Tech Support: Error Unknown ist ein Abenteuerspiel mit Simulation und neuen Puzzlemechanismen, die dich vor einen virtuellen Computer setzen. Verwende als neuer Tech-Supportspezialist ein breites Spektrum an Computersoftware, um Kundenprobleme zu lösen, oder manipuliere Programme zu deinem eigenen Vorteil. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass man bei manchen Anfragen keine Chance hat das Ticket erfolgreich zu lösen. Wie führt man eine verkaufte GPS-Ortung durch? Ich habe kein Plan, wo diese Option versteckt ist. ^^ Wahrscheinlich durch Übersetzungsfehler bearbeitet man Tickets auch erst falsch und muss per Trial & Error die richtige Vorgehensweise herausfinden.
Irgendwie ist die Story dahinter auch echt langweilig, weil man wichtige Entscheidungen zum Teil innerhalb der Arbeitszeit treffen muss... als guter Supporter bearbeitet man aber natürlich erst die Kundentickets als sich von Hanswurst nen kilometerlangen Text durchzulesen, der einen irgendwie eh nicht interessiert.
Die Idee vom Spiel ist gut, die Umsetzung aber leider viel zu anstrengend verpackt und schlecht präsentiert, so dass mir die Probleme der Akteure auch völlig egal sind. D.h. das Spiel schafft es nicht Emotionen zu wecken...

XXX DAS PROBLEM WURDE INZWISCHEN BEHOBEN! SUPER SPIEL!

Eigentlich ein echt lustiges und spaßiges Game. Jedoch hängt das Spiel leider bei Level 9 sich auf bzw. man kann den Tag nicht weiterspielen. Ich habe es mit meiner Freundin auf zwei Rechnern installiert und bei uns beiden ist das so. Sehr schade. Sonst ein klasse Spiel!

There is no reason to not buy this game.

It feels like you are interacting with other humans and it's very accurate as a simulator. It ha sooooo many endings. I've played for almost 4 hours and only got 1 of the 20 endings. It also has native Linux support! What else can you ask for?


No for real, I paid 2 euros for this during the steam winter sales but I think it is worth the full price.

While this game is pretty fun, it's incredibly bugged after a few in-game days. There are a LOT of conflicting solutions and you can't ever be sure that the game will accept your solution even if you follow procedure perfectly.
I guess you could make a point that that's just how bad tech support work can be, but let me make it clear that putting something like that in a game would be absolutely stupid, so I'm giving the devs the benefit of the doubt.
But seriously, there are a lot of bugs in the game that ARE KNOWN by the devs (just look at steam forum posts and other reviews) but are just ignored. Like the CEO's 2FA code always being wrong and the game failing tickets you handled exactly like protocol. It's kind of outrageous at times.

tl;dr if they actually patch the game it could be pretty fun, otherwise it's a waste of your time and money.

Having worked for a few years in teleservices, this is hilarious, even though I did get fired after 12 days on my first run in the game.

Realistic: 9/10, can't hang up on customer, people complain after a 20 second wait, mandatory scripting doesn't fit many situations.

Unrealistic: Fun.

While the repetitive nature of the gameplay doesn't annoy me at all (I play this as a chill kind of game, so it's whatever), and well - it succeeds in being a chill, 'play this while listening to something else' game. I still find it hard to recommend. But I'll review the story a bit here.

The story is almost non-existent unless you go down a certain path right at the very start of the game. Whatever, I'm not playing this game for the story here because I wasn't expecting anything great. I just want to be the company man. Though I can say some of the choice making and bugs is what is driving me to write this review.

Despite supposedly working off your choices, the game... forgets you make them, when it comes to some of the email stories. The side stories are over as soon as you send them some money, which, whatever. Again. But still, there's some inconsistency (such as dealing with your brother, [spoiler] despite sending him the money, our mother still died? I dunno! [/spoiler] ).

But like I said the narrative isn't why I'm playing it. So now on to the bugs.

