Über das Spiel
Features
B. Darth Vader.
- Besuchen Sie Schauplätze wie den Wookiee-Heimatplaneten Kashyyyk aus Episode III, das überwucherte Felucia, den Schrottplaneten Raxus Prime und eine imperiale TIE-Fighter-Werft.

Comments: Overall not a terrible game, kind of upset I waited so long to finally pick it up and give it a go. For those who enjoy dark souls the harder difficulties will probably be right up your alley, but was probably what bothered me the most. The second boss fight almost made me quit the game. There were other times enemies would get me in a stun lock, then keep repeating a stun/missile attack which I couldn't break out of. Only other real issue was the controls for the star destroyer part seemed completely borked. I had to look up a number of guides on what to do as following the stick indicators wasn't helping.

Also, the locked 30 FPS really sucks. In regular gameplay it is locked at 30, but as soon as you hit something with your lightsaber, it unlocks the framerate for a fraction of a second before going back to 30 which is extremely jarring. There are community patches that unlock the framerate or change the cap, but physics are tied to FPS for this game so it may cause some weirdness.
Despite these issues though, the tech behind this game is extremely impressive for its time, and in some cases still holds up today. I really hope Aspyr comes back and fixes this eventually, I would assume that they would want to, but its more than likely that Disney doesn't want to pay them to fix some old game.
If you like Star Wars and you want to play as an overpowered sith, then this is for you. Well, as long as you're okay with seeking out the mods required to play this in the best way possible beforehand.

A few inconveniences here and there like the 30fps limit and the 1080p resolution limit, as well as some audio issues but nothing some minor mods and adjustments won't fix (if you'd even bother fixing at all I didn't mind them.)

Местами слегка занудная и однообразная, и с камерой не всегда можно подружиться, но масштаб тащит. Если сделать скидку на возраст, смотрится весьма зрелищно. Не каждый день роняешь одной силой Star Destroyer с орбиты.

I remembered renting this with a blockbuster summer pass way back when and kind of enjoying it, but I couldn't remember the story at all. After owning it from a bundle, I tried it again and now remember why - I ended up returning it long before completing it. It's a fine game, just not especially good, especially with the dated graphics and bugs added with this PC port.
The cutscenes and story are pretty good, the basic gameplay is kind of fun... to start. Then you slowly realize that everythings a bit glitchy, and simply not that great. The sound effects are terrible, the 30fps graphics are mediocre at best, and the fighting starts out seeming fun, until battles get tougher and you realize you're basically exploiting broken moves so you don't get cheesed to death. Add in some poorly controlled platforming and a couple crashes here and there just to complete the icky picture.
Again, it was a decent game at release, and I kinda enjoyed the first couple of missions... but there's much better games to spend your time on nowadays.

You start with the typical introduction mission, you are overpowered as hell as you slaughter these wookies. It feels great, you feel powerful. Then the first bossfight, not that hard and you did it.
From that point on, you play as Galen Marek and have to level him to be powerful again.
But you get used to it, there are lots of powers that you can combine and thee combos feel heavy. They feel powerful, the animations are great and with the physics every action you do, wether it's forcepush, lightning, holding the enemy in the air to strike him with lightning and then throw your lightsaber at him, it looks greatz and feels great.
The game isn't that hard, but there are some places or situations that are tricky.
There are 16 bosses and everyone is build different and has their own set of attacks and skills.
The combos you can do are amazing. You have four different attackmoves and your movement. You can combine them all to more than ten combos and combine combos with combos and so on.
These make me feel like the sithassassin that defeated Vader.
I played the story for about 12 times and I still play for once a while.
It is so much fun, if you like feeling overpowered, once you know how to combine the different attacks.
And it's longer than the second TFU. You got 13 story missions and 3 extra levels you can play like the siege on hoth, Jabba's palace and the jedi temple.
Not like SWTFUII with its five missions.
I definetely recommend it to everyone who loves star wars or just likes fighting with abilities!
Have a nice day.

