Sehr gutes Spiel. Handelt ein bisschen wie TWD, dennoch auf ganz eigene Art.
Man kann ebenso Coop spielen, was dennoch heißt, dass es alleine genauso viel Spielspaß bereitet.
Je nachdem wie man es spielt, mit vielen Quests und Spielspannung, verschiedenen Möglichkeiten, Tools und Personen, die man zusätzlich zu seiner eigenen Community hinzufügen kann.

Ich war einer von denen die dieses Spiel ins Deutsche übersetzt haben und kann daher und auch weil ich es selbst etwa 20 Stunden gespielt habe, auch etwas darüber sagen.

Zunächst einmal ist es an sich ein nettes kleines Indiegame, das gerade einmal von einer einzigen Person entwickelt wurde.

Leider gibt es was das Gameplay angeht einige Dinge, die mir persönlich ziemlich gegen den Strich gehen.
So wird man im Grunde von Anfang an durch das Spiel gehetzt, da einer der Hauptcharaktere Medikamente benötigt, die man erst im Laufe des Spiels bekommt oder aber sehr teuer erwerben und die man auch fortlaufend beschaffen muss (also nicht einmalig sondern wieder und wieder).
Dies veranlasst einen dazu, entweder den Charakter sterben zu lassen (was nach meinen Einsichten ins Spiel eine schlechte Idee ist) oder aber sich eben durch das Spiel hetzen zu lassen, was einem meiner Meinung nach den Spaß nimmt und auch sehr riskant ist.
Generell gefällt mir das Lootsystem nicht so ganz, da es zu wenig Sachen gibt, diese meist unglaublich viel wiegen und man selbst sehr wenig Kapazität zum Tragen hat, es sei den man hat einen Rucksack an die auch sehr schwer zu kommen ist.
Die Missionen im Spiel sind meist sehr abwechslungsreich, aber konfrontieren einen oft mit unbekannten Gefahren, auf die man sich meist gar nicht wirklich einstellen kann und oftmals hat der Ausgang meist auch mehr oder weniger negative Überraschungen parat.
Das Spiel ist leider auch nur Storymode - kein wirkliches freies Spiel was schade ist - was einem eben auch Freiheiten nimmt, da man so im Grunde nicht wirklich seinen eigenen Weg gehen kann. Den wenn man sich erst einmal entschieden hat, gibt es oft keinen Weg zurück und Türen schließen sich für immer und damit dann eben auch Handlungsstränge.

An sich tut es mir in der Seele weh, diesem Spiel ein Nein zur Empfehlung zu geben, aber leider mag ich es gar nicht, wenn man mir vorschreibt, in welchem Tempo ich vorzugehen habe und meine Freiheiten lass ich mir auch ungerne nehmen. Es ist aber auch in keinster Weise (mehr) möglich, dies zu umgehen...

Das Spiel wird mit der Zeit auch immer schwieriger und verlangt im Grunde, dass man zur selben Zeit mehrere Charaktere managed bzw. steuert, was aber meist sehr riskant ist, einen Charakter, den man nicht selbst steuert, sondern im Command befehligt, ist nicht wirklich in der Lage sich geeignet zu verteidigen und der Tod ist endgültig. Aber auch wenn nun ein Zombie erfolgreich einen Angriff durchgeführt hat, ist das oft sehr gravierend, den dann ist der Charakter infiziert und dies zu kurieren ist teils ebenso kostspielig, wie auch die Medizin die man eben besorgen muss und geht ebenfalls auf die Zeit die man im Grunde gar nicht hat!
Zudem gibt es verschiedene Infektionen die an Zeit die einem bleibt und Kosten für ein Gegenmittel zu unterscheiden sind. So ist es anfangs die grüne Infektion, dann die blaue, dann die rote und schlussendlich die weiße, gegen die es im Grunde keine Heilung gibt und die einen sofort tötet.
Mit höherer Infektionsstufe befallene Infizierte sind auch dementsprechend stärker, schneller und halten mehr aus.
Und zudem gibt es dann auch noch feindliche Überlebende, die in Gruppen absolut tödlich sind!