The game's solutions make no sense at points, mainly to deal with the VIPs. You tell a VIP customer with the wrong 2FA code that you can't help him so you... fail the ticket? You tell a VIP client with a cracked screen to send in the phone for repair for free, they agree. You... fail the ticket? There's also some solutions that don't work on some problems the first time (for example, telling someone to factory reset a phone that won't turn on, obviously won't work) but the game fails you for not giving that solution to someone else. I don't get it.

Also, I understand that VIP get access to free phones, however I was told that VIP get ALL SERVICE for free. So why shouldn't I offer a less costly solution for the company? It makes no sense, lmao.

But eh, whatever. It's a fine timewaster, but there's no real way I can recommend it.

Good framework and idea; love the little details.

That said it gets very repetive extremely fast and feels kind of grindy.

Needs a bit more content and story in the approach to be reccomended; love the idea though!

This game is ok but it's super repetitive and not very challenging at all.

I've played it through once but ended up being really disappointed with it in the end. There are very few additional functions to the 'support desk' and those that are given you don't really end up using that much and it becomes quite dull. The restraint on your responses as well cause issues when it comes to responding to the in game event trigger type conversations, such as with the boss and the terrorist.

I would be asking for a refund on this game if the initial play through hadn't of taken me over the time played limit for Steam to refund me.

I played this game once through. I am aware of all the different endings and story lines but the basic game-play can be very frustrating, taking away from those other elements. I would say 8 times out of 10 when you fail a 'ticket' the email you get says [insertbettersolution]. On many occasions as well, the failing system contradicts itself. It needs to be streamlined big time, because it's not fun to play a game where you are literally guessing on how to do well and there is no consistency. I can't really make myself play another time through because of this. I'll just look up the endings online.

For the first 2-3 hours of game-play, the story appears to begin to develop nicely as so too do your skills. After the 3rd hour however things start to stagnate, become repetitive, and the story appears to be unfinished. The story which was initially developing with each new game day, has now halted and not progressed in a long time.

This game has great potential, but in its current unfinished state is not worth purchasing. Save your money for a better game.

Customer said her phone wouldn't turn on so I suggested she replace the battery, however she said that was to difficult. After several minutes of support I said we couldn't help. The ticket failed and the manager said I should have suggested a replacement battery, WHICH WAS THE FIRST THING I SAID, she then implied I was a twat (but didn't say as much).

This happened more than once and was soooooo frustrating.

Refunded.

good game. enjoyable but the warranty side does annoy. you have three warranty levels. extended, standard and expired. the expired one is easy. just offer the most basic help and if no joy turn the customer away. its the extended and standard ones that get you. extended is as bad as you can basically give them the option of repair or replacement if helping dont work out and still be more or less right. but standard is a killer. you could have one customer with a standard warranty and offer all the help you think you can under that warranty and be told you were wrong and went too far. the very next customer could have the same level so you tone it down a bit only to be told you should have went farther to help out. i fell like there is something broken somewhere along the line and needs to be double checked as this really disrupts the experiance for me. other then that a good game with a good overall look and feel.

update. sorry but i forgot to add this before. there is some parts where you need to talk to someone that isnt a customer. like your brother who tells you about your mothers failing health. hes looking for simple answers and all you can give is customer focus prewritten answers. maybe allow for more suitable answers based on whats going on

Fun. Addicting game.
Uncover different story in the game, you can be a hacker or just help others. Overall the game is pretty challenging, many objectives are hard to complete and require multiple play throughs.

Obviously, not everyone will enjoy the tech support part which helps you get money in game. But if you are okay with that, the game is pretty fun.

Sir, have you tried smashing your phone against the wall?

This mix of papers please and hacking comes together to form a somewhat enjoyable journey.
It's quite entertaining and unique in the first playthrough in both mechanics and story but doesn't deliver enough variety in the generated elements and customer problems/interactions to make replayability good enough.
It comes along with several bugs that even may impact the story itself, but to be honest it doesn't affect the overall enjoyment.
Although it gives the illusion of having large amounts of combinations that you can make with the mechanics it gives you, deep down you have limited paths and restricted combinations to choose from.

But in the end, putting details aside, it gives you a fun ride on your first go and it's addicting in its own kind of way. Get ready to simulate what the life of a tech support is.