God Mode in Star Wars
Before Jedi: Fallen Order came out last year, this was one of the most recent single-player Star Wars games; it was made in 2008. Despite its age, it holds up quite well as an immersive force experience. It's not without its issues--some of which are compounded by this advanced age--but it's still as fun as I remember when I played the Wii version a decade ago.
Story: Uniquely Star Wars-esque
This game explores the period between the third and fourth Star Wars movies; the player is Darth Vader's secret appearance, groomed by the fallen Jedi from birth. I won't spoil the intricacies of the story, but it's solid overall. In ways I can't quite put into words, it has a very Star Wars-y feel to it.
Gameplay: A Masterclass in The Force
TFU undoubtedly lives up to its billing as a force-guided beat-em-up. The different force powers feel satisfying to use and resonate a real sense of power. Combat, especially on lower difficulties, can be rather simple, but mowing down hordes of stormtroopers and other enemies will always be satisfying. Lightsaber combat does leave a little to be desired--it basically consists of a few combos that can be supplemented by force powers and that's it--but this is the force unleashed, not the lightsaber unleashed. The repetitive lightsaber combos aren't egregious enough to be a major problem, though, and are often excused by the extensive applications of the force to gameplay.
Quicktime sections often conclude duels with bosses and larger enemies. The visuals of these cutscenes are fantastic, and their grandeur only grows as the game progresses. I do wish that the character was capable of such feats in normal game combat, but Starkiller is overpowered as it is. Boss fights do feel repetitive at times, and a surprising number of enemies can be cheesed to death with Force Lighting, but the pacing of the game remains solid in spite of this.
Graphics: Well, it's Better Than the Wii
This is one department in which the game really shows its age. A 1920x1080 resolution is as far as this game will go without modification, and it's capped at 30 FPS. This works alright in cutscenes--it almost gives off a more cinematic feel--but fluidity in gameplay is king in games like this. There are fixes, so you can play at 60 FPS, although the last two levels remain locked at 30. There are also some audio issues in those last two levels, which require an additional download to repair. Steam also has no achievements for this game, despite there being some on console. Ultimately, the game is somewhat poorly optimized; it's glaringly obvious that this game was built with a primary focus on console gaming. The resolution/FPS/audio issues may have been par for the course in 2008 for a PC port, but now they're nuisances.
Small Things I Loved
Even with its shortcomings, the general attention to detail raises TFU above mediocrity. The voice acting is stellar; Sam Witwer is fantastic as the protagonist (and the Emperor) and Matt Sloan gives us a convincing Vader in the absence of James Earl Jones. The score is far from a Williams masterpiece, but elements of his music ring throughout the game and complete the Star Wars environment.
The Ultimate Sith Edition includes DLC costumes and levels that can be accessed from the beginning of the game. The costumes are a fantastic cosmetic addition and are a blast to experiment with. C3PO as a Sith Lord, for example, is nothing short of priceless.
The levels are neat too. Playing as an amped-up, fully evil Starkiller and facing some of the most legendary Star Wars characters is a truly great experience. If you didn't before, these levels definitely make you feel as if you're in a Star Wars movie.
Small Things I Disliked
In addition to progressing through the main story, collectibles--which take the form of Holocrons and Lightsaber Crystals--are scattered throughout the various worlds. I enjoyed collecting most of them, which came as rewards for exploring smaller parts of the map, but there is very little incentive to collecting all of them. Obtaining all of a level's collectibles results in some small bonuses, but there is no reward for 100% completing the game. Because of this, replayability is almost nonexistent. I went back through a second time to collect the items I missed and see the other ending, but the game is not worth more than two playthroughs.
Having played the Wii version, which includes another four or so levels, I do feel like this story teeters on the short side. I wouldn't have minded a few more unique level environments--two are effectively re-used with texture changes later on--in addition to some extra levels. The levels we did get, however, are solid.
Overall: Solidly an A-Tier Game
This game often finds itself on Top 10 lists for the best Star Wars games; it is not the best--far from it in fact--but it is quite good. The usual $20 sticker price seems a little steep for the game you get, but it's a must buy when it goes on sale. The gameplay is rewarding and is complemented by a story that feels unique and details that make this game distinctly Star Wars. Don't expect perfection, but well worth checking out!