Meine Gesamtwertung für das Spiel sind 3 von 5 Punkten, aber dank der oben genannten Gründe möchte ich das Spiel einfach nicht empfehlen, da ich es einfach zu frustrierend finde, auch wenn die Story selbst wirklich sehr gut ist (wie gesagt, ich habe das Spiel teils übersetzt und weiß daher viel - allerdings habe ich es nie geschafft auch nur ansatzweise bis zum Ende zu kommen - im Grunde läuft es einfach darauf hinaus, das besagter Charakter stirbt, da man sich dank dem Zeitdruck, keine Fehler erlauben darf und das Timing einfach stimmen muss, was man aber oftmals gar nicht in der Hand hat).

Das Spiel ist spassiger als es zunächst aussieht..

Im Grunde geht es darum, in der zombieverseuchten Welt verschiedene Aufgaben zu erfüllen, um letztendlich eines von drei wählbaren Spielzielen zu erreichen.
Dazu baut man sich eine Gemeinschaft und eine Basis auf. Die rekrutierbaren NPCs haben verschiedene Talente: Manche können kämpfen, einige können Landwirtschaft betreiben, andere haben praktisch gar nichts drauf. Sie haben verschiedene Bedürfnisse, wollen schlafen, essen usw. Wenn man das vernachlässigt, verlassen einen die Mitstreiter wieder. Man kann frei zwischen den rekrutierten Charakteren wechseln, sie ausrüsten und ihnen Aufgaben zuteilen.

Wer nicht gerade schlafen muss oder in der Basis zu tun hat, wird auf Missionen mitgenommen, die man von anderen NPCs erhält. Viele Missionen ergeben zwar Sinn, manche sind aber auch albern oder moralisch fragwürdig. Man darf sie einfach nicht zu ernst nehmen.

Man kämpft im Spiel gegen verschieden starke Zombies und feindliche Menschen. Es gibt verschiedene Waffen, um Munition zu sparen lohnt es sich aber schwache Gegner einfach zu verprügeln. Funktioniert alles in allem ganz gut und macht Spaß.

Sicher kann man einige Dinge besser machen. Die Grafik ist keine Augenweide und der Soundtrack gefällt mir auch nicht. Ausserdem sollte das Wechseln zwischen den Charakteren leichter sein, bei einer großen Gemeinschaft ist das zu unübersichtlich.

Man bekommt hier ein gutes und günstiges Spiel mit Wiederspielwert, das auf so gut wie jedem Rechner läuft. Kann ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

Mehr Tiefe als erwartet.

Der erste Eindruck- vorallem der im Shop, war nicht besonders gut, aber es war günstig... Nach nem halben Jahr dann mal angespielt und ich muss sagen - Bin sehr positiv überrascht.

Auch wenn es nicht den Anschein macht, dieser Titel gehört zu den Games die man 5 Std spielt - Erst dann kapiert was wichtig ist und worauf das ganze hinaus läuft - und dann freiwillig nochmal von vorne anfängt um es besser zu machen.

Wenn man die Lust und Zeit hat sich darauf ein zu lassen, sind das gut investierte 5 Euro.

Nach 24 Stunden Spielzeit muss ich sagen TOP !

Ich habe noch immer Momente in denen Ich Schreckhaft zusammen zucke, und mir echt Panisch werde, wen ein Infizierter aus dem Dunklen auf mich los Springt um mich zu zerfleischen.
Auch nach 24 Stunden habe ich gerade mal die Hälfte der Karte erkundet. Immer wieder neue Städte, Dörfer und verstecke gibt es zu finden und zu entdecken.
Das Management ist 100% Real…. Nahrung, Munition, Medikamente werden Rapide knapp, vor allem wen die Gruppe, die es zu versorgen gilt ständig anwächst. Baumaterial ist Knapp und Schwer, und muss über immer größere Distanzen transportiert werden. Als die empfinde ich als Absolut PERFEKT gelungen.
Okay, die NEW Age Zocker Schimpfen über die Grafik und den Etwas „Luminösen Sound“ aber ich finde dafür Stimmt Preis Leistung mehr als bei manchen 50€ Titeln.

Also wer Zombies & Survivals & Management & und Angst mag ist hier 120 % Richtig.

