overrated.
Cons:
- Characters look absolutely awful even for its time, but bearable
- The UI is horrible, it's very cramped and was clearly designed for consoles and on PC it's just a time consuming mess, use the Darnified UI mod, which makes it actually usable.
- Copy-pasted dungeons
- Immersion breaking bugs/oversights
- Bugs that break progression
- Bad game design like turning into a vampire for the first time which irritates you to madness and it's not explained to you how to deal with it unless you search for it on Google.
- There are like 4-5 voice actors overall in the whole wide game, it's just laughable
- The AI can be really dumb
- The game can get REALLY BORING after a time, even before you finish it.
- Default FOV is horrible
- The combat can be so boring I just avoided lots of enemies when I could just to progress with quests.
Tips:
- Enhance your playthrough with mods, as they can fix a lot of problems as I've listed in the Cons list, but don't go over the board and stay on lore friendly stuff.
- For mod managers, use either Wrye Bash or Oblivion Mod manager, or both, but I highly recommend Wrye Bash.
- Also you'll need a mod sorter for some reason I've never seen anything like this with any game, but I can recommend LOOT.
7.5/10 It's a really great game I've enjoyed a lot. It was innovative and influental, but far from a masterpiece.

It was everything I could and could not imagine. A great fantasy universe with open world, lot of loot, magic, quests, homes, little things. But I was so bad at playing this game. Good thing my father was a hardcore gamer and loved all sorts of rpg. So I whenever I had any difficulties on my own savefile I would load up my dad's save and enjoy all the cool stuff he found during quests (oh yeah I also hated reading, so completing quests was really hard for me).
Later my father always got mad when he found out I was playing his safefile, so he would just copy his own safefile for me.
But that didn't help him much as I would go after his playthrough again after a while x)
Just thought like sharing it, so I wouldn't forget the great time I had when I discovered this gem and how it sinked deep into my heart.

A breath of fresh air reverting back to this diamond in the forgotten rough. If you're a purist you'll dive right in and get immersed, otherwise a few graphic mods will polish the game up a bit bringing in the immersion a bit more.
Can never go wrong with The Elder Scrolls.

A couple of years on, I came back. I think the biggest shock for me was how different it was and I expected to understand it based on Skyrim. Oblivion is not Skyrim. It's so much more. Oblivion is colourful, funny in all the right ways and the writing... the writing for the quests is phenomenal. There are many characters that you'll find yourself remembering so much further down the line, quests that just stand out as iconic and generally a much more fantastical feeling than I ever got with Skyrim. I've loved both, but give me a choice between the two and I'll gladly step into Cyrodiil for another go.
The combat handles like you're swinging a pool noodle, but magic is where the combat in this game shines. The level of customisation and the utility of spells is phenomenal, and when you consider how easy it can be to mod this game you can fix any niggling issues you come across.
I don't know what it is about the NPC dialogue, but even though it's comically bad it's so warming to the heart. The characters care about the world, and even if one will sit there bringing up some major threat only to be met with a complaint about mudcrabs, they all feel connected to the place they live in. I love it.
10/10 would help Sean Bean again

Play Daggerfall for role playing.
Play Morrowind to experience a harsh and gritty world building phenomenon.
Play Skyrim for a more modern gaming experience.
Oblivion has found itself in an odd place where newer gamers find it hard to look at and older gamers don't like the streamlined dialogue options and lack of consequences that can kill an rpg.
These things have made it easy to overlook all the positives that make Oblivion such an amazing game and in my opinion, the most underrated in the series.
The levelling system is brutal. Which I love. This is the only game in the series where I actually feel a sense of danger at going out into the wilderness. I remember being chased by a Minotaur as I ran backwards shooting arrows at it. It had one hit left on me and was about to strike, when a particular orc who I had previously helped came out of nowhere and killed it. Little did I know, that orc actually walks around clearing dungeons after you help her and happened to be right where I was being chased. I was speechless. I have never had a remotely similar experience playing a video game.
The characters in this game have personality, the quests range from menial tasks to epic adventures to downright wacky, wtf just happened kind of stuff, the music sends chills down your spine and the protagonist is basically the doom guy of the elder scrolls universe.
It's full of surprises and I would recommend new and old rpg fans alike to either play or revisit this game.