The story is really not great. Its extremely 'by the numbers', and whilst it tries to firmly place itself in the Star Wars universe it has little to no consequence on the future story. The player-character of Starkiller is completely unbelievable as a part of the Star Wars universe, as he is incredibly overpowered for someone with little to no significance apart from what the game desperately tries to force. His 'DBZ' style powers are perfectly fine as part of a dumb action game but when the game tries so hard to tell you this is all an important part of the Star Wars timeline, it acts as a giant can of worms. All that said, this game is no longer part of the 'canon' storyline, and honestly that's a relief.
It may seem like I'm being very negative about this game but honestly there are good things about it. The force powers are fun, the destruction is incredible for a game of its age, and there are plenty of varied foes to beat up. However, its just not as good as everyone seems to remember it being. There's also the unfortunate technical problems this game has. The PC port is lazy to start with. No graphics options aside from resolution and a simple preset list is not good enough. The game also has terrible audio issues. Audio seems to not come through speakers correctly, sounding very disorienting and unpleasant. There's also a huge amount of sound missing from the last two missions of the game, which isn't really forgivable. its abundantly clear this game was meant for consoles and the PC port was a poor excuse for an afterthought.
So overall, I have to say The Force Unleashed, especially on PC, is quite disappointing. A weak story, poor lightsaber combat, and a general lack of any polish really undermine what could have been a good game. There is some simple fun to be had, its not terrible, but its not deserving of the praise it seems to get. I believe that if it weren't a Star Wars game it would have been forgotten. As a massive fan, the Star Wars factor does improve it slightly for me, but in summary its a very average game. If you're a Star Wars fan and its cheap on sale, it might be good for nostalgia; but don't expect much more.
Pros:
- Fun force powers
- Great destruction
- Good enemy variety
Cons:
- Terrible PC port
- Average story
- Unsatisfying lightsaber
- Audio bugs
5/10
Good for dumb fun, but that's about it.

The game play is just ok. Its hampered by enemies being able to juggle you, awful QTE, and Boss fights with bad camera angles.
Graphics are hard to judge now since this game is 10+ years old now. Though I would say they were ok for the time. The animation looks a bit Janky some times.
To many issues witht his game for me to give it a thumbs up. Unless you are a Die hard Star Wars fan you will probably like it.

On to the negatives and why I can't recommend this game. Steam version seems to be very buggy. Half the time when I exit the game it completely freezes my computer forcing a shut down. Did that the first time I quit out of the game. The second time I loaded it up, it completely forgot my progress. Had to start a new game. After 20 minutes of speeding through the game to get to where I was before, the game crashed to desktop. When I loaded it up the third time, most of the default setting were disabled, such as enemy health bars, moves were disabled, minimap was disabled.
Bought it on a steam sale and still not worth it. Get it on console.

Although to be honest it'd be kind of weird considering this as canon still, as the main character never really had too much development (Hell, I'd say the side characters like Proxy, Juno and Kota all come across as more well fleshed and relatable than generic male character over here) and to grant him this amount of weight in the star wars trilogy would be undeserved.
An alright hack&slash though. The combos selection is ample, as is the customization which is achieved through playing the game rather than paying real money (remember when that was a thing in games?) It has some issues, like the enemy spamming attacks on you while you're down and the ragdolling being all over the place. Be prepared also for plenty of Quick-Time Events, I kind of enjoy them as I like the cinematics that come with it but I know of lots of people who prefer legitimate gameplay. It's also very short: I completed it in 9.5 hours, so be wary of that.
Solid game, I enjoyed it. Has some issues though, especially on PC.
It was worse than I remember it being when I played it in my youth, but it still holds up for the most part.