If you can get past the rough graphics this is actually a really great squad based survival game. Provides a great sense of community, you'll focus more on how to build your town and how to defend it. Diplomacy will come into play often with so many important decisions to make as events occur and time passes. If you are looking for a more involved zombie survival sim then definitely give this a try! Tons of content for just $5!

Couldn't get the game to continue past the first mission, at all. Tried several instances and still came up with nothing, reached out on here in an old review just to have an extremely toxic community respond back; whom dev's cheer on others to respond poorly to any negative review if comments are enabled? Uh okay, someone doesn't like constructive critics, not my fault the game doesn't work.

I've played countless survival games in my time, this one feels like a poorly managed and made mobile game that was ripped from android and shoved into Steam's booty hole.

I removed my old review cause I couldn't find a way to disable comments after they are enabled; as I had random shitbirds adding me telling me to off myself just because I didn't enjoy the game nor get it to function. How cute. Enabling a hostile community will further breed it into something worse. Even IF this game had a local discord (I joined one which I presumed was the official discord, but was way more toxic than the responses I got via my review) I still would rather avoid touching it and sit with a broken game if it meant not being harassed for asking on assistance. This issue may not be the dev's fault or problem, but I don't see em pointing it out, let alone situating it.

This game is my bread and butter. At first glance, this game might not look like much but it's a great all-rounder of zombie survival. Base building, open world exploration, community management, story, character interaction. The graphics have grown on me a lot and I find this game super charming. Super cheap when on sale, but even worth a buy regular price. Planning on putting many hours into this game, and looking forward to the sequel currently in production.

Absolutely stellar game once you look past the amateurish / dated graphic style, with quite a deep story (if a bit simplified) that reflects society of today. Sadly two times now I have had late game issues break the game - No progression possible since quest is borked due to doing things out of order, which is 100% possible in such an open ended game. Kind of defeats the concept of the kind of game sadly, when you must look up 'quest guides' to see how / where you messed up and have to reload a save, often up to a week (real life week) previous to your most recent save, just to replay that and do it in proper order. (IE don't free people until game tells you to, don't win wars until game leads u by the hand to that point, etc)

Regardless of that, would still, def at this price(less than 6 bucks) suggest everyone give it a play.

I absolutely love this game. I've bought it for all my friends and none of them actually wanted to play it because they're just so put off by the whole intro (and look). You really just gotto play past that and you've got an amazing, OPEN world game. Do I save and reload after every interaction I have? Yes. Do I let the diabetus-chick die everytime because the game lets me and I can't remember her name but why would you when Sarah Slaughter exists? What was my point? pls play

Looks cheaps, feels cheap, IS cheap. You get what you pay for.

I will say, though, that the idea of this game is excellent, which is why I bought it. If this game had been made by a team, with more polish and balance, it would be an amazing game. As it is, it's clunky and slow. Once you really get going, you'll spend most of your time managing your community. That's exactly what attracted me, but managing your community is really poorly designed, so it's very tedious to do.

I have very mixed feelings for this game, it feels like it's a decade older than it is.
But the soundtrack, and gameplay design is great, however some of the mechanics are dated.
I can't really recommend this game, but i can't not recommend it.
See other reviews or videos and try to find out if this game is really for you.
I will say, if you like late 90s/early 00s PC games, you probably will enjoy this.

This is a great game once you get the hang of it, but combat is weird, hold right mouse button to target and left click to shoot, but half the time I have no idea if I hit my target or not, this isn't really a problem when you get to 5 stars in shooting though, but that's going to take you a while.
There's 2 different modes of controlling your characters, command mode, where you issue commands like an RTS game, and control mode, where you control a character directly.
When you assign tasks to your survivors they walk around doing whatever you told them to do, but sometimes the AI does stupid stuff like walking a mile away to find water when you have a freaking well right there at your base.
So, the combat is weird to me, but it's alright, and the AI is occasionally retarded, but overall I think the game is really good and worth buying. I think I'll give it an 8/10

Very addicting story and mechanics. If you like games where you build a community, houses, level up skills, friendships, do quests, have multiple endings and the world is filled with zombies, then, this is the game for you. You'll play for multiple hours without noticing it.