Quite honestly, I expected this game to be more of a joke than anything, but it has an extremely interesting and engaging story, and it's actually quite fun to solve(and sometimes cause) problems.

What all I can say without spoiling the story is that this is a pseudo hacking game where you're a new tech support representative at a corrupt tech company. The game features branching paths as well as extremely interesting reasoning to support either side of the story. I didn't expect an ethical challenge in a game about tech support.

This game isn't exactly perfect though. Sometimes the writing can be a little stiff, but that's to be expected with so many randomly generated NPCs to help. It's still less immersion breaking than the randomly generated personal details of games like Watch Dogs.

Overall, if you want to play a game that's easy and simple to get into, but can be complex and interesting to dig deeper into, I highly recommend this game. you won't be disappointed.

What a fun game! I truly enjoy playing this game and look forward to getting the rest of the achievements. It reminds me a bit of Orwell and Papers Please! Some days in the game do seem a bit boring and repetitive so I do wish more things happened. Also, [spoiler]after certain characters die, you can still e-mail them like they're alive? I bought this game when it was having a 50% off sale. For the sale price (£4.49) I probably would recommend the game, but for it's full price I would not.

At first the game seemed fun and I was excited to see where it would go, but it soon became tedious and the first ending that I got left me feeling very disappointed. I played everything as though I were a real employee and not breaking company contract and for the last 10/15 days of the game I barely got any new emails or story updates - I was basically just playing a tech support simulator. I think for me to play the game properly, it needs more of a consistent story line all the way through with every outcome.

I also experienced a few bugs, telling me that I'd handled a ticket incorrectly when I had in fact done the correct thing, mainly when you look at warranty's and the standard warranty not covering a fault made by the person themselves.

It was ok, but not amazing. I'll probably play again to find a different story ending but I can't see this becoming a game that I play frequently.

As an IT worker, the game does it average
As a gamer, the game is overpriced.

It had a good concept that I like but there a lot of games that have the same concept and use it better.

In this case, the game has a repetitive and uninteresting gameplay and the lore is cliché.
If I had played the tutorial first maybe I wouldn't have bought the game, for it is overpriced.

I enjoyed the game for a little bit, the game ultimately leaves me wanting more, but not more of what's there.
* Too many bugs including being told you had the wrong solution when it clearly was correct
* Some of the bugs stop you progressing in the story, but if you don't already know what the story is you'd never know you're stuck.
* Pacing of the story was poor (or events were just not firing when they should??)
* The core gameplay doesn't really evolve much past a certain point. I assume this is because the story is meant to take over, but it never did for me.

I think the game could be polished and expanded to be quite an interesting and engaging game, it's just not there yet. It's a shame because I want to know what happens, just not enough to bear with the game.

It's a good concept and intrigued me, however the dialogue options are too vague and even with tech experience you often have to end up guessing the correct option as it often ends up being a trick question. And trying to have a conversation with a person unrelated to your job and only being able to use the generic responses is a headache. A lot to be improved for this to be enjoyable but again the concept is a really good one.

From the view of someone who does IT support for a living. Honestly not too bad. The game's responses could be a heck of a lot more dynamic.
Asside from that the game is pretty fun and some of the early customers I've delt with in the game actually does come off quite realisting from a tech support perspective

Tech Support: Error Unknown is a great game with an even better storyline. It's gameplay and aesthetics kept me coming back for more of the game. The only thing I would criticize would be the unpolishedness found in resizing the game from fullscreen to windowed and vice versa. 9/10, would recommend.

I like this game there are however a few things I think can make the game better. The first thing is variety in customer problems. Customers are only limited to phone issues, I think adding computer issues to fix would be great. Adding more complex phone issues would be great too. The second thing is the speed of time. Time in this game during story mode moves way too fast, slowing time down in story mode by 1x or 2x would make gameplay better in my opinion.

Overall I like this game its very fun to play and it runs very smoothly. There are no bugs, and no problems with the game at all. I would definitely recommend this game.

Fun Game only for few hours. Once you complete a month that is over for your carrier and you have to start a new one. Few minor bug are present. Get it at a discounted price.