It lacks the complexity of Morrowind, but it retains the core RPG mechanics that Skyrim lacks.
The music in this game is iconic, the best of the series, easily.
Graphics are old. What did you expect? But there are always mods to fix the faces.. the landscape, however, is beautifull, and you can enhance that with mods too!
The combat is similar to skyrim, but faster.. In fact this was the first TES title that did away with the whole dice roll system.. which is a good or bad thing, depending on where you’re coming from.
This was the last TES title with a good magic system. In every TES except Skyrim, you could create custom spells and enchantments, which makes the magic system quite limitless. You can create any kind of spell you can imagine, with any effects in the game. Though you have to reach a certain point in the Mage’s Guild Questline before you get access to the spellmaking and enchanting altars..
Which reminds me: faction questlines!
I cant think of a single faction with a bad questline... every one of them has a very well written story and had twists and turns that you wont see coming... the Dark Brotherhood questline is famous!
Stealth is weird, and i dont have much experience with it... plenty of spells, enchantments and effects to help you be mire stealthy though..
Perks are unlocked automatically when you level up certain skills. The perks are, unfortunately, quite unoriginal and generic, which is a shame...
Leveling can be weird... every time you level up, you increse 3 attributes.. how many points you get depends on how much you’ve used those attributes.
Use magic a lot, and you’ll get a lot of points in intelligence and willpower. Fight a lot, you’ll increase strength and endurence. Sneak and use archery a lot, your agility’ll go up etc. etc.
This system is bad and can result in a really, really bad and innefective build quite quickly... which sucks.. thankfully there’s...
Mods. There’s less mods than skyrim, and they vary in quality by a wide margin, but theres a lot of good ones. The game can quickly become unstable though, so be ready for that...
DLCs and Expensions. This game literally invented DLCS. Horse armor much? But you can read about that everywhere else...
This game has 2 major expansion packs and a bunch of smaller DLCS. The expension packs are good, especially Shivering Isle. Knights of the Nine is decent enough.. The DLCs range from player homes to horse armor and spell tomes.. They all come in the GOTY edition though so you dont have to worry about those...
Finally, the Oblivion Gates. Oblivion Gates are a major part of the main questline, and they'll end up everywhere.. You cant swing a dead cat in the wild without hitting one oblivion gate.
They're... well, they're decent, but repetitive. Basically the way they work is you got a big tower in the middle, you gotta climb it to the top, take the big laser gem and get booted out. Thats it. But between the gate and the gem, you get a bunch of enemies, obstacles, traps, puzzles etc.
Oblivion gates range from short and simple to ridiculously maze-y and annoying. Every time i enter that one cave gate, i just tcl my way to the tower because feck that sh*t...
They're a good source of loot, i guess, and the sigil stones are a good way to get your gear enchanted, though the enchantments are random..
Overall, Oblivion is a gem of a game. Its my favourite TES title (though Morrowind is a very close second), and i always feel at home whenever i launch Oblivion and hear the epic main menu theme song...

A lovely middle-ground between the more old-school Morrowind and the very entry-friendly Skyrim. With interesting and engaging faction quests. Combat isn't amazing, but it's alright for an RPG.
Modding is where Oblivion truly and utterly shines, if you're thinking of buying the game, play it unmodded first (Or with just the unofficial patches) and then go wild modding. It'll be an experience

Quick tip for people who are gonna play this game, and hopefully this doesn't get buried too quickly; do yourself a favor and don't use quicksave, your save file will get corrupted, it happened to me, and it will happen to you 100%, it's a known bug that has never been fixed.
Other than that the game is absolutely a masterpiece and a must play.

Since Oblivion was first released, on multiple platforms, I have probably put a few thousand hours into Oblivion. This game has a class system (or custom classes) so you have a real sense of actual role-playing, alchemy is better, it has weapon and armour efficiency and repairs, better spell crafting, better loot, better randomisation, better dialogue, better and more creative quests, better voice actors, and because it is Cyrodill, it isn't populated by 99% Nords. No annoying mechanical dragons here either or an excess of boring Draugr. The menus are far better too and you can actually see your character every time you go into the menu, which is dope because you don't have to rely on third person view to see how you look, unlike in Skyrim where they stripped the menu interface into a streamlined, minimalist, Google-esque, console friendly menu with no regard for PC players at all and it sucked balls, oh and it was buggy af.
This game may look old, but it's an RPG experience which still outshines Skyrim in every other way. Casuals will disagree.

Pros: EVERYTHING ELSE.
The questlines in Oblivion are some of the best (if not THE absolute best) of any Elder Scrolls game to date, the gameplay feels like a slightly more refined version of Morrowind's melee combat system, the first game in the series to be fully voice acted, modding community still active after all these years. Don't like how something looks? There's a mod for that. Fun as ever and playable on modern systems without jumping through a bunch of hoops. Highly recommended if you enjoyed Skyrim but wanted better stories.

While the graphics and game-play are somewhat outdated, THAT is how great this game is. Even with older graphics and older game mechanics, Oblivion is overall better than Skyrim and Fallout 4. Oblivion has a much larger, more intricate world. The quests are more challenging, rewarding and interesting.
If you liked Skyrim, you will love Oblivion, once you get into it of course. These games always take a few hours to really start to enjoy the game. Once you get a feel for everything, this game will keep you hooked for a long time.
To get more specific, I would say that Oblivion does a better job of immersion than most RPGs. It really throws you into the fantasy feel. The cities are larger and more intricate, with unique styles and aesthetics. Each town has inner-conflicts, people stopping to talk to each other and endless stories popping up to be followed. The amount of dialogue, plot-lines and in-depth storytelling in every quest is incredible. There are some awesome enchantments in this game, I am disappointed are not in Skyrim. Also, its a small detail, but for swords, this game has short and long swords, which lets you choose range over speed and vice versa. The armor and weapon repair system makes the game more realistic, such that both you and your opponent's equipment wears out/becomes less effective and has to be repaired. I am truly impressed and amazed at the amount of design put into Oblivion as a whole.
I have beaten Skyrim, yet played Oblivion 2 or three times longer(When I played it on PS3) and still not beaten it. Overall, Oblivion is an impressively large, intricate and enjoyable game, which I believe rivals modern RPG, open-world games.