This game is a lot of fun and it's really cheap. I'm only 10 hours into it and I'm not even close to finishing it yet. I got it on sale for $.99, it's regular price is $4.99, I still think it's worth that price. Some reviewers have said that the UI and controls are bad but I don't think so.

Edit: I know this was made by one guy so I don't want to be too harsh but the A.I. is very frustrating at times. One of my party members somehow started a war with Los Ceros while I was wandering around their base. One of the tower guards at my base ran out of ammo while fighting infected, so instead of getting more ammo he ran outside to melee fight them. I still recommend this game though.

This game quickly became one of my favorites of all time. I've replayed several times with new objectives and motives each time and it's always surprisingly fun. Can't believe I've gotten this many hours out of a game for this price. The dev is really a funny and creative person and this is reflected in the brilliant story and quirky combat. Absolutely love every bit of it. Can't wait to pick up Invisible Strain once it's closer to completion.

60 hours. I cannot stress this enough, I believe this game is gold. Yeah, I know I'm late in placing a review, but I was too addicted to this game to place one. In all honesty, I find the camera angle rather comfortable. It's not moving all over the place too much, and it can be easier to angle your shots. The graphics are pretty okay in my opinion. They're aren't so overbearingly horrible to the point of me either laughing out of disgust, or overbearingly amazing that I'd praise it for 5 minutes (waste of 5 minutes, could be used on actually playing). I don't struggle with the guns that much, since I usually try to get the aim at 100%. But that's just me. The combat can be bland at times, but it gets a lot more interesting when you're fighting against a horde or looters.

Moving on, I'm not sure about the pre-generated map. Sure, the map can be memorized for future games, however I feel like a randomly generated map would be interesting. This having a randomly generated map makes me think it would be a lot better.

In total, I would say this game gets a solid 9/10. I really enjoyed every second I played this game, If you can get past the issues, then it has a really nice charm to it. It feels different.

TL;DR - Great game, 9/10, would play again.

It's a good game but there's a new one in the works right now. If you don't mind the art style and controls and such it has a lot to offer.

Just remember it was made by like one guy started in 2009, so it's a little jank.

I'd call this a Beer & Pretzel indie gem with loads of charm.

That means it has a few issues here and there but the fun overshadows that in my opinion.

Oh, my play time is much higher than shown. I played this offline on my laptop ages ago when I was recovering after major surgery over 2 months.
I'm a bad Steam user, I forgot to leave a review back then. Oh well. Better late than never.

Somehow this game ended up in my huge library, like many of the others before it. likely hot-dumped from a pack or bundle. fanatical.com gets me every time...

Basically: does what it says on the packet, delivers on what it promises. I mean, look at the store screenshots. It's home-made, what do you want? If this is what you have been wanting to play, you found it. I'm not even mad.

Play with a game controller. Makes the somewhat awkward menuing system more pleasant.
I must admit, I wasn't expecting much when I purchased this game. After getting the hang of it, I found myself becoming more and more interested. Before too long, I could not wait to get home and tackle this game! Mad Props to Bob! Cant wait for the second edition.

Gonna be 100% real here and say that this game is the ultimate zombie survival game, you done need 4k graphics for a game to be this good! the balance between detail and story is so amazing
its detailed to the point where its not over detailed and and the story is not overwhelming.
your pc doesnt even need good specs to play this on, it is overall a really good game!!

A fun simulator that makes you not want to kill the protaganist, even though I would be suiciding a Hedge Fund manager in any other game. story is very simplistic, but combat is just complex enough to be challenging without overwhelming the game as a combat simulator. I do hope for the sequel they hire an actual writer though.

As someone who liked State of Decay I enjoyed Survivalist tremendously. It has questing, skills, crafting, base building, community management, shooting, bare knuckle fighting, you name it. All of this is very simplified, but fun nonetheless. My personal surprise of the year.

I have to say, Just getting started on this game, the main thing that turns me away personally, is just top down 3rd person,

and the dark edges as you are walking around unexplored areas.

HOWEVER, don't let that turn you away, this game looks to have some depth to it, and offers fairly interesting gameplay. I'd

give it about a 3.5/5, and I will definitely be putting more hours into this game.