- Good story
- Decent graphics
- Decent customisation of lightsaber and character
- Nostalgia
- Decent DLC (about an hour each in playtime) delving into the non-canon ending and adding to the character building.
- Great boss battles
Neutral:
- Story differs from certain console versions (I played the PS2 version many years ago and entire sections were missed or done differently, examples being the entire Jedi Temple missions being skipped on PC and pulling the star destroyer down being a playable section on PC vs a QTE/Cutscene on consoles), the Endor DLC was never ported to PC, the Rogue Shadow isn't a hub like the PS2 version.
- Able to play at 60FPS using the PCGW page , however this will cause a physics bug that any Force Gripped item will move upwards faster than you can drag it down and amplifying damage thrown items deal, making some sections difficult (Kazdan Paratus' boss battle full of random 1 shots) and others impossible (Jedi Temple DLC Trial of the Mind; this was the only time I reverted back to the original exe and as soon as I passed this puzzle reverted back)
- Frequent QTEs with solid detection
Cons:
- Questionable balance (Felucia was painful on 2nd highest difficulty, Kazdan Paratus is by far the hardest boss
- Pacing can be spotty (long sections without enemies, long puzzle sections that are simple but tedious, a horde of enemies appearing without any warning)
I thoroughly enjoyed this game when I first played it on PS2 all those years ago and I still enjoy it to this day, and was able to get more out of it in terms of understanding and being able to finally play the DLC. Recommended for Star Wars fans and fans of hack and slash type games, or people looking for an experience similar in some ways to Fallen Order on a budget. 8.5/10.

It's with some reluctance that I recommend this game, but to be fair, I completed it and ultimately left feeling satisfied.
It's definitely a game which I'll leave installed and perhaps return to at some point in the future if I ever want a casual dose of Star Wars.
It's a hack and slash which is probably my least favourite genre since it doesn't require much thought and the primary point of the game is to slaughter countless grunts and with regards to this game in particular, occasionally, fight mini-bosses and be rewarded with a decent yet often annoying boss fight at the end of each level.
It can be very frustrating at times with the near infinite amount of enemies that spawn during every level and the situations which you often find yourself in - you're always outnumbered and certain enemies are a real headache to fight. A few of the enemies you'll encounter have abilities for which there is no counter (I find that the best thing to do is to utilise hit and run tactics).
There are many combos/abilities but they're either near impossible to pull off or have very little effect against certain enemies, especially bosses.
With regards to combos, being near a mini boss or boss for any length of time will result in them using an overpowered and quite often unblockable ability which will, for example, send you flying to the moon or lead you to being picked up and thrown across the arena like a paper airplane. Though the same is often true if you're too far away from them. Do note that all enemies are easily defeated with great patience and craftiness but these tactics negatively impact the feeling of badassery you should get from being a Jedi/Sith.
The ragdoll physics are nice but detract from the experience of being a badass Jedi/Sith when it's you that's being tossed around like a wet dish cloth, and believe me, you will be ragdolling all over place. Humorous, indeed, but then you realise you're (supposed to be) this badass Sith who has just been thrown off a platform by a puny man in an iron suit and you will ask, 'am I a joke to you?'...
You'll visit a few different worlds/areas (some of which are a bit unsightly) and in the later part of the game you'll return to these same areas.
There's very little hand holding which is good to an extent but sometimes it's nice to be provided with a little hint or tip, especially when you're playing higher difficulties and the game for the first time and you're wondering why the boss's health isn't moving at all despite your best efforts.
The best aspect of the game is the fact that you play as a Sith apprentice but unfortunately only for a short while, though at the end of the game you'll be able to choose either the Light or Dark side ending.
There are many costumes, lightsabers, etc, which you can use, so you can play through a level as Obi-Wan Kenobi with a red lightsaber, Darth Maul with a blue lightsaber or even C3-P0!
I played this game years ago on console so it was also a slight nostalgia trip for me. This version however seemed somewhat different but obviously it's the 'Utimate Sith Edition' which comes with a bit of extra content. This time playing it wasn't as good as my first for some reason.
There are three extra levels for you to fight your way through; Jedi Temple, Hoth and Tatooine. The latter two are amazing and continue the story from the Dark Side perspective.
It's a very repetitive game with quite a few nuisances but if you can look past that and are a Star Wars fan then it's worth a go and you'll surely derive a fair bit of enjoyment from it.

It's a bit old but still enjoyable.
PROS
- good story, could be a movie
- the use of Force is almost addictive: lightnings, throwing objects to enemies and more
- fun to play and doesn't require a mental effort: it's a good break between work and study
- the graphics is still good
CONS
- the main character is overpowered (in the story, not in the gameplay)
- actually the gameplay is not so various, even if it changes when you get more powers and combos
- some parts are a bit frustrating and if you die you start from the last auto-saving
